It was a pleasure staying in a great, historic hotel.
Pros:

We upgraded to a higher room with an excellent view of Trump Tower. Your staff was very professional and very friendly. We loved the idea of experiencing a staff in the oldest active hotel in the U.S. Last, but not least, your restaurant was good and you restaurant staff was very good.

Cons:

I can’t think of anything.

Our stay was a well spent splurge!
Pros:

Being in an historic hotel; helpful concierge and other staff; minifridge in room; $10 daily credit; location was awesome for our needs; portraits of entertainers who had performed there years ago; iconic restaurants nearby; would like to have used the pool but ran out of time

Cons:

some confusion over how the 'breakfast included' in the room rate worked. No microwave in the room. TV channels were limited; $25 daily 'destination' charge was charged but was useless to us--could only be used at pricey spa

plutôt décue.
Pros:

Batiment extraordinaire en particulier le lobby. Situation excellente

Cons:

Pas de coffre dans la chambre, pas d'armoire et donc pas de possibilité de suspendre un quelconque vêtement.
Suis restée deux nuits et pas de ménage...
Ai dû payer 25US$ par jour

Wonderful Historic Hotel - Lots to walk to!
Pros:

What a stunning lobby! I went with my mother and spent several days. The location was great. Our room was large and clean. The staff was always polite and helpful. My grandmother and great-grandmother used to stay here in the 1920's when my great grandmother would come to buy inventory for the family (then, not now) jewelry store and my mother had always heard stories. There are artifacts from those days on display and you can see very large Tiffany fixtures. The hotel is right next to Jewelry Row and close to the L, theaters and the Art Institute of Chicago. We walked to many sites, including Millennium Park, the Chicago Architecture Center, the Chicago Cultural Center (my favorite place!!), and Daley Plaza, where we watched part of a World Cup game. I truly enjoyed our stay.

However, there are some caveats. The bathroom needed an update badly. We were on a lower floor and had a view of a wall. There was not a coffee maker in the room, although there was both a mini-fridge and a separate mini-fridge with a minibar. The lobby, while truly lovely, is also incredibly loud. Trader Vics, that apparently used to be on the ground floor, is long gone and the space it must have been in is empty. Other store fronts are empty as well. Parking is a block away and expensive. Probably the biggest irritant was that most days they did not leave us washcloths. We had to ask (and tip) for them. I can only guess that there's a shortage of them.

We had a very comfortable stay. My husband forgot his apple watch in the safe, and the staff were very helpful in making
Pros:

The hotel is centrally located and we could walk everywhere. We loved the restaurant and the fact that we could grab a coffee at Starbucks every morning

Palmer House- hopefully constructive feedback
Pros:

A challenging stay is an understatement. While the hotel is old and the lobby is beautiful, it is loud and over furnished.

I was here for two nights and had three different rooms. All were unclean, poorly maintained, and in desperate need of a refresh. My third room, the room was quite spacious, though nothing worked -outlets, broken bureau drawer, a tub that didn’t drain, a sink that slowly drained and a broken handle on the shower. The list was long. Every scene in the wallpaper was peeling throughout the room. My in refrigerator looked like it’s someone had kicked it down a flight stairs, dented, and scratched and smelly.
Did I mention the toilet paper holder was broken?

How is it that housekeeping cleans this room in between guests and no one has ever noticed that none of these things work or need of repair?

I would never stay here again and just canceled three reservations for the fall. Hilton, you can do so much better.

I was embarrassed to be a Hilton member at this property
