The breakfast experience was terrible.
The breakfast, the room was very old.
Not much
Poor accessibility to elevators for the size of hotel since most did not work
Same problem when I stayed last November
Overall a good stay and nice hotel, not as good as our stays at Embassy Suites in Austin or San Antonio TX but much of that because, hello, Chicago is a gig city. Great breakfasts as usual and the suites are terrific for an old man and his wife who dont sleep well in the same room. Rooms have good facilities with plenty of computer-phone connections and all but the quiet was good.
Have stayed in hotels from San Fran to Las Vegas to New York and never had a less friendly check-in person as the young ?Chinese Asian man. Cannot people smile and greet you--or am I used to the South--we had a good dinner in the attached Pub and that young non-Asian waiter was equally non-forthcoming. (not at all prejudiced as many of my medical colleagues are Asian). One bank of elevators were not working, causing long lines, but assume that was a transient problem. More lasting would be the thin ceiling that allowed noise transmission--not noted in Austin or SA but perhaps less busy as this stay was over Memorial Day. Never happy about $65 per day parking especially no valet available and wish they had more than one bellman on Friday as we spent 20 minutes waiting for one, finally figuring out how to go up and check in--had to being all our stuff up to room ourselves.
Location
Weight room , hidden cost
Location and staff.
Its rooms are worn out. Needs to be updated to match the price. Bathrooms are very dingy don’t look white and clean. Didn’t take pics but should have. Also the room doors slam so loud our neighbors on both sides doors was slamming late into the early morning, they should be able to go as they please without it disturbing us. The hotel just needs to be majorly updated.
Breakfast
One set of elevators we’re working
Location was the only thing likable about this location
Only 1 set of elevators worked, pool area was messy and I cleaned everyday, had to walk with luggage up and down the emergency stairway to the top floor. Stairway was packed because everyone had to take that route. Old dirty couches/ let out bed. Room was worn and box spring were nasty.
The staff and overall cleanliness were excellent. We enjoyed the view of Chicago from our window. The breakfast was also a highlight for our family.
The pullout couch was caved in and not very comfortable.
My vehicle was stolen from their parking garage; most of the staff was unhelpful except one of the hotels security managers once I could get in contact with him.
Very convenient location near main Chicago attractions, well designed compact Premium suite, daily treats and efficient and helpful staff
The sofa bed was sagging and not
comfortable to use, specially for two people
Breakfast had a nice e selection however the eggs were very wet, I tried them twice and could not eat them. Including gluten free muffin or bread would be great.i have a gluten allergy and no bread options
The bar menu had no gluten free options at all. Salad is not a gluten free option it gets old having to choose a salad for every meal.
THE ELEVATORS WERE NOT WORKING PROPERLY!! LONG WAIT FOR THE ELEVATOR. Using the stairs was not an option for a handicap person. My husband would not be able to climb the stairs.
location, friendly staff
busy at all times, could’ve been cleaner
Location was perfect. Easy to get every where.
Beds are not very comfortable unless you like a hard bed.
I like it very much all I find here!
Everyone was so friendly and helpful throughout the entire trip. We were able to walk, Uber or catch a bus to take us to any attraction. The bell staff was so attentive, we had a lot of luggage that needed stored before and after our stay and the bell staff were more than happy to help us with that, which really made our trip run so much smoother. I especially want to thank Phillip and Darnel! The breakfast was generous and delicious! The evening reception enjoyable and both on site restaurants were great. We loved having tea and lunch at the British restaurant on site. Very special memories all around!
And don't miss the Riverwalk just a block from this hotel which takes you from the Navy Pier all the way through the city. So much happening!
There's always logistics and specifics to try to understand, but that's part of the adventure. Every one was helpful in answering questions. The city is expensive. But we knew that going in.
