The Lake Hotel Killarney

My wife Cindy and I, both in our 60s, just returned from a wonderful four-night stay at The Lake Hotel — and we couldn’t be more pleased.
The highlight of our room was undoubtedly the stunning view of the lake, made even more special by a Jacuzzi tub positioned to take in that same breathtaking scenery. Pure luxury. The room itself was comfortable and wonderfully quiet — exactly what we needed.

Dining exceeded our expectations on every visit, whether at the bistro or the main hotel restaurant. Both were excellent. The staff and management throughout our stay were professional, friendly, and genuinely attentive — the kind of team that makes you feel truly looked after.

We were just minutes from the Gap of Dunloe, which we thoroughly enjoyed exploring on foot. By the end of our stay, Cindy and I both felt restored and refreshed in a way we hadn’t in a long time. This trip gave us the chance to slow down and reconnect.

For anyone seeking a peaceful, elegant retreat in Ireland, we cannot recommend The Lake Hotel highly enough.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Lake Hotel in Co. Kerry — without a doubt one of the best hotels in the area.
The rooms are very spacious, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, offering a relaxing atmosphere throughout the stay. The service was excellent from start to finish, with friendly and attentive staff always ready to help.
The food was gorgeous, with a great selection and high quality in every meal. One of the highlights of the hotel was the thermal suite, which was incredibly nice and provided the perfect place to unwind and relax.
Overall, a lovely experience and I would highly recommend the Lake Hotel to anyone visiting Co. Kerry.

We had an amazing 3nights in the Lake Hotel. Our room was a deluxe lake view room. It was amazing to wake up to the beautiful views & watch the swans in the lake.
The staff were so good with our 1.5 year old, they couldn’t do more for us.
The food was lovely both in the Dinning room and in the bar. I’m celiac and they were very accommodating.
The Hotel was very comfy and welcoming.
We will definitely be recommending it and returning.

Another incredible night away for us celebrating our 31st anniversary. Always met by very professional and friendly staff. Our room was upgraded as it was our anniversary and this added to the wonderful experience we had once again at the hotel. Food as always was unbeatable and always keeps us coming back again and again over the years. Hopefully we will pop down again soon. Thanks for a wonderful night in your beautiful hotel.

Fantastic experience from start to finish at the beautifully situated lake hotel, such spacious rooms with amazing views to wake up to. Staff very attentive and professional . Had a wonderful lunch , dinner and breakfast.
The thermal suite was defintely the highlight of our stay, what an amazing facility. Excellent value for money will be back. All within easy aceess to killarney sites and town centre.

Staff are patient, friendly and helpful. Hotel is spotless and comfortable. Ideal location and the views are amazing. Thermal suite is fabulous. Lunch, dinner and breakfast were perfect, no problem with gluten or dairy free options. Will definitely be back again.

Exceptionally friendly staff. Felt at home right from the start. Room spotless. Fantastic view of the lake. Lovely shower. Very comfortable bed. One of the best breakfasts I have had. This hotel is a real gem. Can't believe I haven't been here before. I have been seriously missing out.

Stayed here with my family. This was my second time at the hotel, and I'll definitely be back. Great food, a lovely cozy atmosphere, and exceptional staff. Can't recommend this place enough!

Lovely hotel right on the lake-this hotel is truly worth it for the views alone but on top of that, they have friendly staff, clean rooms and delicious breakfast. Absolutely recommend the thermal suites as well.

We absolutely love The Lake Hotel, we had a wonderful stay, had the deluxe room with the view and balcony and it was just beautiful. The Castlelough dining experience is the best you will get anywhere. The staff are all extremely friendly and the service in all areas is exceptional. The thermal suite has to be the most spectacular spa area, with nothing but the lake and the mountains in front of you, just fabulous. It’s not the cheapest hotel you will find in Killarney but it’s worth every cent.

My son and I stayed at The Lake Hotel July 2023...we loved it. We returned July 2025 to the same excellent service, comfortable room, delicious dining, immaculate housekeeping and overall amazing visit.

Upon arrival, we were welcomed as return guests. Our room was spacious and comfortable witha beautiful lake view; however, I noticed our room did not have air condition. When I discussed it with reception, management personally offered different options including changing our room. A great hotel is not based on high-thread count but rather the lack of resistance and service provided; the Lake Hotel exemplifies those great qualities. The Lyrath Estate hotel managment should take notes (separate review).

We had a very relaxing two night stay at the Lakeside. The atmosphere was very relaxing and the room was excellent with views over the lakeside. Food was excellent in both restaurants and service was very precise but friendly. We look forward to returning again

What a wonderful Hotel!!!! from arrival to departure 10/10 we just love this hotel all the staff are amazing !!! We have a little break before Christmas & we always choose this hotel we spent 3 wonderful days here in a master Delux lake view room again just wonderful !!
We had a dinner included in our package again amazing !!! We didn’t even go into Killarney town on any of the evenings we stayed in the hotel .
Would highly recommend this hotel .

My husband and I had a lovely 2 night break. The lake views from our room were spectacular, the food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

I can't say enough good things about the hotel. If I could give it 10 stars I would. The staff, the room , the thermal suite, the food, the attention to detail is just top class. I took my friend away after a hectic year and we left on a high. Total relaxation from start to finish. Already planning our next trip back. My favourite hotel by far.
