We read the comments - we couldn't believe it. The price convinced us... and we made the mistake of a lifetime.
We're here for 9 nights in the old wing:
Looks like a hotel from the 80's without proper maintenance
Smelly hallways of dirty carpets.
The room looks like an abandoned warehouse - scratched parquet, a broken refrigerator next to a new refrigerator, an air conditioner that makes a noise like an airplane but cools like a burning candle (and also puts out dust!), a sunken bed, a broken toilet, broken sockets, a balcony door that doesn't lock, broken lighting, a clogged sink, and a floor that hasn't heard a mop in years.
The reception? They smile and say "come in the morning... maybe they'll free up some rooms." In the meantime - we sleep three nights without air conditioning.

Don't do this to yourself.
We payed extra for a room with a double bed and view of the garden. All we saw was the roof that stretches out towards the garden and the room had two single beds. We had to ask 5-7 times over the span of two days for new beds or a new room, but ended up pushing them together ourselves, only for the housekeeping to put them back.
This is NOT a 5-star hotel, 3 at BEST. Do not waste your money here.
There is no variety in the food, the food does not change and every day it is the same. The pool is small and not adapted to the number of vacationers

Beautiful hotel in convenient location. Customer service excellent. Elevators not all working and has to walk down 15 flights of stairs. 1 elevator never worked at all. A/C didn’t work properly. Kept turning off and switch would not turn back on. I believe the switch plate needed to be replaced. Beautiful breeeze of the ocean accommodated for lack of proper a/c.
No conditioner for your hair, no soap, no iron to iron clothes since we were attending a wedding

Hotel in amazing location and beautiful beach. Ok as a four star hotel but really wouldn’t call it five , as the finishes were poor. Few issues; 1-dangerous large mirror that was cracked and we reported it twice and nothing done about it. 2-wrong pictures of chosen suite didn’t have pool as advertised , and we were told Expedia got it wrong . 3- iron room had timer light that kept going out whilst trying to iron which is dangerous . 3-advertised with coffee tea making facilities and we had one coffee pod in the whole week, plus our friends were charged for their coffee in their room , 4- city tax higher than advertised on site and were slightly shocked when checking in and presented with the invoice. 5- though there is a large amount of breakfast available , the hot breakfast was cold to warm if you were lucky and we tried at different times and always the same.

Dining arrangements were ordinary. There was a restaurant at the rear that was only availabile for guests that had pre-bought all their dining. This was often near empty, while the main dining hall was chaotic.
Additionally one lift wa only available for people on floor 16, while the other two lifts often provide a slow service.

They advertise a sauna and gym but you need to pay an additional €25 per use. False advertisement.
There is a queue in the cafeteria for breakfast even at 7 in the morning.
The staff give you instructions saying "you sit here, you sit there, no, it's not possible there". It's like a military mess hall. When you have breakfast, you are afraid to pick up your phone because an staff will say something.
There are very crowded tours coming all the time. There is a long tail in everything you do. The hotel is always crowded. Those who seek peace should stay away.
The receptionists are like concrete.
They asks for your credit card information so incase you can do something to the room.
The Greek staff standing in the cafe next to the pool speak contemptuously. They reject the guests. They make fun of me when I say don't talk like that. Especially Greek young men are very aggressive and have aggressive attitudes. He speaks in a belligerent manner.
The rooms are old, the hotel furniture is old. The sink is clogged.
As I was going down to breakfast, I got nervous because one of the staff would say something.
Very crowded hotel, there is always a queue, there is commotion and noise.
The hotel seriously discriminates between all inclusive and breakfast only customers. There is discrimination in breakfast rooms and breakfast foods. Hotel employees also communicate with you by making this discrimination. The tradesmen of Rhodes are very money-grubbing and very rude. In short, this hotel ruined my holiday. I wouldn't want to go to Rhodes or the Rodos Palas hotel again.
It’s alright… but Not the greatest. Appreciating it’s a massive complex but the whole place looks and feels a bit tired. 50 years old this year… and you can tell. Check in is painful and for some reason seems to take an age. We stayed in one of the family bungalow suites up the mountain side. Concierge service with buggies to get you up and down thank god. The room was ok but… as I say… in need of a refurb. Aircon in the room defo needs a re-gas or service. Had trouble getting to sleep some nights as it was still pretty hot in the room. Had an “American” style breakfast included… lots to choose from. Staff could defo do with cheering up a bit… not many smiles knocking around. Overall… I’d give it 6 out of 10.
