Fantastic New Year’s Eve at Gisborough Hall
We spent New Year’s Eve at Gisborough Hall as a party of six and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The rooms were excellent – spacious, comfortable, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere throughout the evening was festive and well organised, making it a really special way to see in the New Year. Staff were friendly, attentive, and professional, ensuring everything ran smoothly. A great balance of elegance and warmth, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We have booked again for 2026 NYE and would highly recommend Gisborough Hall for a special occasion.

Our second visit, this time for 4 nights. Simply excellent. Room had everything and the food was superb. Those who served in the restaurant and bar were efficient, helpful and knowledgable Particular mention to Karen and Stacey who sorted out a couple of minor issues quickly and without fuss. The location is quiet and rural yet a short drive brings you to various places of interest. If you stay in the hotel during the day you will find comfortable lounge areas and whilst we were there log fires provided a welcoming feel to an afternoon drink.
Excellent stay in this beautiful hotel which is so full of character and has been carefully restored keeping a lot of the original features. Our room was on the second floor and was large with a good outlook and good bathroom . The thing we loved most about our stay however was the quality of the food . With 2 AA Rosettes we knew we were in for a treat and we weren’t disappointed! The offer in January for half board was very reasonable. Our breakfast was also superb with lots to choose from. The staff were helpful and friendly and made our stay feel very special.
The whole experience was fabulous, the staff are absolutely amazing, attentive, so friendly and helpful making you feel as though you are part of the family. Hotel is emaculate and full of history and artefacts belonging to the family. We had a treatment in the wellness centre which was first class.
Drinks are expensive but to be expected given today’s climate.
We came back for what is, I think, our 5th Burns’ Night. We stayed an extra night, just to enjoy the peace, the ambience, the open fires and sheer comfort. I also spent a Christmas voucher having a facial in the Revival Zone, which was so relaxing, I fell asleep!
Burns’ Night is an institution now at Gisborough Hall and it never fails to be an evening of great food, great entertainment and dancing.
The scene is set as people arrive to the piper traversing the room, playing traditional tunes. Once everyone was seated, the haggis was brought in and addressed in Burns’ own words.
The four course meal was Scottish-themed and the staff did an amazing job, serving everyone politely and efficiently.
The ceilidh is run by a great band with the fiddle player keeping us all on our toes with great humour and patience.
At the end of the evening, there was a disco, where many shoes were kicked off and even the elderly amongst our group were shaping their moves!
Well done to all the team at Gisborough Hall! With luck, we’ll be back next year.
Location, rooms were spacious and revival treatments excellent
Slow breakfast service, reduced continental offer for example pastries and fresh fruit not replenished
Went to the Hall for Burn’s Night for the first time this year with my family; it was a wonderful experience.
It was beyond my expectations, from the bagpiper to the addressing of the haggis (excellent showmanship) and the delicious four-course meal. The dancing that came after was just as brilliant, from the smiles I’d seen I’d guess everyone else enjoyed it as well.
The service was impeccable with constant refills of water and bread, the manager also checking in on each table regularly.
The band and the dancing were fantastic with almost everyone joining in on the dance floor.
All in all Burn’s Night is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.
Very warm and spacious, friendly and helpful staff

We stayed in one of the Huntsman’s Cabins (Hummingbird ) situated outside the Hall. It was truly magical . Tranquil and located in the woodland where there was not a sound .
The cabin has absolutely everything required for a stay, fridge , cooker . It was warm and cosy and we even made use of the hot tub even though it was absolutely freezing outside , the hot tub was very accommodating.
The winds howled and the rain was torrential but we were more than happy to stay inside and make the most of this beautiful accommodation .
The food in the restaurant was absolutely delicious which included the breakfast the next day.
This was a pretty special stay and we will be going back as soon as we can
This hotel was amazing. A Beautiful hotel, set in what I believe are Beautiful grounds (weather was bad and everything was covered in snow so we couldn't see!)
The staff were very friendly and very helpful and couldn't do enough for us on the evening of our stay, which was our late Christmas Do.
The only down side was being herded out of the bar by the rude barman who said he had work to do so we had to leave and sit in the lounge area and this was after he had been heard muttering rude things about us and after we had been told that the bar doesn't close for residents. Hey ho, we didn't let this spoil our night however and after sleeping in the comfiest bed ever, we went on our merry way back home. We are seriously considering having our Christmas do here again this year
I just had to share a wonderful experience I had here yesterday. It was a family gathering celebrating my niece’s birthday. The staff were amazing very attentive but not intrusive they were well trained, polite and very welcoming. The food if you visit I highly recommended the Grilled Chicken with peppercorn sauce and cheese board was absolutely delicious!! This place is well worth a visit!!
We are a couple in our 70’s and we attended a family celebration for our granddaughters birthday.
On entering the hotel we were met by friendly staff, who took our coats and drink order promptly.
All the opens fire were lit and gave a lovely ambiance to the rooms we were in. It’s like stepping back on time.
Our three course meal was exceptional, promptly served by the attentive staff. Every course was delicious- compliments to the chef!
We have visited this venue on many occasions, for weddings, christening and birthday celebrations and are always impressed by the first class service we’ve received.
Would highly recommend a visit if you haven’t been before.
Gisborough Hall’s location on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors is ideal for location to stay with all the luxuries of a country house, Close to the coast road and on the edge of the market town of Guisborough, it is a fovourite of ours and again our expectations were exceeded!!! From the moment we entered the hotel we were greeted warmly by the staff and our drink order was taken promptly. We were part of a private function and from start to finish we had an amazing time. The dining room was set for dinner with candelabra and silverware and we sat surrounded by portraits Chaloner and De Brus ancestors . The food, coordination of courses, attentiveness of staff was outstanding. The highly trained silver service staff were professional and the food presentation, temperature, freshness and taste, was of an exceptionally high standard. My husband had the steak and it was tender, cooked to perfection . My salmon starter was delicious and the sticky toffee pudding was sublime! Thank you to the staff for their warm hospitality and great food and for all the photos you took for us !!
We attended Gisborough Hall to celebrate an 18th birthday, and the whole experience was fantastic from start to finish.
We were in the Long Hall which is an elegant private dining room.
The food was absolutely amazing, every dish was beautifully presented and tasted incredible, with plenty of choice for everyone, even my younger children enjoyed it.
What really made the celebration special, though, was the staff. Ryan, Adam, Sophie, Michelle, and Poppy all went above and beyond to look after us. They were friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel welcome, ensuring everything ran smoothly throughout our visit.
Thanks to the wonderful food and outstanding service, the birthday celebration was truly memorable. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend this hotel for a special occasion.
Good location
Lack of attention to details .. bin dirty , valence on bed dirty, scuffs on walls and paintwork.. mirror in wardrobe dirty ..shower head old and not working properly.
Everything
Nothing
Immaculate and comfortable. Felt like a home from home if only I was a millionaire!
Nothing. There was a wedding going on but the way the hotel and bedrooms are arranged there was no noise at all and no feeling of being at someone’s else’s event. Very cleverly done
