Excellent value for money, staff couldn’t do enough for us, would definitely stay again.
Pros:

We loved the proximity to the city centre, facilities fabulous.

Cons:

There is only one thing that lets the property down and that is the exterior decor. Looks like requires a re fresh in parts.

Disappointing!
Pros:

I booked a Premium Twin Room at Crowne Plaza Chester for my 30th birthday celebration, but upon arrival we were incorrectly allocated a double room.

After checking our booking confirmation, we called reception to explain the mistake and request the room type we had booked (Twim Room) Unfortunately, the hotel refused to rectify the error, and the interaction with a staff member named Robyn was disappointing and came across as rude and unhelpful.

What should have been a special occasion started on a very negative note due to poor customer service and the hotel's unwillingness to resolve their mistake. Unfortunately this ment we had to leave the hotel and find somewhere else to stay!

Excellent stay
Pros:

Superbly located hotel for those looking to explore Chester. Great range of amenities with large, open-plan bar, leisure facilities and quiet areas.

The hotel is inviting, staff are helpful and friendly and are smiling whilst they work.

Our room was a good size and had all the extras a family might need like hairdryer and iron. The kettle worked well and boiled quickly which was helpful for us making up bottles of milk for baby.

My highlight in this hotel is the cleanliness. I was so pleased to see housekeeping staff going about their duties. They were so helpful and sensitive of our needs with baby. The hotel is immaculately clean throughout, housekeeping staff are well presented and visible and are clearly proud of their space. I took a moment to give thanks to Head Housekeeper, Paula, who echoed her pride of her team and their hard work and commitment.

Thank you

Really very good.
Pros:

Room and bed very comfortable. Aircon worked well. We had a really good night's sleep.
All staff were friendly and helpful.
Waiting staff for dinner and breakfast were all excellent. Food was very good.

Cons:

Check in a bit slow initially as a group arrived with only one staff member there. When second arrived, it was much quicker.

Takes care of business but no soul
Pros:

Stopped here for one night en route from Scotland to the South. Disappointed to find out at check in that there was no separate club lounge but was told could get drinks at the main bar between 6 and 8pm. Bar staff not very welcoming when I asked which drinks were available to club lounge guests. Bedroom was excellent with great views out to Wales. At breakfast staff were also a bit vague about what was available to club lounge guests but the continental breakfast was pretty good. I do think that I should have been notified in advance about the club lounge not being available with the advertised services. The whole hotel is without character and the staff generally lacked warm welcoming attitudes.

The hotel is located right in the centre which was great for visiting the main sights.

SUNDAY DB&B at The Crowne Plaza Hotel, Chester
Pros:

The wonderful customer service. Very professional, efficient and friendly staff, throughout the hotel.
The reception, the bar/lounge area, restaurant, spa and bedrooms were all impressive.
Three names I particularly would like to mention for their friendly professional manner were Krisha, Christine and Louis, there were many other memorable staff members, unfortunately I didn't manage to get their names.
Great value price for a Sunday night stayover for DB&B.
Great location.

Cons:

One small detail, I found uncomfortable was having to crawl on the floor to plug in the hairdryer, kettle etc. It would have been more convenient to have electric sockets at desk height.
