Breakfast great.
Bathroom could do with an upgrade.
Great evening with friends for rhe comedy night. Accomodation was beautiful and rooms clean tidy and spacious.Breakfast was plentiful and food arrived fresh and hot
Nothing
Beautiful old hall, well presented.
Everything
Nothing.
Beautiful grounds. Really nice breakfast.
For the price of the room in the old hall I didn’t feel it was worth it. The previous time we stayed we had a lovely spacious room. This time the room was really, really small and didn’t have the same feel of luxury for the price tag
Our upgrade
There was no hot water in the morning and our room was cold.
Ok
Beautiful old house, very well maintained.
Room was hot. Food and drinks are very expensive.
The staff are super helpful. At breakfast my partner did not make it down so they still made her breakfast and i took it to the room. For me this was great service.
The hotel receptionist was very chatty and knowledgeable about the hotel history and spoke fondly of the family who own it. Which i loved.
The food and drinks were great. The ambience was also great i highly recommend it for its beauty it's history and how well it's been kept a perfect combination of its history and modern expectations of a hotel room. It was superb
There wasn't anything i did not like.
Location
The view from the room onto the works shed and plant machinery
Visiting for our 6th. time, to celebrate a birthday. All our visits have been totally enjoyable. An excellent hotel in every respect, cleanliness of rooms, professionalism and helpfulness of staff, quality and variety of food in restaurant. Another source of enjoyment is that the owner, Lord Gisborough , lives very nearby and every evening comes to chat to guests before their dinners and also plays the piano. Both he and guests, including us on all our visits, always enjoy this, with it being enriched by knowing he should be 100 next year.
Staff welcoming and warm throughout.
Ideal location. Cleanliness and comfort.
Currently building a spa, noise from works through the day
Had booked for a couple of nights, seeking somewhere in the vicinity which was accessible and comfortable.
Could not fault, staff brilliant throughout… warm and welcoming.
Rooms well kept and comfortable.
Only downside was current works for the spa which led to noise through the day which became quite intense at times.
Otherwise restful stay.
Lovely comfortable rooms.
Nothing.
The staff are amazing, room was very clean and the food was outstanding
Full of history
We visited Gisborough Hall and took the foodie 2 night break, bed and breakfast both days and included a 3 course dinner on the first night and afternoon tea on the 2nd day. The room was lovely "The Old Nursery" with a great comfy bed and everything you could want. The only thing that left me disappointed was the food. My dinner on the first night was not up to the standard expected. The soup was good but my main let the experiance down....The Carol Nero was presented with the stems! The potato Pommes Anna was quite slimy and cold and not nice to eat and the Guineafowl was OK but the 2 chicken bon bons were dry and again cold. My husband had a steak with chips which was lovely and I had a few of his chips as my potato was uneatable. The desserts were just so sweet ... to sweet.. I ordered granny smith cheese cake and my husband had figgy pudding. The service was excellent from everyone throughtout our stay 👏 but as we're were there to relax I found it very difficult to raise these issues at the time as it would have put a dampener on our experiance. The Afternoon Tea the 2nd day was again too sweet so much so we couldn't eat all the cakes offered but we did love the cheese scones. The breakfasts were nice but my eggs benedict were cool with the hollandaise sauce cold. It was such a shame the food let us down but we did enjoy the hotel but probably won't be back 😕
