Rates were quite high. For the price my room was fairly mid not high end. But it was very quiet, staff I dealt with her very nice. I think I had to pay for parking which also is a little irksome
The thing that irritated me most was paying for a high end resort and not be able to get complimentary coffee/tea in the am. Like... come on. The shitty Keurig in the room with fake creamer is what I get in pretty low-mid hotels where rooms are 80-120/night.
The Cassara Carlsbad is a solid family-friendly option, especially if you're planning a visit to LEGOLAND—it's literally within walking distance, which is hard to beat.
The property has a nice pool and hot tub setup, along with beautiful sunset views overlooking the area. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and there are plenty of amenities geared toward families, including an onsite arcade and a well-equipped kids' pool area with lots of water features.
One thing we didn't realize before arriving is that the hotel is completely pet-friendly. If you or someone in your family has pet allergies, that's worth considering before booking.
The onsite dining was perfectly fine for a resort stay, and the hotel shares a parking lot with a Karl Strauss Brewery, which turned out to be a convenient and enjoyable family dining option.
Most of all, I'd like to recognize the front desk team. The service was consistently attentive and genuinely helpful throughout our stay, and they played a big part in making the trip such a positive experience. I’d probably rate it as a very good family hotel, with the pet-friendly aspect being either a major plus or a potential drawback depending on your situation.
Overall great resort, very clean with plenty of pools and nice bar. Central location is a plus
Very great location and pools are open late until 10pm and heated.
Very nice hotel! Some of the staff were very hospitable and solutions-oriented, including Scott at the Lobby Bar, and Chase and Andy at the Front Desk. The "quiet pool," outside the main lobby, was for the most part just that...quiet. There were several times where the parents did not care to manage their kids to comply, however. But...it IS a pool. For the price point, my better half and I were a bit surprised that the mattresses did not meet expectations. Also, the hotel is far from sound-proof, and we could here pretty frequent "steps from above" throughout our stay. Additionally, explanation of the Resort Fee at check-in was not quite accurate...to utilize full credit of the $25/day fee, which can be applied to F&B charges, one must charge each day, and not expect an accrual of credit at check-out. Cheers!
We loved that we could walk to Legoland from the hotel! It was still a bit too chilly to be able to use the pool when we were there but it looked really nice!
We asked to be roomed close to our other family members but we were put so far away!
I liked how close it was to our final destination legoland for our son
The front staff the girl specifically made my stay horrible. She was rude and disrespectful when I asked her why she wouldn’t just say early check in wasn’t possible especially because we waited nearly 2.5 hrs for our room to be ready.
We came here with the family for a Legoland trip. The location is wonderful and the pool makes you wonder why you're going to Legoland at all.
However, the beds were the most uncomfortable beds we've been on, even my kid was complaining, and the carpet needs a refresh. There's only so much the cleaning staff can do.
We went to the breakfast buffet, and the staff were wonderful, but completely overwhelmed. Only three staff doing everything, including restocking the buffet food, clearing the tables, taking orders among other things.
The management needs to get more staff if they're going to charge $25. There were no clean tables, the buffet was only half stocked and it was difficult to get coffee. The staff were running around trying their best trying to serve over 50 guests at once.
I would probably come back just for a staycation, but the management needs to hire more staff!
We loved it. It was clean and spacious.
My son picked out this hotel. The picture on looks really nice . It didn't disappoint. My son showed me his room I noticed a smell like when shampoo a carpet but didn't let it dry completely kinda smell and didn't fell fresh. Like my room. He noticed my room felt fresh and smelling good. He went and talked to a staff member and told them about the room. They were quick to give him another room that was 100 percent better. So thank you for that. Because of you kindness and caring for your guest. I will recommend your hotel to family and friends. Thank you again.
I truly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. From check-in to check-out, the staff was professional, kind, and attentive. The room was clean, modern, and very comfortable. The hotel’s location made it easy to explore the area, and the overall experience was excellent. Highly recommended!.
Excellent place! I highly recommend it!
Great hotel, excellent location. Friendly and courteous staff. Definitely recommend.
Chase was amazing at check-in and answering additional questions later on.
The room was nicely laid out, nice bed, plenty of work space, good size bathroom and counter space, shower had excellent water pressure. Not enough hangers in the closet.Beautiful lobby with a lively atmosphere. Pool has lap lanes. Easy walking distance to the Flower Fields and Outlets.
Having the Karl Strauss Brewing Company restaurant next door was a nice benefit.
Only downside was the airplanes departing at 2:30 AM waking us up, and the printer in the business center table wasn't working
Will definitely stay here again
Lovely location and property grounds. The staff was very friendly. The rooms lacked amenities that I would expect in a tapestry collection room such as a modern bathroom , slippers and bathrobe but the room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The hotel doesn’t offer room service on property, you have to order it through Karl Strauss next door and they deliver but it would have been nice to have it through the hotel also. There’s no valet, only self parking. Overall I would stay again based on the location and overall good customer service.
