Das Grande Hotel Anantara in Amsterdam hat während unseres Aufenthalts nicht die Erwartungen eines Fünf-Sterne-Hotels erfüllt.
Check-in und Zimmerzuweisung
Bei der Ankunft erhielten wir unangemessene Zimmer, die nicht dem Deluxe-Standard entsprachen. Nach Beschwerde wurden wir in eine Junior Suite und ein Deluxe Zimmer umgebucht, was eine Verbesserung darstellte. Die Junior Suite mussten wir jedoch bezahlen, erhielten aber einen reduzierten Preis. Das ist soweit in Ordnung. Wurden jedoch auch noch dumm angefahren, dass wir über Booking.com gebucht hätten. Da kann man sowieso nichts machen.
Frühstückserlebnis
Der Frühstücksraum war überfüllt, laut und unordentlich. Der Service war unprofessionell und die Qualität der Speisen entsprach eher einem Drei-Sterne-Hotel. Trotz unserer Rückmeldung wurde auch das alternative Café nicht besser, sodass wir beschlossen, kein Frühstück mehr im Hotel einzunehmen, obwohl wir dafür bezahlt hatten.
Zimmerzustand und Service
Die Suite war zwar ordentlich eingerichtet, hatte jedoch Mängel wie abblätternde Tapeten und eine unzureichend aufgefüllte Minibar. Der Zimmerservice war unzuverlässig, und der abendliche Aufdeckservice fand nur unregelmäßig statt.
Checkout-Erfahrung
Beim Checkout gab es Missverständnisse über die Verfügbarkeit von Services vor 7:00 Uhr, obwohl wir dies zuvor angesprochen hatten. Die Parkplatzsuche war chaotisch, und wir mussten selbst unser Mietauto finden, was durch eine blockierte Ausfahrt noch erschwert wurde.
Insgesamt war unser Aufenthalt im Grande Hotel Anantara äußerst unzufriedenstellend. Die Mängel in Service, Zimmerqualität und Frühstück sind für den Preis und die Sternebewertung inakzeptabel. Trotz der vorteilhaften Lage gibt es viele bessere Alternativen. Amara erwähnte, dass sie möglicherweise über einen Refund nachdenken könne, und wir erhielten die Kosten für den Parkplatz zurück, was bei diesem Service das Mindeste war.

Breakfast was a bit hit and miss
The staff was very friendly and willing to help. The room was mostly excellent apart from a few minor quirks. The location of the hotel was excellent: absolutely central to all the major sights of Amsterdam!
For a five-star hotel, sometimes the response times would not be ideal. Also, some very simple errors could have been avoided. For example, when you turn in laundry, you should automaticall receive a new, empty laundry bag and form for your next order.
