Great location, great price and great service makes this an amazing place to stay
Pros:

Absolutely loved our stay here. Blocks from the beach, shopping and restaurants, you can't beat the value. The continental breakfast was the one of the best I've had. Having beach gear available, rather than having to pack our own, made beach days so much easier. The staff was so helpful, giving us tips on where to eat, can't miss activities and local recommendations. We would absolutely stay here again and would 100% recommend it to anyone staying in Waikiki.

Pros:

Location was excellent, easy walk to beach or other sites near Waikiki. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Loved that filtered water was always available. Room clean and nice, not fancy, but met all my requirements . Breakfast buffet was fabulous.

Cons:

only complaint was the loud airconditioner

Great value, location and customer service!
Pros:

The location was great! Walking distance to all the great restaurants and shops and the beach. Across the street from a cool tiki bar where you can swim while eating garlic shrimp. Loved the free chairs, beach towels, umbrellas, boogie boards, and beach toys and the free breakfast. All around a great value and great staff. A little bit further away from the huge hotels, which makes it perfect! Definitely will stay here next time.

Cons:

You can hear the street noise through the window air conditioner, but that really didn’t bother me. It adds to the vibe.

I came to relax with my sister. I was greeted with a smile and a glass of cool pineapple juice. It was very tasty. You can always ask the person at the reception anything you are interested in and he will always help you with it. The staff is very friendly, they can clean your room every day. The breakfasts at the hotel are very tasty and healthy. Well, there is a refreshing drink in the kitchen all day, anyone who wants can taste it. There is always beach equipment available, it is very useful for people. The layout of the hotel is very comfortable, close to the beach and also close to the bus stop. Thank you to the hotel for this wonderful vacation.

The Vive has an amazing Vibe and wonderful location! Highly recommend!

Our stay at the Vive exceeded our high expectations. 😊 From the welcome beverage upon arrival and friendly efficient check in, to all the thoughtful touches including an exceptional breakfast with a variety of options, 24/7 coffee/tea/water, daily access to beach gear (chairs, umbrellas, beach towels, etc), frequent check ins from housekeeping staff and front desk personnel, recommendations for tours, transportation, local activities and dining options, the Vive staff consistently went out of their way to ensure our stay was nothing short of amazing. In addition, this boutique hotel is in an excellent location with easy access to the beach, is quiet and exceptionally clean --- and the friendly staff are attentive and responsive to any questions or concerns. The waived amenity and resort fees, in addition to other perks offered for stays five days or longer are an added bonus. We highly recommend the Vive -- and look forward to booking again should we return to Oahu. Booking directly through the Vive website was easy and excellent value.

Second time staying here
Pros:

Clean, Nice, & Helpful
Pros:

This was a nice, clean room although on the small side. Perfect for me as a solo traveler. There was a small maintenance issue that I reported and by the time I returned later, it was taken care of. I loved the welcome glass of pineapple juice and the capability of storing my luggage after check out. Location was great—just a few blocks to the beach and the best shave ice (Shave Ice Waikiki) I’ve found was only a block away (south)! I appreciated the beach towels, chairs, and other beach gear available. All in all, a wonderful time!

Location was great, staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast wasn’t good, quite boring. The room was clean but noisy because of the old outdoor air conditioning. I rate the hotel very good despite these two inconveniences, because there are more things in its favor, including the possibility of renting things for the beach

Best rated Budget hotel in Waikiki for a reason
Pros:

There is a reason this hotel is the best rated Budget hotel in Honolulu. They are service oriented and work extremely hard please the guests. It's also a beautiful newer building, comfortable rooms, quality breakfast included, lots of amenities like loaner beach gear. I requested a quiet room with view and got what I needed. My only criticism would be that the room door closers need adjustments so they don't slam the doors so hard it shakes the walls, and maybe add scrambled eggs to the rotation as it's at least as popular as plain omelets and hard-boiled. Beats Holiday Inn Express which is more expensive. I'll be back.
