We had an absolutely unforgettable experience at the Silversmith Hotel Chicago Downtown. From the moment we arrived around 10:30 a.m., we were welcomed with exceptional service. The valet attendant was incredibly helpful—he assisted us with all of our luggage and kindly directed us inside to Beverly at the front desk.

We didn’t expect our room to be ready that early and assumed we would simply store our luggage. Instead, we were greeted by Beverly, who immediately made us feel at home. She struck up a conversation with our granddaughter, who was excited about going to see Hamilton. They connected right away, and Beverly shared her own experiences seeing the show, which made the moment even more special.

When Beverly learned that we were celebrating our granddaughter’s birthday, she went above and beyond. Not only was she able to check us in early, but she also surprised us with a beautiful room upgrade. The room was spacious, stunning, and truly exceeded our expectations.

After returning from the show to drop off our Hamilton merchandise, we discovered an incredible surprise waiting for us—there was a heartfelt note, confetti spread across the table, and a beautifully wrapped birthday gift. Beverly had thoughtfully arranged it all for our granddaughter.

We were completely in awe—not only of the beautiful hotel, but of the genuine kindness and attention to detail shown by the staff. This experience meant so much to us and made our granddaughter’s birthday truly unforgettable.

On a scale of 1–10, we give the Silversmith Hotel an 11. They truly went above and beyond.

Ubicación excelente. Camas cómodas. Te dan tikets con consumición gratis para la cafetería. Hay enchufes en la mesita de noche. Pedimos que nos cambiaran de habitación porque el ventilador hacía mucho ruido y nos cambiaron sin problema. Muy buen gimnasio, aunque no hay esterillas.

First time staying at the Silversmith. I come to Chicago for work quite often and have stayed at various hotels in the Loop. This place pleased me on so many levels. The hotel and my room
are clean, the hotel and room are
well taken care of and not beat up, my room is well appointed, the staff is nice, the hotel has a bar and restaurant on site, and the room prices are not out of sight. When housekeeping came, they did not change the temperature of my room, nor did they change the lighting/the way I had the curtains, and the room was as clean as it was when I checked in. It might not seem like a big deal, but when you have your room temperature set to your liking and housekeeping completely changes it, I find it very annoying. Housekeeping at the Silversmith did not do that. I’m definitely staying here next time I’m in town. I hope they keep up the good work!

We stayed at the Silversmith for one night between Amtrak train journeys. We found the room extremely pleasant and quiet, having requested a room "in the back" for that reason. We were satisfied to pay the $26 historic preservation fee in addition to the room cost in order to support the stewardship of great buildings like this.
In addition to the good location, we had two delicious meals in the restaurant. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast egg white frittata! All in all a lovely stay!

What a lovely warm and friendly hotel experience. (Lovely ladies on reception. )
The silversmith hotel is in the perfect spot close to all attractions and walking distance .
Rooms are clean and the bed is very comfortable . If in Chicago I would definitely return.
