I was not impressed with the shower, the drain didn’t drain well in the shower. The walls had stuff on it ( puke ?) the hot tub was broken and only 4 people were allowed in the other one at a time. We did not get to use it. We spoke with the front and they only took off the parking fee. We were celebrating 4 years of marriage and were really dissatisfied with our stay as it was not cheap… we will not be staying there again. The ice machines were all broken so we could not enjoy cold beverages on ice to celebrate.

Good hotel at the heart of Banff
Pros:

Very central location and nice hotel with friendly staff and beautiful views. If you arrive to Banff with a bus, you can't pick a more convenient hotel. Also public bus to eg. sulphur mountain runs right at the front.

Cons:

Room was chilly (which is excellent for sleeping) and ventilation quite loud. Earplugs we're provided.

Beautiful hotel and great food at the restaurant for breakfast!

Cons:

We were told the wrong time for the Lake Louise shuttle by the front desk staff, and the wrong times were listed on the flyer as well, and it really affected our day. We planned everything around that shuttle and then waited outside for a long time before asking again and being told the times had changed and there was no bus coming for hours.

Great value hotel that is literally in the most central position in town :-)
Pros:

Large clean rooms. Great staff. Fantastic central location. Good value. We will definitely stay here again when we return.

Cons:

Liked everything, but during peak times, they could do with a few more parking spaces in the overflow car park.

Our favourite hotel in Banff
Pros:

We had a lovely stay at the Mount Royal. There was a ceiling leak on our first night, but the maintenance staff fixed the problem quickly and effectively. The hotel is well located, and has a nice historic feel. Our Junior Suite had a great view over the main street and mountains. The room was very comfortable and quiet. Not just the bed and pillows (fantastic), but also the sofa, which is uncommon. Lovely renovated bathroom and kitchenette, and great hot tubs with amazing views. Also enjoyed the library, free morning cappuccinos, and for skiers, the Lake Louise and Sunshine shuttle buses pick you up right outside the hotel, which is fantastic.
