The Lake Hotel Killarney

Amazing hotel and location. beautiful inside and out. Huge breakfast selection and great dinner menu. would love to go back.

My son and I stayed at The Lake Hotel July 2023...we loved it. We returned July 2025 to the same excellent service, comfortable room, delicious dining, immaculate housekeeping and overall amazing visit.

Upon arrival, we were welcomed as return guests. Our room was spacious and comfortable witha beautiful lake view; however, I noticed our room did not have air condition. When I discussed it with reception, management personally offered different options including changing our room. A great hotel is not based on high-thread count but rather the lack of resistance and service provided; the Lake Hotel exemplifies those great qualities. The Lyrath Estate hotel managment should take notes (separate review).

We had a very relaxing two night stay at the Lakeside. The atmosphere was very relaxing and the room was excellent with views over the lakeside. Food was excellent in both restaurants and service was very precise but friendly. We look forward to returning again

What a wonderful Hotel!!!! from arrival to departure 10/10 we just love this hotel all the staff are amazing !!! We have a little break before Christmas & we always choose this hotel we spent 3 wonderful days here in a master Delux lake view room again just wonderful !!
We had a dinner included in our package again amazing !!! We didn’t even go into Killarney town on any of the evenings we stayed in the hotel .
Would highly recommend this hotel .

My husband and I had a lovely 2 night break. The lake views from our room were spectacular, the food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

I can't say enough good things about the hotel. If I could give it 10 stars I would. The staff, the room , the thermal suite, the food, the attention to detail is just top class. I took my friend away after a hectic year and we left on a high. Total relaxation from start to finish. Already planning our next trip back. My favourite hotel by far.

Beautiful clean and friendly hotel, staff were super efficient but yet we never felt rushed, our meals were excellent and had plenty time at table to relax. Atmosphere in hotel was a lovely vibe. We were on ground floor and no noise. The thermal suite was excellent with Beautiful views. Only downside is no pool for kids.

An amazing place to stay. Friendly staff who go above and beyond. Room was superb with beautiful view of the lake and surrounding mountains with its own castle ruins for added effect. Food was great, room warm and no noise pollution at all. The Lake Hotel is outstanding and a definite must do experience. Look forward to our next visit.

Sisters weekend and we always stay at the Lake hotel. You cannot beat this wonderful place for location, ambience, staff, food and whole host of welcome and relaxation. An absolute gem!

As always, the rooms are luxurious and super comfortable with amazing views, the food is good quality and delicious and the personnel are warm, friendly, efficient and very customer focused.

Fabulous location, great staff and amazing facilities. A short walk from the Killarney convention centre and right in the National Park, the hotel is perfectly situated for whatever takes your fancy. The room and bathroom were large - including the best shower ever! The room included coffee making failities (but no fridge) and a drinks fountain on the landing. Lots of cosy sitting areas and a bar that stayed open very late! The spa was a bargain, with great views and amenities. Breakfast was a buffet, but it also included many items from a menu at no extra charge.

The Lake hotel could have a nice business on its amazingly scenic location alone .
It goes much further , the staff are exceptionally friendly efficient and helpful , they seem to be enjoying themselves . There is a wonderful holiday atmosphere . We had a great stay there . Next time we will stay for longer .

Just back from our 4th visit to The Lake hotel this year. What an excellent hotel - fabulous location, comfort and food and such helpful, friendly and welcoming staff, who never change. All the above help to make the experience of visiting the Lake Hotel such a memorable one. We love the tradition there - a genuine family run hotel. Have already booked 2 visits for 2026! Can’t wait to return!

The Thermal Suite is an outstanding addition to the Hotel .

We only had one night at the hotel but it was so relaxing I felt we had been away longer.
There is such a relaxed atmosphere but still everything is spot on. Nothing is too much trouble to the staff on reception and the hotel is spotless.
The food was delicious.
The view from the room was amazing.
Beautiful grounds for a walk.
Next time we will take a longer break in the Lake Hotel.

The Lake Hotel is simply wonderful, one of those places you'll feel nostalgic about in future years. The rooms are absolutely beautiful, as well as all the public spaces & grounds. Throughout our 3 nights we were able to try out the restaurant & bistro for breakfast, lunch & dinner- we should've just had all our meals there, everything was delicious! Above all, the staff at the Lake Hotel is first class, not only friendly but took extra care to make all guests feel like VIPs. The staff takes the already beautiful place and makes it shine even brighter, bravo & thank you!

I can only say that each time I stay at The Lake Hotel it is a totally relaxing experience. Once you walk through the door you know it is going to be good. The warm welcome you receive, the friendliness of all the staff is amazing.
The location, the atmosphere, the comfort, the food. It is all top class.
