Excellent location
The thermostat was old and not able to be set on a specific temperature. Around 72 degrees outside and falling had to switch back and forth from Cool to Heat.
Lovely staff, clean and shopping in walking distance
Nothing
Clean and great customer service only problem it had one king bed and hideabeds I prefer two queens. Office said they don’t have rooms with two queens other than that excellent service nice staff very helpful and breakfast was wonderful it had everything from waffles to yogurt . Pool was sparkling and refreshing! They provided towels at pool area
The staff members were helpful at all times and did everything they could to make our stay the best it could be. But they seemed to be battling against many odds on most occasions in terms of the decline of the fabric of the building.
However, the cleaning staff could not speak English at all which made it difficult to communicate.
We have been visiting this hotel most years for the past 25 years and this year was a disappointment.
The hotel has become tired and in need of updates and modernisation. And not always clean in all areas.
The pool in particular was extremely dirty until we specifically asked at Reception for it to be cleaned. It needs substantial updates to make it look appealing to get into and instill trust that it is a hygienic pool to be swimming in.
Some refurb updates were taking place over several days during our stay which were very noisy and disrupted any peace and quiet that we were trying to enjoy.
The breakfast provision was of a good level and the breakfast area was clean.
We were disappointed on arrival at the cleanliness of the room from every aspect. We expressed this to the guest services night man.
The sliding doors to the wardrobe did not function properly until we cleaned the track ourselves which improved the situation.
The bathroom was reasonably clean.
However, we had to ask most days for the floors to be hoovered and cleaned. The room was most often not serviced until late afternoon.
The building needs attention.
Many thanks to Dee, for her empathy and sympathy during call to the hotel for reservation confirmation upcoming sad trip to Wilmington.
Our room was quiet and clean, a wonderful respite.
The new patio and fire pit is an added bonus. We had breakfast outside 2 days.
Breakfast the best we've seen in a Marriott property and the attendees were friendly and helpful.
Property grounds beautiful and area safe and well lit.
Very little, if any, room to room noise; some from hallway.
We cannot wait to visit under happier circumstances and await the scheduled remodel updates.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very dirty, with mold in the shower and visible stains in the carpet.
Great hotel and location, quiet area with all amanities around.
Spacious Rooms with all the luxuries of home!
I really want to give this place a much higher rating as we had a nice stay, but there are a couple of things that need to be addressed and unfortunately a couple that can’t be fixed. That being said, I would put this place on your consideration list. First, the Wilmington Landfall has a very cool Coastal, “beachy” vibe. Nice pool, rocking chairs on a porch, breakfast, and the staff was great. A couple nice restaurants nearby. We recommend Tru Blue. Decent location, about 10 minutes from Wrightsville Beach. Convenient to get to and then leave, unless you want the crowds and local restaurant/bars. TIP*: go to Beach Access #4, parking lot, showers, bathrooms, and changing stalls. Most beach access points lack bathrooms. Downside- this place is old and in need of a major reno. Rooms are outdated. Carpet looks like it’s from the 70s, they could a better job at cleaning, and they only have 1 elevator. It’s obvious the maintenance staff are over worked keeping up with everything that breaks. Don’t forget to pet Skittles- the property cat.
Outside grounds and amenities are top notch.
Breakfast was good. Rooms not so much.
All the cabinets squeaked and the refrigerator compressor makes a lot of noise.
Rooms need a refresh!
Loved it
Beautiful hotel and room. Pool was lighted and set up nice. Great to relax or read. They have grills you can use and a bar. Great staff. Loved our stay here.
I’ve stayed at most of the local hotels, but I always find myself coming back here—and it’s all because of the service. I believe his name was Bill at the front desk—he went above and beyond. He gave great local food recommendations, and even made sure the game was on at the bar for us to watch.
Breakfast was great too—hot, fresh, and a good variety. Service like this is hard to find these days.
Highly recommend.
The location was great
Our suite was not very clean. The shower liner in the barhroom had mold on it and the bath tub did not drain. I informed housekeeping, but no one came to address it. We ended up getting Drano and did it ourselves. The shower liner remained dirty as shown in the photo
My room was fine except for the bathroom. The shower needed updating. It was pretty gross.
The staff was very nice and helpful! There were restaurants within walking distance. I would stay again with an updated shower.
Property smelled like garbage. Reported several tumes
Let me tell you! Housekeeping went above and beyond for my family!!! Our daughter had an accident in bed during nap time and they were so quick to help! I can’t even say how thankful we are. The housekeeping manager literally helped me calm down from embarrassment and was so sweet. Everyone from check-in to just walking in the hall was amazing!
We stayed for 6 nights, and this hotel met or exceeded all my expectations. All areas of the hotel were kept clean. The room was large, quiet, and comfortable. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen was very good, and we were able to use it quite a bit. The breakfast has different choices every day, and enough variety of different kinds of breakfast food. The location is extremely convenient, halfway between historic Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach. In addition, there are lots of stores and restaurants close by, many of which are within walking distance without going out to the main highway. There is plenty of free parking. I thought that everyone of the hotel staff that I met was friendly and helpful. Also, the room rate that we paid was an excellent value for what we got. I would certainly look to stay here again if I was back in Wilmington.
