Location was amazing and the cleanliness of the hotel was superb. But the best thing was the hotel staff, they were absolutely fantastic!
We had to leave it.
Every staff member went above and beyond throughout our stay. Highlights include: Pule, Promise and Keith delivering fabulous service and recommendations during breakfast, lunch and dinner (the Patagonia Squid Salad and Fish Platter are not to be missed); the chef preparing incredible takeaway breakfasts for my partner who left for golf before breakfast had started; and the spa being flexible to fit us in same day at a specific time (the massages were glorious).
We had booked a ‘standard double room’ but our room was very far from standard. It was beautifully furnished, large, comfortable and immaculately clean, serviced to an extremely high standard by a fabulous housekeeping team everyday. It had a huge terrace which was a fabulous place to watch the sunset. A bottle of wine and complimentary first round of the minibar was also a lovely touch.
If you would like a spectacular stay in one of the best hotels in South Africa (we’ve stayed in a fair few!) - then you need to stay at The Marine.

The locaiton is brilliant, very central and in walking distance to the main street. Beautiful views of the sea and very close to the catwalk for a lovely stroll.
The hotel decor is very outdated and needs a full refresh.
There was no view from the room despite it being in a great proximity to the sea.
The hotel feels old, rooms use keys, doors do not close well.
