It was okay
It was ok
The property was located conveniently close to the major highways in the area making it easy to get to Nationwide arena.
The photos from booking show the property has a hot tub. The hot tub has been filled in and the pool was not open during our stay. The dinner and breakfast buffet were sub par at best and empty. Our room was “clean” but items in the room were destroyed. You could see daylight around the room hvac unit. The staff take forever to check you in, and when the damages were reported to staff they were unhelpful and blew it off.
It was quiet
So first I booked a 2 bed king and upon arrival I get told I don’t have a reservation as I was showing him, could never find any hotel staff for shampoo towels etc, shower would flood with water from the steam due to which could be very dangerous and that’s only part of it and also the toilet was constantly draining making it almost impossible to sleep . I kept having to get up of a night and adjust the plunger in the back of the toilet . So I would highly not recommend this place to anyone
One of the worst experiences ever.Every time we left the room ,had to go down 9 floors and get key reprogrammed.Water was a steady drip in the bathroom.Electrical plug fell off wall and plug was burnt black.
We were there for a conference. The hotel was given my name by the conference committee for early check in which was not recorded. Christopher, the acting manager at that time, was rude and uninterested in resolving the situation. He told me I could check in at 3pm with everyone else.
When I got in line at 3pm, there were 15 other guests in front of me and 2 people working the desk. I finally received my room keys and was sent to Suite 325. The keys did not open the door. I came back to the desk, went directly to the register and told the woman that my keys were ineffective. She apologized and gave me new keys. I went back to 325 to find that those keys didn’t work either.
Upon returning to the desk, I was frustrated and asked for the manager. Christopher told me to wait for Amir. At that time I met Jim C. from the conference committee. He asked me what was wrong, I introduced myself and told him that they said he hadn’t given my name for early check in. Jim advised me that he actually had given the hotel my name and the committee was aware of other guest issues.
Then Amir arrived. He apologized and asked me to wait while he tried to open my room. When he returned he gave me new keys (3rd set!) and said it was all taken care of. My fiance and I went back to 325 to find the door propped open. We tried the keys again and found they didn’t work. The bathtub was completely FULL and there was water on the floor.
I called Guest Services and the Front Desk from the bedroom phone. I wanted Amir to come to the Suite to see the issues first hand. Neither line answered. I went back down to the lobby to speak with Amir.
I was frustrated and wanted a refund. Amir wanted to “talk about it later when they weren’t so busy”. He moved us to Suite 340 by going there first and having a hotel representative wait for me in the hallway to transfer our things if we needed help. We did not. By now it was after 4pm. We’d missed the opening meeting of the conference but there was still daylight so we didn’t turn the lights on in our room other than the hall and the bathroom. Both were recessed in the room and we need lights to be able to access them.
We went to dinner with friends and returned to the hotel at 7:30pm. I went directly to the desk and asked for Amir. Brian, my fiance, went to the room to wait. Christopher told me that he was in a meeting and to come back in an hour. He was rude and arrogant. I became angry and told him I thought he was funny, that it was interesting that I was getting pushed aside again, that I wasn’t happy, and that Amir told me to come back to talk to him when registration calmed down. Christopher did nothing to help me feel better about the situation. I returned to Suite 340.
It was then that I found my key did not work to unlock the door (fortunately Brian’s did), that the heater sounded like an airplane, that there was NO lightbulb on the desk, that the only lightbulb in the bedroom was so dim it might as well be off, and that once the toilet was used it leaked all over the bathroom floor. Reader, can you imagine how we felt? I told Brian that I wanted to go home. I took a video of the problems with Suite 340 and had my friend come up from her room to witness the situation. She agreed that we should leave.
Back to the front desk and Christopher I went! I told him in no uncertain terms that I wanted my money refunded. I didn’t call him names or cuss at him. I was angry and I’m sure my voice was raised. He refused to refund me for the night, offered me a new room, and said I could check out the next day. At that point I know I yelled. Brian came up to the desk and started yelling also. I was outraged, tired and appalled! I could not believe he actually thought we would be willing to move to a third room! I had already shown Christopher the video of the problems in 340 and told him that 1 of the 2 keys did not work. He had argued with me about the key saying I was in the room. He was arguing with a customer that had been through hell about a key?!?!? SERIOUSLY?!
Christopher told me I could step aside to wait for Amir. By now it was after 8pm. I refused to move. Brian left to get the conference reps. Another hotel employee came up to Christopher and whispered something to him. Without any explanation up front, he told me to give him my room key. I said “WHY?” It was then he told me he was going to cancel the hold on my credit card. I asked him for proof because, as I explained to him, I had ZERO reason to trust anything he said to me at this point. He gave me (what I learned later from Amir) a fraudulent printout.
I walked away from the desk and spoke with Jim C and another conference rep in the lobby. They were waiting and watching the entire exchange. The conference committee was not happy with the hotel, numerous guests that I personally witnessed had problems with keys, were double charged, and while I was at the counter dealing with Christopher another guest told Brian she had a huge stain on her bed and no remote control.
After all of this I was able to talk with Amir, show him the video, and get what appears to be a verified cancellation of the hold on my card; however it is Sunday now and the charge is still pending. I am suspicious and watching. He also asked me to text him the photo I took of the bathtub in 325 and the video of 340 which I did. They are saved to my phone as is the text.
I would not have pursued this had it not been for the General Manager’s response to the review left by Brian H. It is garbage and you, Reader, should know that. The statement made about the entire conference not having any problems is laughable and I will be sure to pass that on to the committee. Saying they are glad they refunded him, when it was my card and I was the paying customer, is insulting and preposterous when they did nothing but refuse to cancel the charges until I started yelling. I also find it humorous that the GM did not post their name in their response. Just about every other reply to a review has a name posted to it.
I am now leaving reviews on Yelp, Booking.com, and every other site I can. I tried to leave a review on the Crowne Plaza website yesterday but it kept spinning and would not allow a review. We are also pursuing this matter further up the IHG chain of command.
A credit or price adjustment I had to get my room changed 3 times due to issues
Run away. Try Motel 6 Comfort Inn etc...

Chris is fortunate i controled my anger.
Conference host is supposed to be addressing with the management.
DO NOT BOOK OR STAY HERE. INCOMPETENT UNCARING STAFF
I CANNOT SAY ONE POSITIVE THING
The bed was comfortable and the room was cheap
There was a white
GO any where but this hotel !!! the hotel was very dirty upon walking into the main foyer and only got much worse from there. Girl at the desk was wonderful !! Were given our key . I will make it short ... upon opening door to our ROOM, there was a bunch of homeless people living in there . utter disaster in the room . Smelled horrible. This room has a patio door, so I'm thinkin g that's how they come in. Returned to desk got a different room and key, relentlessly walked to another room to find a filthy room, Good thing was, NO people in this one. !!! Needless to say we returned the key asked to be refunded (still waiting) and left. I now have a case number with IHG the parent company, hoping to see my money returned. WAS CHARGED TWICE FOR I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT !!! THIS USED TO BE THE best HOTEL IN COLUMBUS. !!! SO SAD, calling health department next. DONT
It was quiet me and my fiancé were left alone and the breakfast was absolutely good
We went to the pool and it looked a little cloudy and a little murky, and I think it was just because due to the outside pool and the inside pool being connected
Staff was amazing. The hotel was very clean and was in a great location. They were able to accommodate a early check in.

This hotel was gross. I stayed here after my flight got canceled and tried to leave shortly after checkout, but they would not refund me. Besides being very dated, the entire hotel smelled like mildew, it was hot and muggy, and the water didn’t drain in the bathtub. The air conditioning unit did not cool the room adequately and woke me up every time it switched on.
Also, after switching to a new room (which was equally as bad minus the gross stain on the carpet), the manager said it was IHG policy to walk me to the new room. This policy needs to change since a man walking into a hotel room with a woman customer and letting the door shut felt creepy and unsafe. They also need to change their refund policy as you should be allowed to leave a hotel you feel gross in without being charged.
Do not stay at this hotel. It should be a one star hotel and not a 3.
It was not that good
Eggs, sausage
Nothing
Dirty the bed sheets and comforter had literal dirt on them we had to change rooms
key card didn’t work every time we left had to go back down for a new key
Free breakfast was disgusting I wouldn’t even give it away nothing was fresh instead of refrigeration they used ice to keep fruit cool
Coffee was cold had to ask for fresh coffee at 7am
It was very clean and the staff was very polite.
The hotel was extremely cold everywhere especially in the room.
This place is horrible and the customer service is very unprofessional. I came to check in with another family member and the lobby was ice cold due to no heat in lobby and halls. Upon check in I told them that I had another family member and that we requested to be on the same floor (we made the request earlier in the week), I was told that was not possible. After complaining they did say they could give me a double instead of King so that we could be on the same floor and I reluctantly agreed since I just wanted to get in our rooms. It took at least 30 minutes to get checked in (they were in no hurry). As I was waiting I noticed several children and parents arriving for a birthday party at the pool, which meant we were most likely no9t going to be able to chill at the pool. Finally got our room keys and went to 5th floor to our rooms. I had a hard time getting my key to work and when i did get in my room the window was open in the dead of winter and the room was freezing. Meanwhile my other family 4 rooms down couldn't get their key to work (after already going to front desk for a new key card) and I walked in the hall to assist and was locked out of my room because my key card didn't work now. At this point we were very unhappy that we had to go back downstairs to get new key cards with a 4 year old who was getting impatient. The front desk had several people waiting and my daughter in law and I decided to just find another motel since this one was cold and the we just wanted to swim and that didn't seem likely with a birthday party going on at the pool. Lets just say I will never book there again. It is 3 days later and they sill have a $60 incidental hold on my card and don't want to refund me for my cancelled room.
