close to all the action of banff town without being right in the center - restaurants, grocery, and stores all within walking distance. train station is 15-20 mins walking or 5 min car ride. the price (for essentially a 2bed/1 bath with kitchenette) was decent for it being the beginning of summer peak season and a relatively late booking.
it was nice having a kitchenette in our room to make an easy dinner or reheat leftovers, but you would need to bring your own oil & spices as this is not like an airbnb.
there is an indoor pool and hot tub but we never used them - too tired after being in the parks all day!
staff was friendly and very helpful. no breakfast at the lodge but there is a water/coffee bar and a fruit bowl.
parking should be included for the price. there were several hairs clumped on the bathroom and kitchen floors when we arrived - like it hadn't been swept or vacuumed properly. the layout of the lodge was also quite odd and became a running joke in the family about how to find our room as we were on the side quite a bit aways from the elevator.
there's no breakfast in the lodge itself; we were given vouchers for a sister restaurant ($15 off per day, regardless of the number of people staying in the room) but ended up not using them -- went to the local grocery and bought things to prepare ourselves.
our 2 rooms were connected by a shared kitchenette and bathroom, but only one bedroom had a door to the shared area - and it was the one with the AC unit. the other bedroom did not have a door and got a bit warm.
Good location, clean, small kitchen. Decor old but we liked that. Pool and hot whirlpool.
Car parking charge.
Clean, had everything necessary for a functional stay, dog friendly, good location
Rooms are a little dated but that's ok!
We loved the junior suite. The hotel staff is very nice.
Our room is spacious and clean.
The pool and hot tub- loft option. Easy parking, the staff
It was a little under maintained in the room.
Location and pet friendly
It’s a bit tired … and dated
Tiles are falling off the wall in pool area
Location, size of rooms was good, tv’s and beds were good.
For the cost per night, somethings could be improved, like better utensils in the small kitchenette, the air conditioning noise from the room next door was loud overnight making.it difficult to sleep. The provided map of the facility could be improved and clearly show the stair access, some salt and pepper sachets would have been useful
As indicated above everything was adequate
We had to ask for sheets and pillows for the pull out bed. We specified 3 guest and thought it would be obvious we’d need bedding for the third
I love character and have stayed here before
Our room was completely uneven. We live in an older home, so I’m fine with squeaks and imperfections, but our entire room was on an angle and made you feel dizzy based on how uneven the flooring was, we found four cherry pits all over one side of the bed on the floor, pool was closed, but was not disclosed in advance to me and they said we could use the Royal Canadian next-door, but it was about four buildings down and not convenient at all. Called for a late checkout at noon and a guy came in at 11 even though we were yelling that we were still in the room and then we went to open the door he was gone. Our TVs were barely working, and it would cut in and out of a black screen, and then when it did have a screen, it would be shaky.
Close to town and quiet.
The only thing I had a problem with iOS the bathroom door was heavy to pull and there was mold on the ceiling and on the walls. That turned me right off seeing that. The room we stayed in 211.
