We were set to check-in, and that day, we get an email that they cannot accommodate our 2 queen bed and couch room, but they will give us a king bed and a couch. Unfortunately, this will not work for us because 1 of my children was sick, and I did not want her to share a bed with her brother. I asked if they had any 2 queen rooms or if we could have 2 different king bed rooms. I was told they had no queen bed rooms and I would have to pay more for 2 king rooms. Ridiculous and had to scramble to stay somewhere else that evening.
I'm giving this hotel an excellent rating primarily due to the value at the price we paid and location. We had a large one bedroom suite with a kitchenette. It had a small cooktop, microwave and full sized refrigerator. Nice layout. The king bed had a bit of sagging. The shower had low pressure and did not get very hot either, but was adequate. Overall the room was fairly clean, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast area in the morning was chaotic, full of families with children. It was sometimes difficult to find an open, clean table. They did open up an adjacent room for overflow which helped. Breakfast options were plentiful with protein choices and fruits along with breads, waffles, pastries and cereals. The hotel had cookies available in the afternoons which was a nice touch and on Wed. late PM, there was a reception with salads, snacks and even wine. Enough food for us, that we did not need dinner that night. This hotel has a guest laundry which is a plus. Staff members that we interacted with were all friendly and helpful. Parking is free. The location of this hotel is great for walks along International Blvd. and central to Theme Parks, the Convention Center and other sites. Would recommend for families with children, not so much for couples but OK if the price is right.
Visited this hotel in April 2022 post pandemic. After looking at a number of hotels and changing our mind to visit Universal instead of SeaWorld. We booked to revisit here, included breakfast, a large fridge and kitchenette and the hotel very kindly let us re-stay in our old room 148 which allowed us to park and be back in room as next to an exit door on the Bahama Breeze aspect of hotel.
Great Points: So close to Universal, at worst 10 minutes by car to Citywalk by Rental Car or Taxi.
Central for restaurants and the interstate for Disney and wider Florida including Tampa etc
Also great coffee, cookies and weekly drinks night offered as additional amenities.
Parking free as we stayed more than 8 nights. A key point as paying twice to park the same car if at the theme parks is something all guests want to avoid
As l had to visit reception daily found staff easily and pleasant and amenable.
Improvement Points.
Housekeeping is a real challenge at a rack rate of nearly £100 per night. Is on request only, daily the night before. Disappointing on a par with a budget hotel like Europe's Premier Inn. Additionally we found with limited notice 3 days over our stay where no housekeeping could be offered as Christmas and New Year. This should have been advertised proactively so guests could book accordingly to keep themselves on top of things.
Location of room:
Second stay we found being in 148 a little noisy with the exterior door, also with limited housekeeping, the bin overflowed with rubbish at the exit, maybe the hotel should provide a better place for rubbish and maybe 147 as an inside room could have been less noisy.
Breakfast:
Found a great choice but very busy, including at the waffle station. Maybe keeping breakfast open until 10 and 1030 weekdays and weekends respectively would take the urgency and footfall out.
Pool:
A great size pool but as in the centre of the hotel will be cool in summer but limited sun with shadows in winter
If I could give hotel a Zero I would! I will NEVER stay at this property again. Check in was not so pleasant they pick and choose who they want to ask for ID. Which is not Really an issue but if you’re not going to ask the two people in front of me for ID, why are you asking me? It felt a bit discriminatory. My first night my room was missing items, such as towels, etc. call down to the front desk no one ever answer the phone. The next morning I woke up to ants all over my toiletries. I washed them off and originally Wasn’t going to make a big deal out of it and just not keep my things in that space. But not five minutes later there were roaches in the bathroom Which I noticed after I got out the shower. I called down to the front desk and was told by whom I presume is the front desk manager. I needed to wait until Maintenance got up there before they would allow me To switch rooms. Which made absolutely no sense to me because what exactly can Maintenance to do to alleviate the situation for me? Either I was called a liar About the roaches and ants in the room or They were trying to have Maintenance come spray and try to keep me in the room. Either way The response was rude and I was told I needed to wait into the room until Maintenance got there. 30 minutes later no Maintenance I’m sitting in a room where more roaches are coming out of the woodwork. Now they’re in the kitchen. I Take pictures of What was left of The ants. And I take a picture of one of the roaches that I just happened to smoosh. I go desk And asked again to get my room changed. Not even 15 minutes into getting into the new room, somebody walks into the room and start staring at me. They shut the door and walk out no sorry no excuse me no nothing. I don’t know who it is. Maybe it was House Keeping I don’t know but I called down to the front desk. They apologize and stated it wouldn’t happen again. At this point, I’m angry. I’m upset. I don’t feel valued as a customer but against my better judgment I stayed because Marco at the front desk was very pleasant and I really did not have time to try to change Hotels. Fast forwarding to check out I was charged $10 for parking after I told them on checking that I would not be parking a vehicle overnight. Not that I had to explain or that it was any of their business, but my brother Who lives in Florida allowed me to borrow his vehicle for the Day so I could get back-and-forth to my business meeting and he would pick it up that evening so that his wife would have her vehicle to drop off her children the next morning. I literally only park the vehicle at the hotel as I showered And from every time on I Uber to where I needed to go. When I saw the charge on my receipt, I called to inform them that this was incorrect because I did not park a vehicle overnight Whoever got on the phone and spoke with me a woman and I’m assuming may have been the same manager that got an attitude with me the night before said to me “ So you didn’t Keep your car here. So you didn’t keep your car in the parking lot. You didn’t keep your vehicle here.“ Very nasty very rude. And like I told her I had no vehicle there. I don’t even have a car here. I don’t live here. When I walked out of the hotel, I Uber to where I needed to go. She said OK and hung up the phone on me. I was never nasty. I was never rude in any of the situations when I spoke to them. From the cleanliness of the hotel to the attitude of the staff, I will never come back here and I am a Hilton member. I travel all the time. I will never come back to this hotel, and I would not recommend it to anyone or any of my colleagues.

Thankfully this was a work trip and did not come out of my pocket. This could use a good cleaning. Over all there’s worse out there. The vents are either full of dust or mold, either way my congestion got so bad each night I could hardly breathe. The remote in the bedroom was disgusting so we never touched it. The fire alarm went off one morning but they got it turned off before we evacuated. Then the elevator by our room wasn’t working so we had to walk back to the front to use that one. Another evening the fire alarm was going off somewhere in the building but not everywhere. When the room was cleaned they turned the temperature up so the room was very warm and stuffy upon return that evening.
We have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions and we have never been disappointed. This time we only stayed for 2 nights as a stopover.
We had requested a quiet room and we were allocated Room 302
The room itself was ok but really could do with updating/decorating. The fan in the bathroom was so noisy we could not leave it running for very long. The A/C was also very noisy. The noise from the lift mechanism so loud in the room it made sleeping virtually impossible.
There was only one bedside cabinet which seems strange for a double bed. The wash basin stopper would not move so had to run water when washing/shaving
The sink in the kitchen area has no stopper so again we had to run the water to wash the few cups etc that we used. It was not worth running the dishwasher for so few items.
The breakfast was very good and hot. The breakfast staff were very good as were the reception staff.
As I said previously we have stayed many times and this is the only time that we have had any issues
I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights starting September 11, 2025 — my second visit this year — traveling with another couple before our cruise. Unfortunately, this stay was a complete disappointment compared to my previous experience.
Both of our rooms had issues. In my room, the ceiling vent in the bathroom actually fell upon arrival, scattering dirt everywhere. It took maintenance two full days to fix the problem after several phones, and when they finally did, the bathroom was still left in a dirty state. The overall cleanliness of the room was unacceptable. Sofa was pretty stained. Hairs appeared on every fresh towel in bathroom.
Only one elevator in the entire building was working, which caused long waits and frustration for all guests. The breakfast was also very poor — limited choices and low quality.
When we went to use the laundry facilities, there was no detergent (Tide) available for purchase. I was assured by Lorraine that I would receive 15,000 Hilton Honors points as an apology for the inconvenience, but two months later, those points have still not been credited to my account.
We were left very disappointed with this stay. The hotel seriously needs to improve maintenance, cleanliness, and guest service standards. I expected much better from a Hilton property.
The hotel looks a little tired, but its essentially still good. However, big draw gor me is the pool o can swim in. It's so cold it's impossible to swim in. Not just me there are people at the pool right now talking about how they wouldn't come back due to the unheated pool. I've been coming here years and unless I can get someone to turn the heating on in the pool (they did last year-saying they forgot. Clearly not) sadly o don't be back. Such a shame.
Anyone help from the hotel?
Everything was good.
Good hotel with pretty decent free breakfast..Room was spacious but could do with a refurb, Sofa and carpet was a bit frayed..
Good location with an easy walk to I-Drive,
Some very close restaurants nearby, Bahamas Breeze, Hooters, Millers, Denny's.
Epic Universal is walkable, About 2 miles if you exit the hotel onto Universal Blvd..
Great
Clean room comfy bed
The room was spacious and the staff polite. Plus cookies during the week.
needs some updating
Beautiful and convenient rooms perfect for families. Breakfast was great (scrambled eggs, ham, sausage, many types of bread, waffles, cereal, etc). Staff was nice
TV went out several times I'm guessing they have this or some kind of satellite because so many times throughout the stay the TV wasn't on couldn't get a signal. Outside of that outside of the hotel being a little dated it was fine.
Its was amazing everyday she did my room fresh n clean , she doing a good job thanks violene , i will come back again when i visit orlando
family friendly
Clean, comfortable and great location!
I will definitely be back! Great location- only thing is I think they need to look into changing their carpet. The one in my room had stains.
