Beautiful old hall, some rooms were kept with nice features
Orginal price was way to heigh. Good job there was the discount otherwise it wouldn't be worth it.
Room was clean but very simple and modern but was overlooking car park and rubbish from building side next door.
We stayed here for 3 nights for our son’s wedding at a nearby venue. When booking we were told the hotel was dog friendly with first floor rooms. On arrival we were allocated our room on the second floor. The very furthest room away from the exit. On our second night the lift was only available to the first floor due to building works. Really not ideal with an elderly dog when needing the toilet and the long walk required to exit the hotel sometimes in the middle of the night. . When checking out I voiced my concerns to the receptionist, Stacey I believe, who told me the hotel is not dog friendly and that they are constantly telling management that. She said they are hoping they will remove dog friendly rooms altogether !!
She said the rooms had been moved to the second floor to make way for a new spa but was unable to explain why we weren’t updated with that information at any point after booking our room. She also said we should have used the fire exit at the side of our room as it wasn’t alarmed. She said we should have been told that at check in. We most certainly weren’t. Please explain what actually makes the hotel dog friendly when even your staff told us that it wasn’t. Would definitely not stay again
On a separate note when my son checked in they said we are checking in the bride and groom. My son had to correct this to groom and groom. This should not be assumed in this day and age ! Very very disappointing
Returned to Gisborough Hall for a three night break. We very much enjoyed the relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The staff are very helpful. The choice for breakfast includes smoked salmon dishes as well as the usual full English..
The only thing to mention was the heavy duvets in warm weather. I was given blankets instead, which was fine.
Overall a lovely stay thanks
A very nice hotel I would highly recommend. We picked this hotel as it was an ideal location to sight see all around the area. We visited places such as Whitby, Saltburn by sea, Filey and Teeside.
We stayed 2 nights in the the Woodland Wing. A good large bed, very comfortable bed in a big sized room. Bathroom had both a bath and a shower along with his and hers sinks! Very clean.
There was a wedding the 2 nights we stayed but could not hear a thing!
Service in the hotel was friendly, no issues at all.
Breakfast was spot on with plenty of hot and cold options.
We hope to stay again at some point.
Only downside, it was our Wedding Anniversary which I put on the notes but nothing was mentioned during our stay but that didn't change our views on this place.

Beautiful property, decor, service and location
Another unforgettable stay from start to finish! The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming - with a genuine ‘no request too small attitude’. Our spacious room offered a serene view of the lush grounds and it was immaculately clean and filled with thoughtful personal touches! From delightful snacks to a charming chocolate adorned with the house coat of arms, every detail felt intentional and appreciated. Dinner was exceptional the scallops were pure perfection - and we were treated to a hearty breakfast to start the day right. It’s rare to feel so pampered and at home all at once.
We can’t wait to return! Highly recommend.

Wie man sich ein Herrenhaus in Yorkshire vorstellt. Außerhalb des kleines Ortes Guisborough im eigenen Park mit Lamas. Hervorragendes Frühstück und Restaurant(s). Immer freundliche Mitarbeiter.
Helpful staff
Excellent breakfast
Lovely grounds
Good location
Nothing to dislike, except a swimming pool would have been a nice addition
Staff were so helpful and friendly.
Dogs not allowed in the breakfast room.
The hotel is in a charming building and the food was excellent. Our room was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean, which made for a very pleasant stay overall.
However, the hotel itself lacked a bit of personality and charisma, and at times felt rather flat. While the staff were helpful and did their jobs, they came across as somewhat disingenuous and lacking interest, which may have added to the overall flat feeling.
It is also worth noting that while dogs are allowed in certain rooms, I would not describe the hotel as dog-friendly. Dogs are not permitted in any internal public areas such as the bar, lounges or dining areas, so in practice they are only allowed in the bedroom.
The dog-friendly rooms also appear to be on the second floor, furthest away from the exit, meaning dogs have to be walked through the non-dog-friendly areas to get outside. This felt impractical, particularly when simply needing to let your pet out.
A comfortable stay overall, but introducing designated dog-friendly zones within the hotel would be a real improvement and would make it feel much more welcoming for guests travelling with pets. It's a holiday for the dog too!
