The room facilities such as coffee and tea making were not as expected. There was no dinking water in the room. The bath was dangerous . The restaurant food was very basic, one of us is coeliac and was only able to have one choice, we ended up going somewhere else to eat. The breakfast was poor, flies on the hot food and limited choice. Overall very disappointing

Too warm, fans are noisy and not effective, room was smelly like paint, our asthma conditions for the entire family hot worse, couldn’t sleep for the entire night, and had to cancel all our plans in the area and leave after the 1st night.

The hotel was 'tired' in many areas. The grounds could be beautiful but appeared in many areas not to be cared for. The breakfast was ok but quite basic. The dinner menu was very poor especially for vegetarians with many items not available. Only 1 dessert option and no ice cream! There appeared little link with the zoo next door. The hotel has so much potential to be a very good resort but seemed to lack imagination in decor. It could be like a mini animal kingdom lodge , Disney Florida, and a real fun place to be with some creative design and ideas. It doesn't seem to reach its full potential at all. We love the zoo and the bed room was fine, the receptionists were very helpful. We were directed to an amazing restaurant nearby.

Contractors were working throughout the day and into the night in the adjacent hotel building. When the contractors finished work, they then put on their music until very late. Despite trees, the rooms are too hot in the summer, and there is no air-con and the windows don't open more than a few cm.

Cleaning could be slightly beter but still very good. Would deffo stay again.

I had booked for a double room and it was a modern room. The room I got was very dirty and disgusting. You will be able to see from the pictures they have put up on booking.com and the room I had got. The bathroom was disgusting and seems like no one cleans it. Toilet doesn’t even flush properly. Breakfast was a bad start. Not enough food or it was just finished when we got there. I will not be staying here again. I rather give my money to Holiday Inn

I was disappointed that the swimming pool was out of action. I only learned about this AFTER I had made my booking. This shortfall should have been reflected in a lower room price.

Was really disappointed that when I booked our break away, I wasn't told that the hotel had maintenance plans to close the swimming pool. Which really upset the grandchildren. I eneded up having to find a swimming pool on route to stop and take them all swimming, which cost me another £140 pounds. I did complain to the hotel about not informing me until a few weeks before our stay. But they didnt seem bothered.

There is a lot of renovation work going on , a lot disturbing noise , we were asked to move rooms due to wanting to do work in the original room , then placed into a horrible dark room , the bed was too hard and had a very uncomfortable night , they also didn’t give us enough towels for the room .

Very dated, noisey and falling apart. Taps temperatures are opposite to what it says, when I turned on the cold tap, I burned myself in the scolding hot water

Door hinges falling off handles missing

Would benefit from extraction in bathroom

It is an older type building and perhaps needs some repair or updating - the drain of the shower wasn’t working very well, but apart from that everything worked very well.
