Pros:

Beautiful hotel, lovely staff couldn't do enough for us. The bunk broke in our room, and they moved us to a bigger better room and gave us a free evening meal.

Cons:

It would have been better if it was more accessible by public transport. And if the pool was open.

Lovely stay, will be back.
Pros:

The room was much bigger than expected, very clean all around and the bed/pillows were very comfortable, we were even surprised to see that our room came with a small balcony. We were in a connecting room but you barely noticed. Will definitely be back.

Cons:

The area outside of our room was a bit messy but both my partner and I work in a hotel so we understand.

Old hotel. Thin walls. Loud fire alarms. Unclean outside but nice staff
Pros:

Room was dated but nice

Cons:

The walls are so thin, you can literally hear your neighbours on the loo. Didn’t help the fire alarm went off twice in the middle of the night and reading reviews shows this is a regular occurance. All rooms were connected by communal walkway so dogs get jumpy by lots. And the outside of the hotel had a dog walk that had a large amount of glass from what appears to be a smashed mirror and outside of the room in a communal area were piles of bottles, towels and coat hangers that were left for the entirety of 18 hours there.

Fire alarm
Pros:

Was comfy and clean. The people at the desk even let us leave our bike gear in the locked cupboard for the day so we didn't have to lug it around the zoo!!

Loved the forest feel we got. Was a great way to get us in the feel for the next day at the zoo!

Definitely would come again.

Cons:

We had a fire alarm (sounded like an intruder alarm) at 12:30 ISH.

Me and my partner found it was Way to loud and because of the extreme volume it was panic inducing especially from being asleep. I was ok after realising it was a fire alarm as I'm used to hearing them for work and my time in the RNLI being woken up by pagers. However my partner froze solid. As she thought someone was going to break in and kill us and took over a hour to calm down enough to get some sleep.

I'm not sure what the registrations are but I've never heard a fire alarm that loud and that kind of noise before.

We loved our stay and would definitely stay again as something like that can't be predicted and is not the hotels fault as someone had accidentally set it off.

Just wanted to mention because of how loud it was and that it wasn't the normal fire alarm noise we know.

Avoid for long stay. Poor quality of everything
Pros:

Some staff friendly, some not. Comfy bed

Cons:

Food, poor quality and highly priced, manager ignorant, telling a member of staff outside my door that the member had made huge mistake .sounded threatening.....never engaged in polite conversation. Hotel cleanliness was poor. Sticky dining tables on most tables

Pros:

Lovely style. You felt you were staying in a colonial government rest house transported from the 1950s or 60s with updated plumbing, and the charm of being surrounded by a bit of wild Africa.

It does the job.
Pros:

Beds were comfortable, room was clean. Location is nice with hotel surrounded by forest. Staff were great, nice and polite. Hotel does the job but very basic, don't expect much.

Cons:

Pool was closed and info was not widely available. Breakfast is basic, not of great quality / variety. Room had a strong smell of paint. A bit pricey for the facilities in general.

Pros:

The room was clean, spacious and the lovely big bed was comfortable.

Cons:

The breakfast was not great. Overcooked dried out bacon and very basic sausages. No choice of how eggs were cooked. Only scrambled. No a great choice of cereals.

Pros:

The property is very cute and unique also so close to the zoo which is also a must visit! All staff we encountered were very lovely and welcoming.

Cons:

We must have been in the old part as the bed was uncomfortable but that’s a personal preference on how you like your bed and the bathroom window didn’t close but staff were great about the window when I mentioned it as we was leaving as it hadn’t been mentioned too them. Rooms are very hot
