Kivotos Mykonos - Preferred Hotels & Resorts

Overall we had a lovely trip at Kivitos. Upon arrival we were meant to have Prosecco in our room for our anniversary, but this wasn’t there so my fiancé had to go and ask for this. They then proceeded to give us 2 bottles and also another one when we celebrated our engagement a few days later, which was very kind of them and much appreciated!!

Staff are all really friendly, especially the lovely young man on reception of the evenings, always happy to help and so kind! And then the older lady serving breakfasts was very nice too.

Breakfast is table service. It was really yummy food each day, however the service was fairly slow at times and we felt that the older couples were much more favoured and attended to than we were being a younger couple.

WiFi is not the best and we struggled to get a good connection in our room. The cleanliness was okay, but not up to the 5* standard you’d expect. It was missing the finer attention to details throughout the hotel and we felt the pool area was quite run down and dirty, which is why I wouldn’t say this hotel was 5*.

Lovely location though, just a 10 min walk to Ornos beach and the bus stop to Mykonos town.

Overall we did have a really lovely trip to Kivotos, but would recommend some tlc to rooms and updated images on the site (which it appeared they were doing on our last day, as a model and camera crew were filming throughout the hotel).

4) mattress and pillows of such bad quality that even a motel in the US is better
5) curtains that suddenly hang from the corner unhooked!

list is endless and one star is given for the smiling and delicious breakfast.

Choosing this hotel completely ruined our holiday. The room we were given first was nothing like the room advertised. After 3 nights, we were moved into a better room that looked more like the photos on the website but everything about this hotel is old and tired. It’s in need of a complete renovation. There is nothing five star about it. The sun beds are torn and dirty. The pool area and toilets are dirty. The bathrooms were dirty and moldy, the towels were really old. The waiters/waitresses never offer you a drink when you’re around the pool area. The best thing about this hotel was breakfast where the staff were lovely and the food was great. The restaurant is fine dining and we were given a complimentary meal due to us complaining about the room but it was just as bad as everything else. The drinks are overpriced and the cocktails are average! It just had a bad feel to it - we wanted laidback and it just felt chaotic. It’s absolutely nothing like the photos and as marketed! We couldn’t leave quick enough - we’re looking forward to getting home. We feel completely ripped off because it wasn’t cheap. Needs downgrading to a 3 star!

Very disappointed with our stay. The room did not match the photos shown online — it was much older, poorly maintained, and definitely not five-star quality. The bathroom was dirty, with mold and a bad smell. When we complained, the staff just blamed the travel agency instead of taking responsibility. This is unacceptable for the price we paid. Do not trust the pictures you see when booking — the reality is very different. Would not recommend.

Moldy bathrooms, clogged shower drains, no waiter, chair umbrella etc service at beach, food quality was pretty basic and room view not what was described for an upgraded luxury suit. Private pool was always dirty. 3 star at best.

I booked a room at Kivotos Mykonos months in advance, with the clear expectation—based on the photos and description—that I would be staying in a renovated, modern room. Upon arrival, this turned out to be completely untrue. The room provided had nothing to do with what was advertised: old, unrenovated, and absolutely not like the photos shown.

When I immediately raised this issue, I was offered an alternative room, but that one was in the exact same poor condition. To make matters worse, after my arrival the hotel actually changed the photos on Booking.com, adding pictures of the old, unrenovated rooms. To me, this is clear proof of deliberate misleading information.

Because I had booked months in advance, I was not willing to accept moving between rooms during my stay. I expected a peaceful, consistent stay in the room as advertised, and that was simply not possible.

For this reason, I chose not to stay at the property and immediately filed a complaint with Booking.com.

⚠️ Warning to future guests: do not be misled by the glossy photos online. The reality is completely different, and transparency and honesty toward guests are lacking.

A five-star hotel operating this way is, in my view, absolutely unacceptable.

Great service! Elena was our favorite, she was so sweet & helpful during our stay. We came for our honeymoon & enjoyed it very much, the views from the hotel are breathtaking and the food was top notch.

We spent a wonderful 12 days at Kivitos and had such a lovely time. The hotel complex is stylish, beautiful and surrounded by delightful views of the bay and well kept gardens. We had a junior suite which on the whole was nice though it had some signs of wear and tear and a faulty shower. The staff were absolutely wonderful, always happy to help and interested in your day. The service was on the whole very good, sometimes when busy you had to wait a long time but generally they were very attentive. Breakfast was included and there was a large variety of options. The pool is lovely as are the beds down by the private beach. The staff were always ready to answer questions and offer advice. Some of the staff go out of their way to make your stay memorable and we will always remember them. A small improvement I would suggest is that the pool bar staff walk around now and again to check if there is anything they can get for you. Though poolside service was quick I think this would be a lovely step up

Kivotos Mykonos exceeded all our expectations. The hotel offers breathtaking sea views, beautifully designed rooms, and complete tranquility – perfect for relaxing. The staff were incredibly professional and friendly, always ready to help with restaurant bookings, activity recommendations, or anything else we needed. We especially loved the private beach and the delicious breakfast made with fresh local ingredients. A perfect spot for a romantic getaway or honeymoon!

This hotel is the perfect blend of traditional Greek architecture and modern luxury. Every detail is thoughtfully curated – from the handpicked furniture to the artwork throughout the property. We stayed in a room with a private pool and absolutely loved the sense of privacy. The spa services and restaurant were both top-tier. Kivotos has a truly unique atmosphere – you feel like a guest in a luxurious villa, not just a tourist in a hotel. We can’t wait to return!

The property is a bit dated and the layout is peculiar, the decor is a bit odd and random (think tortoise statues, banksy art and then classic Greek tones). Our room, a suite, was okay but dated as well. The wind was intense overnight, which is fine, but the shutter wasn't tightly closing, so it made for a noisy night.

We were a big group of 12 people,and there were only a handful of other guests but we had to follow up on requests, run up and down the stairs at the pool to get a menu and service.

The music at the pool was way too loud and intense (high-energy club music) for the middle of the day, seeming an odd choice.

They don't have a transfer option - this costs an additional EUR60 for up to 4 people, which seems excessive as a lot of the other hotels on the island provide this as a courtesy.

Overall with the fees charged in mid-June, I think it is very overpriced for what is delivered.

Kivotos Mykonos was one of the most incredible places I’ve ever stayed. The views are absolutely surreal — like something off a postcard. Every staff member was kind, helpful, and truly cared about making our stay amazing. The food and cocktails were out of this world, and every detail felt elevated and thoughtful. Whether relaxing by the water or enjoying a sunset dinner, everything about this place felt like a dream. I would come back in a heartbeat.

I came to Kivotos Hotel with a group of friends, and we were blown away by the experience. The service was top-notch from start to finish. Friendly, attentive staff who made us feel right at home. The rooms were stunning with amazing views of the sea, and the whole place had such a relaxing, luxury vibe. There was always something to do, whether it was lounging by the pool, enjoying the private beach, or exploring nearby spots.
