My main comment about this hotel concerns its free airport shuttle service. We arrived at Terminal 1, Marseille airport, at about 2100 on a Friday evening in October, and it was dark. It was easy to find the general area where hotel shuttle buses stopped, and we saw one or two shuttle buses – with their respective hotel logos clearly visible – drop or collect passengers from time to time. I rang the hotel and told them we wanted to be collected from Terminal 1, and that seemed fine. After about 20 minutes, I rang again (this time using a telephone point specifically for identified airport hotels, located in the waiting area: I hadn’t noticed it before). The agent acknowledged that it was the second time I’d called, and advised that the shuttle would be there shortly. We waited optimistically.
Eventually, we were approached by a young lady who had been lingering for a short while not too far from us. She spoke – naturally enough – in French, and asked if we were waiting for “a bus”. Slowly, it became clear that she was actually the driver of the Styles shuttle bus … and so, finally, off we went. The shuttle bus was simply a generic black van – with no identifying logos of any kind. In fact, several identical such vans had already traversed the area. The only item which identified this vehicle as the Styles shuttle bus was a printed piece of paper stuck on with Sellotape to the van’s side window. It was not obvious at all, especially in the dark.
The hotel itself was fine for an overnight stay. The staff were friendly, and we enjoyed a relaxing breakfast the following morning. But the shuttle bus needs to be much more clearly marked, Failing that (or in addition), the driver should be issued with some kind of placard (like airport taxi drivers often use) clearly showing the hotel that they are servicing. It would have made our arrival much less stressful.
Basic items for continental breakfast, a couple selections of cheese, 3 types of sliced meats( ham , chicken and another type of ham, juice and bread and pastries
This place is more like 80’s student accommodation… “basic” would be charitable. Dirty carpets, no kettle for goodness sake. Underwhelming breakfast and nothing for dairy or gluten intolerant. Positives… air con sort of works and the shower is good.
The checking was great. Front desk was super friendly
The check out was horrible 4:30 am front desk different guy was rude when we ask if we could turn or the coffee machine,
kept the main gate close we rang the bell a few time… our uber wanted to leave I had to run back inside couldn’t find the guy for a solide 5 minutes ( you know Ubers don’t wait that long) he was hiding in the back on the phone.
smelly, room doors dont open or close properly, aircon positioned incorrectly, for one night ok, near the airport too.
The hotel decor is quirky. The staff and shuttle are great as is the breakfast buffet. The room was a bit weak: No refrigerator, 1 pillow per bed, only 1 hand towel for 2 people, no shampoo, conditioner, nor lotion.
Arrived at the hotel with a lot of luggage. No luggage trolley so had to do two trips. The lady behind the desk was helpful and apologetic that the room was in the other block of the hotel and very far away. Had to cart up a few steps too. Got to the room, unbearably hot. The AC was useless and the room was 32 degrees! Didn’t even get under the duvet or into the bed because it was so hot. No water, fridge, tea/coffee facilities. The room was just too hot. Breakfast was also awful. People mauling the food and poor selection. Never again! Complained about the room to the morning staff and she couldn’t care less. Not even an apology.
We needed an overnight near the airport as our flight was arriving late at night. It was clean friendy, good value for money and the breakfast was very good. I accidentally left precious jewelry behind in the bedroom. The reception were most helpful in locating the jewelry when I rang them after my departure.
I returned to collect them on my way to the airport when I was returning home. Once again the staff were very helpful and courteous and even organized that we travel onwards to the airport in their complementary shuttle bus. I am so grateful to the staff at the hotel and the driver of the shuttle bus.
We had booked this hotel as our flight was arriving at 8.30pm and we wanted somewhere close. It was very good having the hotel shuttle. My husband contacted the hotel to ask if the restaurant would be open when we arrived and was told there would be snacks available until 10pm. We arrived just before 9.30pm and told no food available on our arrival.
We checked in and was given a room, on opening the door to the room we found someone else’s suitcases in there. We went back to the hotel reception and given another room key. This time on opening the door we found a family asleep in bed! We returned to reception and this time the clerk went to the room to check the room was empty and ready for us.
We found the bed to be comfortable.
The following morning when I was in the bathroom a lady came into our room without knocking! She opened the door and then closed the door. After a couple of minutes she knocked the door and asked if we could close the window in our room.
Breakfast was good with plenty of variety.
The hotel had a nicely decorated and modern reception and cafe area. The garden was not quite as nice as pictured online, and the hotel is in the middle of an industrial area, surrounded by main roads.
The rooms were ok- beds quite hard and no facilities to make tea, coffee, nor a fridge / mini bar.
The breakfast was tasty and nice- that gets 4*! Traditionally French.
About 8 minute drive from the airport.
Accommodated my last minute needs of requiring wheelchair accommodations.
Other than a bed for the night, was pretty awful. Had a siren going off all night from the industrial estate next door. When I complained I was merely told tgeees nothing they could do about it.
The one positive was the polite gentleman working on the front desk.
The room was soundproof, nice and clean with a comfortable bed and lovely soft pillows. The breakfast was OK. The only complaint was the distance from reception to the elevator. Close to the airport with airport shuttle for those without a car.
Excellent
Breakfast not much available- vegetarians tend to miss out on variety.
Nice quiet place close to MRS airport. They have airport shuttle. Very quiet clean rooms
Lack of shower curtain and towels was upsetting. I thought the early check in fee was way excessive. Not a good experience.
Firstly - the staff are great and the issue is with the design of the hotels and the bedrooms in particular.
+
Plenty of parking
10mins from airport
Pool
Outside area
Nice bar
Restaurant is ok

-

Over priced
Not recommended
Narrow corridor and entry to room
Toilet is tiny and hardly any room to move
Happy with property
We stayed at the Ibis Styles in early August this year and found the staff to be really friendly and helpful. The feel of the hotel is a kind of Premier Inn with a bit more fun for the kids: it has a small pool and a table football and pool table. The restaurant is nice too. The overall vibe of the place is nice too and the airport themed rooms appealed to our children. The hotel is next to the main trunk road and you can see the road signs from the pool but I’d say this is a quirky feature rather than a negative. We didn’t have a car so the hotel shuttle bus picked us up from Marseille airport and returned us free of charge. We used the hotel as a base to visit Aix after a couple of days in Marseille itself. To summarise this is a nice cheerful stop off for a couple of days. Good value.
