The hotel itself was pretty, set in nice surroundings and within convenient walking distance of Elounda. The staff were also very welcoming and friendly.
However, the hotel does not offer value for money and cannot be compared with the impeccable standards annd offering of other 5 star hotels in Europe, let alone the Leading Hotels of the World group. €11.50 for 2 diet cokes served in blue plastic beakers on the beach, €31 for 2 G&T’s at a buffet dinner…daylight robbery! I fully appreciate keeping prices high to maintain exclusivity but this is ridiculous for the setting. You’ll notice most guests drink water (€5), even at dinner. I saw a number of guests barked at during breakfast as they tried to fill up water bottles at the water dispenser. The bars are empty, as are all the restaurants, except the buffet which is included in the halfboard rate (but not 1 drink included). Even the buffet is tight on its hot food offering…more school canteen rather than an offering for paying guests. Surely it would make business sense to drop the F&B prices a little to encourage guests to spend their money and create the much needed atmosphere this sleepy hotel needs.
The staff were the magic oart of the trip, amazingly engaging young team at tge Sail in bar,tge waiters at Ariadje were terrific, the sommelier was qomderful. We qere greated by Anna Maria at the entrance of carpark. Everything was wonderful. I woukd strongly suggest the tip,we had a mountain view room qhich was fab as it was recently renovated. Ask for a renovated room. The mountain view rooms view qise are lovely as they get the evening aun ai are perfect for a sundowner
Excellent hotel, helpful & friendly staff. Food very good - great breakfast and good variety of evening restaurants.
Walking distance to Elounda town for local restaurants and bars, and boat trips.
We would definitely recommend and go back in the future.
Maybe not ideal for those with limited mobility as large and spacious hotel on a number of levels with limited lift access.
Gorgeous well maintained hotel with top notch service. The room was very comfortable. The breakfast buffet has anything you could possibly want and the dinner restaurant choices on the resort are all lovely. The perfect relaxation spot. The spa is great too! I had the best pedicure ever there. I wish we could have stayed longer!
The customer service here was second to none!
Superb holiday, staff and service exemplary. Thoroughly recommend
Amazing hotel, fabulous friendly and attentive staff, brilliant amenities. Can’t fault it.
The staff was very friendly and professional. The area around was beautiful. We had a pool which we shared with only one unit and an amazing view! Unfortunately, the room was quite outdated, and some things didn’t work the best. When we requested anything, it took a very unusual long time to get it or we would need to ask again after an hour or two. The food was great! We thoroughly enjoyed the buffet breakfast and dinner.
Fantastic stay
We come every year
Perfect
Nice hotel and beach area. Very clean and spacious inside. Breakfast was nice but didn't enjoy the evening buffet which comes with the booking if you want it or not. Drinks and restaurant food in the hotel very expensive. However there are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby if you don't like an evening buffet or expensive drinks or meals.
The resort is truly five star and my stay included half board and was quite good. My ocean view suite was spacious and well appointed and maintained. The private sand beaches are quite nice there are four of them. The resort is very large with plenty of dining options which they provide a 30 euro discount. Had dinner at the Peruvian/Japenese restaurant and it was great. The service was very excellent overall, friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The lobby is dated and would truly benefit from a contemporary refresh, first impressions are important. There are very nice water sport offerings for an extra charge but reasonable. The gym is very nice there are a few, and you have quite a few pools to chose from. The location is paradise with sweeping views of the see and mountains. Upgrading your room is well worth it. Highly recommend for a relaxing time in Eastern Crete. A taxi into town Agios Nikolaus is 15 euros and 15 minutes. The town is very charming with plenty to do, shopping, dinning and bars.
Great location, first class service. Good food (excellent buffet). Everything well thought out. We really enjoyed our stay and we would be happy to go back.
Very pretty resort, with very beautiful private beach/pools/bars on the water and nice restarants, in a quiet and secluded yet very well connected spot next to the cute towns of Agios Nikolaos and Elounda. Good food options for breakfast and dinner (did half board). My only negative comment is that, being a luxury 5 star hotel, they need to offer complimentary water to their guests, considering how hot is the weather. Also, I found the way they hid minibar menu pricing quite malicious, it was literally hidden in a different drawer than the minibar and found it by chance (in other luxury resorts I’ve been, it’s always been free). Besides, water was so overpriced and well above the price capped by the Greek government (maybe they think tourists don’t know?!). Again, this is minor, but got annoyed, as I felt deceived.
Dated and shabby property. Needs update in rooms and common spaces. Food was just ok or average. Coffee not very good. Beach water had garbage washing up. Our room was complimentary updated when we arrived and some of the staff were very kind.
It was a fantastic three day stay over the Easter period.
Very peaceful place with a nice private beach. Great for relaxing
Everything was great: place, service, facilities!
We loved it! Amazing grounds, food, beach. Staff.
It’s a very pretty hotel. It is run professionally. It is in a great location with a very picturesque private beach. Drinks and food is pricey for Greece. The personnel were very friendly. Rooms are getting a bit old but everything was clean and in working order. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone considering to stay in this part of Crete.
Wonderful sraff who made me feels so at home.
