Beautiful building, large bar area very welcoming

No morning gowns in the rooms
We appreciated that the room provided bathrobes and slippers. The spa was one of the best and we enjoyed a lot. The breakfast was made on order so hot food outdid a little wait for it.
Son complained of the sofa bed not being comfortable. The fire alarm had a sock covering it which might have been the previous customer so had to call the reception to take it off.
the spa was great, my wife and i met a couple of interesting people there
- the toilet couldn't flush since the water pressure was so weak
- both occasions in a relatively empty restaurant it took 10-15 minute for them to take our order and then the food arrived late and overcooked everytime
- possibly the most mid stake ive ever had
The Happy Birthday plate of little cakes on arrival in our room was a nice touch. We had the junior suite at the front of the hotel with lovely views. We met a member of staff named Rhys in the spa. He was genuine and friendly and asked about our stay. He even kindly arranged a complimentary drink in the bar. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was spotless.
Breakfast was fantastic and in such a nice setting.
A little fridge in the room would have been nice however not essential. We cannot pick any fault with our stay. It was wonderful

I liked the young staff...... they were entirely the redeeming factor of our stay!!
The waiting staff at our table were excellent.
- Parking immediately outside the hotel is perhaps more suited to vehicles from the 1930's or even perhaps a horse, certainly not suitable for modern cars. However, there is apparently another car park situated by the spa area.
- The spa closes at 7.15pm not 8pm as described.
- 25 minutes to be served a drink at the bar due to a murder mystery night that appeared to poorly organised and soak up the attention of the staff due to a steady flow of cocktails being ordered! If it had not been recognised by one of the male staff in a suit that we were waiting for a prolonged amount of time I am quite sure I would have been drinking from the flower vases!
- The wonderful female waitresses appeared to be distressed due to a bearded suit wearing chap who likes to scream and shout at them! Questionable behaviour of a senior member of staff?!
- Senior member of staff (not the beardy one) having a smoke and spitting whilst walking past the window of the restaurant where we were sat to eat.
- USB charging point in room not working.
- Sink did not drain.
- Door leading downstairs opening and closing directly behind my head in all hours of the night.
- Room service breakfast delivered 30 mins later than requested.
