BEAUTIFUL location! Right across from the beach and tram. There is a busy road that separates the hotel from the station but the noise cancelling walls and glass doors work really well. Motorcycles are VERY popular so keep that in mind if you’re a light sleeper. I recommend ear plugs for an extra cushion. The black-out curtains work great especially since theres a lovely little light on the patio that is great for midnight wine and ocean views. The staff are so nice and accommodating. Georgos was a delightful man to be around and taught me how to make Greek Coffee (the right way!) when he saw i had been standing there watching water boil for 20 minutes lol. He remembered my name, the front desk staff always said hello to us when we were coming in and going out. They also helped us book excursions and even wrote down directions for which train station to get off at when going to the Acropolis! When it was raining they even gave us umbrellas! Though there is an option to book a cab to/ from the airport through the hotel, i recommend catching a cab from the airport and taking the train back, its a bit cheaper. The station has three main lines that are pretty much able to get you anywhere you need to go in the city. You do have to take connecting trams and busses and walk a bit sometimes but you can get a 24hr ticket for 4,20€ which is a fabulous deal because you not only get to use them for any train/ bus, but they also get you in and out of the subway station which you would otherwise have to pay for. Remember, walking is common here because streets and blocks are small, there is a lot packed into Athens and a 30minute walk feels like 15 because there is so much to see and you cover so much ground. Wear comfortable shoes and you’ll be just fine! There is a 24 hour Kiosk right across the road that has everything a midnight snacker could want. Pathways and roads nearby are very well lit so i felt safe going out to get some stuff in the middle of the night. There is an everything-you’ll-ever-need store DIRECTLY next door, pharmacy, groceries, liquor, toiletries and common miscellaneous forgotten items when packing are sold there, it’s great! Like a multi-story Walmart. The hotel is clean and well kept, most of the staff are bilingual/ multilingual so there is always someone to help when needed. Room service runs late and the lovely staff members that clean the rooms are very respectful of your stuff. There is an option to say “no” to cleaning when you leave your room. You simply press a button on a small panel just inside the rooms door that connects to a cool little digital screen on the outside wall of your door to let staff know whether or not you want them to clean. It has a wee doorbell as well for when room service comes (I recommend the Clubhouse or the Crispy Spinach Rolls and the Profiteroles for dessert). We got a complimentary bottle of wine when we got here which was so nice. The showers are clean and have two different heads to choose from, the sinks are wide, there is a shower door (in some hotels there is not) and the locks all work well. A large window and short wall divided our main room from our bathroom which was a bit of a shock. There are blinds but they’re a little transparent. I don’t know if thats all of the rooms though. Great if you’re with a lover, bad if your with your mother! C’est La Vie. The closet has hangers that don’t come out which are nice to hang jackets or dresses. They also have clips if you want to hang skirts/pants and drawers for things you're ok to fold. We didn't find many english channels on TV but honestly, if you're watching TV in Greece and barricading in the room instead of exploring… go to the beach lol. The beds are comfy, covers are warm, pillows are nice and soft. There is no AC in the non-summer months but FEAR NOT, they give you a fan if you ask and it works wonders. Its also quiet so thats a plus. Free WIFI! The rooftop bar has cool cocktails and they do NOT cheap out on the liquor, the menu is pretty much the same for room service as it is up there but theres plenty to choose from and a beautiful view to accompany it. The complimentary breakfast is always good, fresh fruit and veggies, lots of olive oil, jams, jelly's, spreads and honey up the wazoo, plenty of choices to satisfy the more picky of eaters and options for those who want to try something new! Bonus: you’re never judged for going in for seconds! There’s lots of shopping near by and a great restaurant across the street on the beach “EDEM” (amazing Τξαξικι). Beside that there is the “Poseidon Athens Beach Bar” where the hotel owns a beach front bar, chairs and umbrellas in the proper seasons, options for food and plenty to drink. Over all I would definitely stay here again and would 100% recommend!
we like location the most near beach, metro and restaurants, very helpful staffs, thank you all. hotel is old but renovated and clean. break fast is good but menu is similar every days, i think they can make it different to better service.
The room was impeccably clean and very comfortable, with a beautiful sea view that made the stay even more enjoyable. The staff truly made the difference — exceptionally friendly, professional, and always willing to help with a warm smile. Their attentiveness and genuine hospitality exceeded our expectations and made us feel truly welcome throughout our stay.
The food was high quality and delicious, offering great variety and flavor. The location is also excellent, with very convenient access to public transportation, making it easy to explore the area.
Overall, a wonderful experience that we would highly recommend.
Magnificent hotel with a fantastic breakfast, my wife and I loved it. Clean rooms, incredible sea view, full bathroom. Close to markets and restaurants and with free parking. But the best is yet to come, the reception staff and the rest of the team are spectacular. In the same vacation we booked this hotel twice!
"We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The location was perfect,! Our room had a breathtaking view of the sea. The rooms were spotless, modern, and very comfortable. What really stood out, was the staff—they were incredibly welcoming! The breakfast was also delicious with a wide variety of options and also the staff there were incredible! We will definitely be back!"
Great value hotel opposite the beach and the tram (Edem station). Easy to travel to the city of Athens or Glyfada, on the coast. Facilities are comfortable and clean, staff is helpful and smiling!
A wonderful clean and modern hotel for those looking to stay out of town and by the sea. Great transport options right outside the hotel. The best part of this hotel are the staff. They were so helpful and kind. I definitely recommend this Hotel to everyone who wants a lovely experience in Athens.
Excellent stay! The hotel was spotless and the rooms were very comfortable. What truly stood out, though, was the service; the staff was always available, friendly, and ready to help with anything we needed. Highly recommended!
I recently stayed at this hotel and was truly impressed. The location is amazing, right by the sea, and my room had a wonderful panoramic view that made every moment relaxing. The staff were very friendly, polite, and always willing to help, and the cleanliness throughout the hotel and in the room was excellent. I would definitely recommend this place and would happily stay here again.
This hotel is based right across the road from a beach , and as this is out of season we were told if the weather was nice we could use the pool even though sadly it wasn’t as warm but was still warm for the days out with shorts and shirts. The staff at this hotel are amazing and the view from the room , despite the road outside was glorious to sit and look at. The transport system from here for all the main historic sights was amazing. A 5 day tram bus metro ticket only €8 each. And the tram to Syntagma Square was every 9 minutes either way. And from there it was easy to walk the city and the main sights . We enjoyed strolling through the old city areas with the narrow streets and the friendly locals. We opted for not having any guided tours and within a few days saw all the main sights. There are many , not just the listed ones worth a web search. Food in Athens was amazing . See some of my other reviews for the ones we particularly liked. The food in the hotel is also great on the rooftop restaurant level 7 and the staff there Christos and Julia were fantastic and great to talk to. We would return to this hotel . The breakfasts fill you until the early afternoon with the all you want buffet. Great choice and good coffee and tea . With kids I’d say this was more an adult couples hotel as there is little for kids to do but for couples this is the ideal mix of beach and city with easy to get around both right on the doorstep. Easier and quicker than taxis or car. If your mobile to walk around.
Everything is perfect including location, rooms, breakfast, service, sea view of the rooms, food except parking shortage
I had a wonderful experience at Poseidon Athens Hotel! Everything was excellent… clean and comfortable rooms, friendly and attentive staff, and a very pleasant atmosphere throughout. The food was delicious, and the breakfast was rich, varied, and truly satisfying.
The rooftop terrace is absolutely amazing… it has a bar, a swimming pool, and breathtaking views of the sea and the city. The perfect place to enjoy a drink while watching the sunset.
I truly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Athens… an ideal choice for comfort, relaxation, and unforgettable views!
The hotel is located close to the sea, with a main street in between. The Tram stop "Edem" is very close (it takes minimum 90 Seconds to cross the street - very heavy traffic and it is nearly impossible to cross the streeet other than on the green light :) ) Tram 6 and 7 are both available, so that you can get to the city or to the Piraeus port. From our room in the 4th floor, we had an amazing view towards the sea. The room itself had everything we needed. The only "minus" was the noise from the street, if we wanted to sleep with an open window. Once we closed the window, the noise was acceptable. The breakfast was good and the restaurant not too crowded between 08:00 and 10:00 AM (but it was an out-of-season stay). We also tried the roof-top pool (but it was too cold at this time). It was clean and just OK.
Wonderful beachfront property. Near trainline. Walking distance to wonderful restaurants. So helpful. Great food from room service also. I would absolutely stay again. As a matter of fact, we did after we couldn’t get a flight out for two more days after our cruise. Very easy on the budget. Great prices.
Location was great, right by the beach. And the sky bar had a good view with nice cocktails. (would have loved to take an early morning coffee up there but opens 10).
If you decide to stay here do NOT go for "City view" of the concrete wall with ooz of deep fried.
Beds are terrible for couples that like each other as there's an edge/valley of 5 cm in the middle.
Friendly staff and great breakfast (especially the omelette. Ask for it :)
Very near to the flybus and local transportation.
During our stay at the hotel, we were satisfied with everything. The first floor is a bit noisy because of the road, but it’s not disturbing. The cleaner was very quiet, which is one of the best things during a vacation. Everything was super clear. Eva was very helpful and sweet, and she made the best cocktails — thank you to her!💖 The only thing I missed was an iron in the room. At breakfast, the staff worked beautifully!👏 The breakfast was very delacious. The receptionists were always kind, greeted us first, and smiled (that’s a big plus for us). And the beach bag is a very good idea!😍(we forget) I highly recommend this hotel to everyone. 😊THX

My wife and I had an enjoyable time which the Poseidon Hotel was part of. We know Athens well, however this trip involved the Alimos Marina which was close-by. Our stay at the Poseidon Hotel was essential to our sailing experience.
Great Location. Right opposite the beach and transport across the road. Easy access to central Athens on the No#6 Tram.
Nice modern hotel close to the Beach. Near tram to City center. Fantastic breakfast. Nice roof top pool and bar. Some traffic noise.
Very good hotel, excellent service and friendly staff. Breakfast at the the hotel was great. Perfect location with bus and tram stops being just outside the hotel.
The beach opposite the hotel was magic.
