I stay with The Blackstone for business on a quarterly basis. Always a five star stay.
Location and historic building.
The view was amazing(lakeside), the front desk staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The Lobby was beyond words and pictures don't do it justice
We drove, so parking at the lot in the Hilton was a tad confusing to find and figure out, but manageable.
If you are looking for a wedding venue in Chicago do not move forward with the Blackstone Hotel. We wasted a month of planning with the wedding event coordinator Carly who was unresponsive and extremely difficult to work with due to lack of customer service. We decided to look elsewhere even though we loved the space.
We were greeted like royalty and we are far from that status. David the Bellman was incredibly polite, welcoming and so very helpful! Staff at the desk were absolutely fabulous and greeted me with a huge Happy Birthday as I was there celebrating turning 60 with my sisters. They also surprised us with cupcakes in our room.
Little weird with the barndoor for the bathroom that didnt close all the way, and the shower had a half door. Never experienced that before. Wasn't hated, just a little weird.
Nice view in the room. The location is unbeatable, but the hotel itself is very dated. The Empire-style decor, which should be grand, just looks gray and dusty now—it feels like a relic of a bygone era. The lighting is quite poor throughout the building, and the guest rooms are especially dim. Don’t trust the professional photos; they don’t reflect the reality. Also, be aware that if you need bottled water, you have to go down to the front desk yourself to ask for it. All my photos were taken on my phone to show you the real condition.
酒店不错,位置一流,内部老旧。
在一个没有啥盼头的城市,你也就别那么挑剔了。
I wanted to surprise my girlfriend with a stay-cation in Chicago for Valetine's Day so I booked a room at The Blackstone.
The lobby of the hotel immediately feels important and high class. You feel like you've stepped back in time to the time when presidents were roaming the halls of The Blackstone. There is an old typewriter that actually works, and a photo booth you can take pictures in with you loved one.
However, the biggest compliment I can give is to the concierge, Lucy. I called the hotel asking if we could do something special for my girlfriend (box of chocolates waiting in the room, or wine), and she said that she'll see what she can do. Lucy went above and beyond in upgrading our room from a Queen to a stunning deluxe room. It was the most beautiful room I had ever stayed in, and I am a high status Marriott member. Not only this, but Lucy provided us with some treats to make our stay even nicer. She is the ultimate professional and the textbook definition of what "hospitality" should be - something that is hard to find nowadays.
Besides being a historic hotel with an incredible history (12 US Presidents have stayed here, including JFK), the restaurant in the lobby was also one reason why I booked here. Mercat a la Planxa was an incredible tapas style dinner. I highly recommend the bacon wrapped dates and garlic shrimp. If you want a couples trip this is perfect - you never have to leave the hotel! If you wanted to leave however, the hotel is in a great location right next to Grant Park for a nice stroll or even a walk to the beautiful Art Institute of Chicago.
All in all, a fantastic stay I will never forget! Thank you Lucy and The Blackstone team!
Our stay was great from the moment we were greeted at valet to the friendly staff at check-in and the amazing corner room with the beautiful lake views. Got to celebrate a birthday at Mercat a la Planxa too. Thank you to the staff and team at Blackstone for a memorable stay. You did great all around. Kudos!
The rooms are wonderful- comfortable bed, great lighting and amazing bathroom with walk in shower. As other reviews have mentioned my one critique is lack of food options. Yes, the Marriott is right next door with options but it would be nice have a coffee shop that was open seven days a week on site. In the winter staying at a place as nice as the Blackstone but NOT having a way to get a decent latte without going into the cold is not cool. The coffee shop at the hotel is closed on Sundays which seems ridiculous.
Stayed in this historic hotel for 7 nights over Christmas and all in all had a very comfortable stay. This is a 115 years old beautiful grand classic hotel with a rich history, located just across the street from Grant Park. Renovated and fresh and comfortable room in decent size (room 2015). Excellent bed quality. Friendly and professional staff at the front desk. Friendly staff and good coffee in the hotel coffee shop. The only negative was that housekeeping could have been much better. Our room was not vakuum cleaned for the first 6 days, it was first done on day 6 after mention it to the front desk. Also, the maid left cleaning items in the room almost every day. Also there was a smaller water leakage from the roof in our bathroom (reported to front desk upon checking out). Still a good stay and would gladly stay here again.
Loved the history
I stayed at The Blackstone Hotel in Chicago and Lucy absolutely made the experience exceptional. She was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely went above and beyond to ensure everything was smooth and enjoyable. Her professionalism mixed with her warm personality made all the difference. The kind of service that truly stands out. The Blackstone is lucky to have her, and I’d gladly stay again knowing Lucy is part of the team.
Everything. It was clean and very beautiful.
Nothing, everything was wonderful.
