Really enjoyed it here, room was lovely and spacious with a balcony view of the nile. Kassim, the owner is very friendly and spoke to us about egyptian history. Its good to stay in the village and give money to the community, not just visit on the boat.
Breakfast was good and a good selection to set you up in the morning. If you go out on an early tour they will make you a little breakfast pack to eat out so you are covered.
We ate dinner here and it was lovely, I really enjoyed their food.
Would defo stay again.
Only tried the restaurant.. amazing food with very good value for money, you have to order their potatoes pan.. okra was excellent (cooked in upper Egypt’s traditional way “weka”), meat was amazing.. the view is very nice and the staff is very friendly
I can't say enough good things about this place. I was welcomed with a cup of karkade and upgraded to a Nile view room free of charge.
As a solo female traveler, feeling safe is super important to me. I felt incredibly safe here. The staff was friendly, and not only did they give me the room upgrade, but they also allowed me to stay in the room for the remainder of my final day until my flight left that evening. Talk about hospitality! I can't even put into words how much I appreciated it. The weather was hot, and I wasn't keen on the idea of wandering around with my bags after spending the entirety of the day before out in the sun. A lifesaver!
There are little shops within walking distance, and it's not on the island, so hotel pickups are still possible for tours/airport transportation.
It also has really good A/C — which was VERY welcome in the August heat.
If you're looking for a comfortable place in Aswan's Nubian Village, I can't recommend this place enough.
We are a Mother and Daughter who travelled through Egypt for the first time and were travelling around, for the 2 weeks we were there.
The Kendaka Nubian Guest house and boat was so amazing. We were there only 2 days/ 1 night but even in this short time they made us feel very at home. The scenery, the people, the food, everything was amazing! We had no complaints, the room was clean and lovely! Also we had the best nights sleep in the whole trip, at your hotel and we believe it’s because of how at home you made us feel. We would definitely recommend staying here, everything was amazing and on top of this they were so helpful by organising a speed boat from the hotel to our next destination the next day. Also I have to say again about the food, the breakfast lunch and dinner was all so tasty, so if you’re a foody like us make sure this is on your list! *Remember to ask for the lemon and mint fresh juice and the chilli sauce (on the side as it will blow your socks off) with dinner.
It was all extremely reasonably priced so if you’re doing Egypt on a budget, or not, this is your place!
Thank you all so much for your welcoming and inviting energy. We hope to see you again very soon! <3

Stunning location, fantastic value for money, and incredibly hospitable. The food was delicious, the singing and dancing hypnotic, and sitting on the boat with hibiscus tea was bliss.
Evening getting up at dawn was worth it for the view from our balcony.
As a solo woman traveling around Egypt this place was a bit of fresh air: no scamming, no questions of “married or single” as in Cairo. No insistence, no selling: Aswan people are calm, and nubian people are sweet, honest and receptive.
If you like rustic style, local food & nature, the nubian village is your place in Aswan!
As soon as I arrived I gained a welcoming juice after tuktuk ride. They showed me my view and upgraded my room without any request.
They booked my Abu Simbel tour for the fairest price, no greed/no selling, they helped with my cruise for free. Very nice people!
The food smell is just amazing, try the nubian sauce!
If I return to Egypt, for sure I’ll spend more days with them. After all stress with Egyptian drivers and guides insisting to selling stuff, nubian people are a bit of fresh air!
The governament of Egypt should take nubian people to train Egyptians on how to treat tourists professionally!
As a solo woman I felt respect and cared!
What a great surprise after a long day.
Honestly a perfect meal, soo much food, tender meats, mash and cheese, grilled half chicken, okra tagine, breads, salad, tagine, rice, 4 x lemon and mint drinks and nice staff.
Bargain for about 20 quid.
I'm a professional chef of 24 years and I'm recommending this joint to anyone visiting.
Nice stroll thru the lit market afterward.
Try it.
First of all, I would like to that Muhammad for taking us to Nubian Village. The hospitality of greeting two Black American sisters was greatly appreciated. I enjoyed being treated like family. Kendaka’s food was superb and delicious. The grilled chicken with or with Nubian sauce, bread, salad, potatoes, okra and rice paired with Nubian or Turkish coffee was scrumptious!
Please make sure that you stop at the Kendaka Guest House! It’s an experience that you can’t miss!
Food was delicious, the staff was professional and friendly, super clean rooms. The hotel is on an island on the Nile with boats always available for touring both the Nile and the city.
Highly recommended! Amazing views, see photos!
Do not miss this cozy hotel if visiting Aswan.
Heaven on earth, clean rooms, amazing delicious food, friendly staff always helping u and smiling, incredible location.
Thank you Azzam for the great hospitality and amazing place and food, it won't be our last time
We spent one night at the Kendaka Nubian house because we had to travel further to Abu Simbel at dawn. The host was very kind. The rooms are wonderful, clean, comfortable and overlook the river. The dinner was excellent and very much !!! Nubian bread is the most delicious I have ever eaten. The people of Nubia are smiling, kind, helpful. I hope I can stay here longer for a while. Thank you for your kindness and the morning coffee was also very delicious.
Had a wonderful stay in this Nubian guesthouse, loved waking up to an amazing view to the Nile with lovely traditional breakfast outside. Highly recommend this place for everybody, they take super good care of you. I was travelling alone as a woman so it felt great. It's also easy to take a boat to Aswan or a taxi from the guesthouse. Hope to visit this place again :)
The view is very lovely .. opening your eyes every morning on the nile view
The staff are amazing and very helpful
You feel at home ❤️
Food is very lovely and delicious
The colors make you happy and cheerful mood
Had the best time 🥰🥰
Our family just returned from 8 Days in Egypt. Our 3 nights at the Kendaka guest house was the highlight of our vacation. Such an oasis of beauty and warmth from the owners to the villagers. Our two teenagers also loved it. Nearby there was Sandboarding, Henna, Nubian Coffee Rituals and eating all delicious freshly prepared meals on the boat sitting on the floor at the house. Our friend Mohammad took us into the village and we met one of his school teachers. We all learned the Arabic and Nubian alphabet and how to write our names in Arabic. We were able to see a New Years Eve concert very close-by that was conducted on a stage built into the rocks of the river. AMAZING! Just cruising around on the Nile at sunset is so beautiful. A special thanks to Hussain, Azure and to everyone at Kendaka for making us feel like family. We will definitely return.
Thank you Kendaka team for your great hospitality and your patience with our group during our Teenagers camp that was conducted at your unique Nubian house.
Your friendly staff with their charming smile and their positive energy were added values to our camp.
Best accommodation and tasty homemade oriental food👌👌👌👌👌
