Planernoye Hotel

Location: close to the airport Sheremetjewo in the middle of a nice park and well guarded
Room: that's a vabanque game. I had a very small room
Bed: quite comfy
Bathroom/Shower: small with shower
Cleanliness: good
Air Condition/Heating: the heating is working day and night without any regulation with a temperature of 90 degrees at the radiators. Only chance is gto open the window but then you will be completely biten by moskitos
WLAN: working for free in the lobba
Parking: we arrived with a taxi
Breakfast a big range of different food :
Restaurant: very good quality with a big choice. Lots of different vodkas
Language: russian and little english
Staff: very friendly
Credit Cards: western standard cards accepted

Extra benefits:very nice to sit outside on one of the piers at the lake and have some snacks and one or the other vodka (don't forget your fly dope)
Conlusion: very nice location to relax after a hard working day

As I've titled Plenernoe Hotel is situated in the peaceful place, ex-sanatorium, in the far far away USSR time. The interior of the hotel is still kept in the style of that time. Lux rooms are quite big, good to get a room with the lake view. Breakfast was good. The main menu in the restaurant: nothing special, some meals a quite testy, like a home made, ask waitress to recommend you which is good to eat today ;) huge territory there you can do walking, seat on benches & enjoy lake view, fresh air, birds signing (summer time, of couse:)). I like that hotel is situated not far away from the Sheremetyevo airport 20-30 min trip. Advise you not to take a taxy in the airport, book the transfer in the hotel. Big shopping center is very close: 10 min driving. Also, close to Planernoe: spa centers, horse riding place.
$$$ and quality: $ is a little bit high for that quality.
Good place to stay in summer time if want to be not in the city.

Difficult to book , they ask for a first night guarantee . Internet ( slow ) only in the lobby . Staff is very poor in English or German .
Rooms quite large , with a separate hall and small living room . Bathroom simple , but good shower . Brake fast average , poor service .
Price was reasonable . Very convenient if you have to work in the area . If you want to go to the centre of Moscow , than this is tool far .
Hotel is situated in a nice forest , it is very quiet , however close to the industrial area and airport .

I stayed here Oct 10 - 17 while in Moscow for business. The only reason I stayed here was because it is close to the office. However, some things you should know about this place. First, it's in the middle of the woods, so you will need a car or have to get a taxi and give them very explicit directions. Second, the rooms are pretty bad. They're very small, the bed is really bad (single), and it has radiator heat that you cannot adjust. My room was way too hot. The bathroom was pretty bad too, really small, and had those silverfish bugs on the floor. The shower is really small and I'm 5'5", 140. I couldn't even turnaround in the shower, so I have no idea how my colleagues managed. Also, there's very little closet space and only 4-5 hangers. It does have a t.v., albeit a small flat screen that does actually access English channels like the BBC. On the positive side, the breakfast is very good with a wide range of hot and cold options. Also, the restaurant serves up really good food and cheap rates. All in all, I wouldn't stay here again.

Beware, they charge $60 per person for Visa support. No other hotel we stayed at in Russia charged for Visa Support. This raised our nightly rate to over $300. And for that price, no AC, would have to go up to the third tier of rooms for AC, this was not stated on the website. It was 90 degrees F while we were there, so AC was necessary. The common areas of the hotel are also not air conditioned.

Shower was minuscule. And no soap/shampoo. I couldnt raise my arms in the shower. FYI Im 5'10 and 160 lbs.

However, the staff was friendly, and the grounds are stunning. The lake, the view, etc. Amazing.

It is a bit removed from the city though.

Honestly I wouldnt recommend the Planernoye for tourists. However if you lived in Russia, or could get free visa support, then oh yea, that place was beautiful.
