Cons:

When booking, was told a smoking room was an option, but it is a smoke free facility, so that was a lie. Staff unconcerned with my issue and unhelpful

Needs better breakfast but it was a very nice area and quiet part of town.
Pros:

I think the breakfast could have been better, offered fresh fruits and other varieties of food. The only thing worth eating was the waffles.

Cons:

The shower squeals loudly when it’s running and water runs down the wall to the floor outside the tub making the floor a big puddle of water

Great location
Pros:

The location is great and we felt very safe. Easy drive to downtown Dallas. We highly recommend Irving as a base to visit Dallas.
The breakfast was good, the breakfast room is clean.
The desk clerk was helpful

Cons:

The rooms are old and need some renovations including the bathroom. The worse was the smell in the bedroom, awful !! We asked to change and the desk clerk gave us another room, he didn’t look surprised when we talked about the bad smell. The smell was better but not perfect. It tells us that the entire hotel might need new carpets and/or new filters in the air conditioning system.

BED BUGS! Bites all over my body.
Bed bugs!!! I only had a one night stay and continue to toss and turn because I was itching. I continuously checked the sheets in the middle of the night and nothing!!! This morning sure enough a red bed bug crawled from behind the pillow that was against the headboard. I showered quickly grabbed my stuff and left. The young lady was kind at the front desk but I don’t intend returning back. This is my 2nd time staying here for one night and again not a good experience. Lesson learned.

The carpet needs to be replaced.
HVAC system needs cleaning
The Smell is the room caused me headache.

Not as bad as some but needs some TLC!

The location was fine. The bed was comfy and the sheets and towels were clean!!

Cons:

Carpet inside the room and hallways was FILTHY!! The bathroom sink was clogged and no one ever came to fix it after I mentioned to the front desk staff. The property needs some TLC!

I stayed in a room with bed bugs, and Booking has not resolved the issue. I had to spend around $79 on my own to disinfect my belongings, and the hotel did not properly disinfect the room — they only changed the sheets. This has been extremely upsetting and unacceptable.
