Welcoming, clean and comfy and close to everything in Banff
Pros:

A very welcoming hotel. Great location for accessing Banff on foot as well as shuttle buses and transit vehicles. Great staff, nice ambiance, restaurant offers warm atmosphere and good selection for breakfast and dinner. The hotel is doing some renovations and this didn’t impact my stay in regards to noise or mess

I couldn’t fault my room or my stay

For the extra money we paid, it was definitely not worth paying more for this hotel.
Pros:

Great location and located a short walk to downtown Banff. Spectacular staff as everyone went out of their way to greet us. Nice lobby. The restaurant was excellent and they offer a wonderful breakfast. The bar/lounge was very cozy as well. Our room was large, bright and very clean. I think once the renovations are completed, the hotel will be beautiful.

Cons:

The noise. I understand they are doing a renovation... we came for a quick 2 night relaxation trip... just after 8am we were waken by loud construction noises. It continued, so much for a rest. It kinda wrecked our morning as we had planned to sleep in since we haven't done that in months at home... we received 2 puppies at Christmas and they haven't slept the entire night yet. The price we paid didn't reflect the comfort we were expecting. We upgraded to this hotel expecting something more, but that didn't happen. We should have stayed at the original hotel we usually stay at.

Although the rooms are redone they are not the most comfortable. Closet in the washroom is strange

The restaurant is not very good - perhaps just focus on serving a really good breakfast - the pizza night was horrendous

Our favorite hotel in Banff, period!
Pros:

This is our favorite hotel and staff in Banff! We have been coming here over the years and can’t say enough about the entire crew. Everyone here worked to make our stay great, as they always do!

Our concierge Neil arranged some amazing activities for us. He is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and we are fairly certain there isn’t anyone he doesn’t know or can’t call in Banff!

The Chef and team…Fantastic. Bartenders…Great!
Housekeeping…Excellent.

For the record, my wife and I both started out as servers young in life, so we know what good service is…and how hard it can be to please world travelers like us…and this is it! RCL nails it.

Great staff but the property is fairly dated. Will be better once the renovations are complete.
Pros:

Staff were very friendly. They were very helpful when we had questions and we were pleased to receive an upgrade at checkin.

Cons:

The shower was dated and the shower head sprayed in many directions, including over the shower door into the bathroom, making the floor very wet! The bed was old and very, very creaky.

Great stay
Pros:

Nice big rooms, sliding doors to the outside is a great feature for the summer months. Spacious lobby area. Close walk to the shops and restaurants. Would stay again.
