Check in was very easy, kindly upgraded our room, and went above and beyond to help us make changes to our reservation. Her professionalism ( sorry I forgot her name ) efficiency, and genuine hospitality made our stay seamless and memorable.
Executive lounge was great with enough food and drink options. Breakfast was also great. We truly appreciated everything you did and look forward to staying here again on our next visit to Copenhagen.
My luggage was delayed and Michael and Elin were just amazing at helping me out with this. Excellent customer service, showing compassion for guests. Would recommend based on this alone, but we also enjoyed the location, breakfast and fabulous views.
We arrived around 10:00 AM, as I had notified in advance. The welcome was rude and completely indifferent. The receptionist took our ID details and said I would receive a message when our rooms were ready—something that, of course, never happened. I had booked three rooms with a water view, but mine faced the city, which I consider a downgrade in accommodation. The initial staff member had promised the rooms would be on the same floor, but they turned out to be on two different ones. There was constant crowding in front of the elevators and the reception desk, leading to long waits. Since it was the first day of my vacation, I didn't want to get into an argument or deal with any further hassle. On the plus side, the hotel has been recently renovated; the rooms are spacious, with comfortable bathrooms and very comfortable beds. The location is excellent and quiet, and all major sights are within walking distance. However, the Executive Lounge was usually overcrowded. Overall, the hotel seems geared towards serving cruise groups, so elite members would be better off looking for a different hotel. I do not recommend it.
What a lovely hotel in a great location, right on the water. (And a short walk to tivoli) I had read that the hotel was a bit dated but I did not find that to be the case. My room was spacious and very comfortable. We were easily able to watch 2 minutes to the swimming area right in the river. The concierge and other staff members were very helpful and friendly, making the staff even more excellent. I would highly recommend this Marriott. Note the executive lounge was monitored to ensure entrance rules were followed. This helped keep the crowds down during breakfast and evening happy hour.
An Executive Suite at 750 Euros/850 US$ the most expensive room after the Royal Suite. Not worth the money. Run down, poor maintenance. See photographs.
• Next to the door to our room there are spilled coffee stains 1.5m high, not cleaned for 3 days.
• On arrival the aircon was blowing a cold gale. Impossible to turn it off, even by the maintenance team. 3 visits later they managed to turn off the whole system for the room.
• Next evening the TV isn't working, channels need retuning. At 8:30pm no one in the hotel to reset the tv set. Quite extraordinary in such a large hotel.
• Worse the room shows very poor cleaning and maintenance.
• A cable dangles from under the TV.
• A lamp sits on top of a low table, the 30cm long cord dangling in the air, not long enough to reach a power point.
• There are many dirt stains on the couch, chair, carpet.
• The cabinet door to the fridge is dangling loose.
• The pillows are very old with no support at all.
• Paint flaking on the wall.
• Quite dirty furniture in the "Executive Lounge" where you have to queue up to get your coffee.
• Stains on the chairs near reception.
• This hotel shows neglect and poor upkeep.
Also long waiting time at the reception desk. Seems understaffed. Very disappointing and poor value.
