The Best Western Palace Hotel is without question, the worst four-star hotel I have ever stayed in, and I have traveled extensively around the world for more than 30 years.
We paid £1,500 for three nights — over $2,000 USD — and it was an absolute rip-off. In my opinion, this hotel is three-star at best, and even that would be generous.
We knew the rooms were small, but small is one thing — having virtually nowhere to put your belongings is another. There were no closets, no drawers, no proper storage, no drinking glasses, no bottle of water, and virtually none of the amenities you would expect at a hotel charging this kind of price.
One of the rooms they showed us had the bathroom across the hallway from the bedroom — for approximately $500 a night! I don’t expect a huge room, but at that price, I absolutely expect basic comfort and proper facilities.
The bathroom had a tiny prefab-style shower and exactly two towels. There was no proper air conditioning, only a fan. The windows opened at an awkward angle, making it almost impossible to walk past them without banging your head.
And then there is the food. Breakfast was barely edible, and the other food we paid extra for was more like a poor fast-food restaurant than something you would expect from a hotel advertised as four-star. At nearly $500 a night, breakfast wasn’t even included.
The staff were apologetic and tried to be understanding, but there was only so much they could do because the problem is clearly the hotel itself and the standard it is operating at.
I am extremely disappointed that I booked this hotel through American Express, and this experience has certainly made me rethink doing that again.
Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. Unless this hotel is charging around $100 a night, I cannot imagine how anyone could consider it worth the price.
Do not stay here. You will be paying four-star prices for a hotel that, in my opinion, is nowhere close to four-star quality.
View was great. Location was fantastic. Room was very comfortable, seemed newly renovated. Great water pressure in the shower.
Parking is dicey, elevator is small.

No aircon in our room, but there was a fan. We were there for 6 days and breakfast is exactly the same every day. Alternatives or variety would spice things up a bit.

Nous avons apprécié le charme du bâtiment , la propreté, la piscine, l’emplacement et son parking, le choix au petit déjeuner dont le travail du serveur et son professionnalisme .
Nous avons été déçu du manque de professionnalisme des serveuses au petit déjeuner ( regrouper en groupe et bruyante, non à l’écoute ), le manque de sourires de la plupart du personnel. Dans la chambre ( pas de réfrigérateur , insonorisation très mauvaise , ascenseur unique pour 2/3 personnes maxi, Tv+ prises USB pas pratique ). Nous n’avons pas trouver la qualité de prestation d’un palace à 570€ la nuit mais celle d’un 3* maxi a 250€/nuit.

I am a travel agent traveling with my Collette group of 32. Although some of my group have lovely rooms, I am in room 012. It is a small cramped room with a view of the roof and a double bed for two of us. The bathroom is equally small. I honestly can’t figure out how to fit two suitcases in my room. This room is suitable for a single only!!!

Mi avevano assegnato una camera diversa da quella che avevo prenotato, fortunatamente dopo vari tentativi era disponibile una camera migliore e mi hanno dato quella altrimenti sarei andata via facendomi rimborsare. La camera che mi avevano dato dire che era terribile era poco; tenendo conto soprattutto dei 500€ pagati per notte senza colazione. Colazione che ho pagato a parte che non era assolutamente da un hotel 4 stelle, per avere un decaffeinato bisognava pagare una differenza, incredibile.

For varmt til at sove- kunne ikke engang åbne et vindue fordi værelset lå ud til et tag med kæmpe turbiner der larmede, så det var umuligt at sove. Intet Intet køleskab på værelset. Ingen toiletbørste - men fik én da vi bad om det. Vandet i hanerne kunne ikke blive ordentligt varmt. Intet aircondition kun blæsere der bare hvirvlede den varme tunge luft rundt.

Das Personal ist sehr unfreundlich, unkompetent und nicht geschult.
Die Tische werden nicht auber gemacht, man muss sich den Platz selber reinigen, auch das gesamte Hotel ist unsauber und schlampig. Das Personal fragt nicht, man muss sich alles selbst besorgen.
Das Frühstück ist echt schlecht. Vom Kaffee bis zum Ei!

I travel very much so I have come to the conclusion that the most important thing about the hotels is the quality in everything and not only the appearance!
This hotel doesn't have an aircondition, just a fan, doesn't have a fridge also!!!!
The shower head is right next to the wall and you have to stick to the wall !! The door inside the bathroom was so dirty!!!! We stayed two nights and the first day they came to clean but they never empty the bin in the bathroom. The breakfast very poor!!!
The view, because I was at room 7 was excellent but in the first floor was very noisy also! The decoration very nice but....
