I liked the location
I didn’t like that the room had very poor aircon. The aircon in the room did not cool the room, it looked like a very old model that did not work. This made our stay very uncomfortable. The beds were very hard. Room service could have been better in terms of urgency. I thought it was strange that you had to pay $100 if you sis not return a pool towel. The towels in the room were very small, and they need to provide more towels in the room as we had to shower several times due the poor condition of the aircon. The breakfast was not great, you need to find a way to keep food from going off. I will never book here again, I left with a heat rash on my neck due to sweating and not being able to cool down. The room was like a sauna for me and my cousin. The staff are great, however the advertising of the double deluxe room was great and did not live up to it.
Clean
N/A
Stayed for a month, appreciated the friendly staff, clean premises, no stray dogs or cats in premises, enjoyed the pool, gym, their gardens and fruits felt homely. Reception staff are very responsive and will fix issues quickly, water front to Apia harbour, close to town, ATM within the hotel, can pay hotel expenses with Australian debit or credit card, good wifi to watch a movie but not good for downloads, tv has 24/7 Cartoon Network in English, work desk in the room if it’s double deluxe room, overhead shower, hot water available 24/7, taxi easily available.
Cons:
1. Room service cutting corners- will not clean toilet, will only change bedsheets daily. No toilet brush in the bathroom either. There was no change to toilet clean despite reporting to the duty manager. The public toilet next to gym smells when you walk past.
2. Bar fridge in the room was 20-30 year old. Room was cooler than the fridge. You cannot safely store any milk or food in those fridge. There is kettle, tea bags, coffee, sugar, cup, 2 glass, iron and hair dryer , safe. (No microwave. No bedside lamp. No tissues).
3. Buffet breakfast is very good but it’s local food not continental. There is weetbix, cornflakes, bread, instant coffee. Porridge or pancakes served only once a week so not much healthy options. Most of the guests are locals and only 1% from Australia or NZ which explains why local food, rice, curry, Samoan soup served for breakfast. Egg station is good.
4. There are 2 boardrooms and a conference room, however there was a hesitation to make it available for some reason and needed insisting. The staff smoking area/ verandah is right outside the ground floor board room/ this needs to be changed as some of the windows/vents can’t be closed and you cannot smell it in the board room. Staff were also giggling and peeping into the board room frequently which was very unpleasant and annoying.
5. Deck bar only has 5,6 items on menu. Not even has Ola on menu. We went out to other restaurants like Lava hotel next door to eat or used muau app to deliver from other restaurants. They also charge 5 tala each time for room service.
6. There is no children’s play ground or children’s club onsite even though their website shows picture of child play equipment onsite.
7. Most attractions are 35-60 minutes away. Faleolo airport 45 minutes away.
8. Laundry is 10 tala for wash, 10 tala for dryer, 10 tala for soap each time.
9. Fia Fia night is 85 tala per person including buffet, have external guests attending.
10. Expensive, almost 7000 Australian dollars for 26 nights which is 12000 tala for deluxe room.
Good confortable beds and good facilities.
Waiting staff need to be more aware of general service to clients
Rooms were okay, location was perfect for the trip we had and also the bar was decent
Found it weird that we had to constantly put the signage card on our bed in order for housekeeping to change bed sheets etc ? I Would've thought that its automatic because had we not read the signage card then we wouldn't have known
Fantastic staff and resort. Walking distance to Apia. Great rooms. Reasonable prices, rooms are clean, great pool and food. Best place to stay in Apia
The staff
The location & the food was good.
Wifi was reasonable speed.
The pool was very dirty/ murky. Not well maintained, didn’t let my daughter swim In it after her first dip into it.
Aircon wasn’t as strong,
The staff were friendly, welcoming and approachable. The free breakfast was great, it was simple but there was a range of food and it did the job. The room was large and tidy, good shower pressure & the room serviced daily without any faults. The pool was warm, so we swam a bit, there are two pools one larger one so it never felt crowded.
We ate at the restaurant once for lunch, and we were disappointed by the food, it was average at best and not the freshest.
The staff.
The hotel was beautiful. Comfy bed and big room.
Our card wouldn’t let us in our room several times. We had to keep going back to reception to get it reprogrammed and even the door had to get new battery in it. Our shower glass could have done with a scrub and we had to keep a towel across the bottom of the shower glass cause it would leak water. Breakfast was nice but needs to be changed up a bit more everyday.
I was fortunate enough to spend 3 nights here in January and I loved it, from the hotel right through to the fabulous staff here.
Check-in was fast and the staff are fabulous.the room is clean , spacious with good air conditioning.
There are lots of amenities in the room like iron and board kettle tea and coffee and they top you up with 2 bottles of water and a little carton of fresh milk in your fridge every day.
The breakfast is basic but fine and the cook will do you a nice omelette of you’re choice on request.
Dinner is very limited. And there is only 2 sweets on offer. I ate twice and went out the third night.
I got transfers from the airport from discovery tours ( office in reception area) and had a great day out with them at reasonable prices, I can highly recommend them as well .
The only downside for me was there is no beach as such nearby, but I knew this and wanted to be near the town, which is well worth a visit.
There is of course a swimming pool , although it was quite busy with the kids, so I didn’t bother .
I would certainly recommend this hotel and although I have fallen in love with Samoa, I would return again and do a beach hotel as well , next time, for the best of both worlds. But, this place is also ideal for families. Thank you to all the staff and management here for making my stay such an enjoyable and unforgettable one .
