De liggen van het hotel was mooi en de kamer was groot. Vriendelijk personeel.
Het ontbijt was matig helaas.
Breakfast was adequate, but nothing special for the money. We were staying for my brother's wedding, and had travelled from Leicester. He was getting married just down the road at East Horton golf club so it was conveniently located. We were offered a free drink at the bar for the inconvenience of the lighting issue upon arrival.
The room was dusty, and generally not 100% clean. The decor of the room and the hotel generally felt dated. The lights in the room weren't working when we arrived, though this was resolved after talking to reception and we were offered free drinks. There were only enough towels for 2 people in a 4 person family room so we had to ask for more which were delivered after a bit of a delay. Food and drinks from the bar were very expensive. We had a fire alarm go off in the middle of the night on Saturday at about 3am, seemingly caused by room 117 which woke the whole hotel up. We never had an explanation, but I assume someone was smoking in that room as after about 5-10 minutes the alarm stopped. It wasn't handled that well, and seemed to be left to other guests to deal with the situation. It was very confusing and left us all with disturbed sleep, and no idea if the situation was dealt with or not. I felt sorry for the hotel staff, it seemed like they were short on staff the whole of our stay. The swimming pool wasn't available during our stay which was disappointing. I thought generally the hotel was nowhere near good enough to justify the price we paid.
The property is in a very lovely location
The property looks very tired and is in need of a refit
Clean tidy , good staff
Cheap uncomfortable bed, shame because the rest was good
Friendly helpfully staff
Nothing
Check-in staff very helpful. Rectified room issue straight away. Bar staff very pleasant and friendly. Bed was comfy
First room patio door didn’t lock but room change to rectify.
No mattress protector/ cover.
Paid for late check out 2hrs but at quarter to eleven which is normal check out time we were disturbed by the cleaners.
Great location and proximity to nature. The rooms were clean and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom was very nice - clearly newly renovated. Peace and quiet area . Great for long trip .
A beautiful place but there are no paths for walking or an outdoor area for relaxation. Its sad because the air outside is so good and healthy .
Staff are very good
Pillows to high for me
Coffee wasn't too strong.
It was nice but no alternative eggs other than scrambled, no black pudding, no gluten free bread & for almost £15 a head you could include sausages from a local producer?
Easy to find
Paid for early check in. No staff members on reception on arrival, waited 20minutes, bar staff just stared at us.
Breakfast was shocking. Dry bacon, cheap fake sausage, no tomatoes, no mushrooms, food don’t come out at the same time.
Mc Donald’s provide better food.

Location and ambience
Carpets and walls were a little tired and dirty
Pleasant rural setting. Accepted dogs. Comfortable bed. Quiet. Enjoyed breakfast. Handy for zoo.
Shower or toilet leaking. From the stain on the floor, it looked like this was not new.
External communal metal mesh balcony noisy when people were using it. Also brought them really close to our open sliding door. Could be designated emergency use only for mitigation of privacy and potential noise issues.
The room was large and well appointed. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean.
The furnishings were tired.. The toilet flush in the room was barely functioning. The door lock didn't work well and the front lock plate fell off.
The staff were generally not well engaged, although not actually unpleasant, just illl trained and lacking interpersonal skills with one or two exceptions. You need to do some training on effective customer service .
The breakfast was truly unsatisfactory. The hot buffet was poor. The dishes were not kept filled, so we had to ask for scrambled eggs( which were truly horrible, reconstituted , watery, tasteless rubbish ) hash browns only arrived after we had finished, the sausages were pallid and had pretty much no discernable meat content . The bacon was the only thing worth eating. And the beans were cheap and watery. We had to ask for more bread, the staff, for whatever reason were not on top of keeping the breakfast ingredients topped up.
The coffee was drinkable.
