Overall, a lovely hotel. The car park is worth looking at to see the fabulous ornate columns.
Pros:

Beautiful characterful hotel which has been well renovated with attractive modern rooms. I appreciated that they still had baths.

Cons:

The hotel itself is lovely and a pleasure to stay in. I would say that the breakfast could be improved with more options and choices. Table service always adds a good touch too.

Lovely location..but Room for improvement
Pros:

Loxatuon excellent.Decor in foyer and lounges lovely but the seating was very u comforrable, too low to reach tables to eat food.
Bit the actual food was great and the bar staff were exceptional.

Cons:

Room decor not up to same standard.
Expected more in room. No biscuits, no extra blanket, no liners in bins, generally felt basic.

Reception lady when i arrived was abrupt and unhelpful but later interactions and the person who actually allocated my room key some hours later, were pleasant enough.i think they could improve reception staff behaviour.

Lovely historic hotel and great location opposite the train station.
Pros:

Lovely historic hotel and great location opposite the train station. This was a travelzoo deal 2 nights with breakfast and an evening meal. The room was a superior room which was modern decor, spacious and clean with coffee & tea making facilities. We had an evening meal one evening. Nice modern spacious restaurant. The food was ok/average. We chose a bottle of the Ayrum Temperanillo £26.50 which complimented the meal well. The service was good and friendly.
