Location, cleanliness, staff, and comfort.
Parking. If I was in a normal vehicle there probably wouldn’t be a problem, but on a motorcycle… it got kinda difficult on that steep slope waiting for the gate to open.
Travelling solo to the Rolex 24 at Daytona, I was looking for a hotel on the beach that was a reasonable price. This place ticks the boxes on both fronts. But was it a hotel? More a good-sized self catering apartment with full kitchen facilities. No breakfast, no servicing of room.
Definitely didn't feel like a Hilton. Furnishings were all sound but not a quality feel. One flimsy bath towel and one hand towel was supposed to last me for 4 nights until I asked for replenishments - which, to be fair, were sorted with no problem.
On arrival the dishwasher was running in the room and the whole apartment stunk of bleach which I eventually sorted by using aftershave everywhere. No kettle so no possibility of making tea.
Car park outside and underneath so no problems there. But you do have to pay a $25(?) per day charge for facilities which includes parking but also things I did not want such as use of the outdoor pool.
But a good location on the beach within easy walking distance of the famous pier. And for exploring all the old NASCAR and LSR locations. Just 15 minute drive from the circuit. Have to drive out for all provisions as the 10 minute walk to the nearest decent supermarket would be too far loaded with water etc
EVERYTHING..To sum it up is that it is a fully furnished apartment. Lacks a washer and dryer but has 2 large screen TVs, one in the living room and one in the bedroom.
Noisy early in the morning with delivery trucks.
Dishes were nasty & stunk like rotten trash. Rooms were dirty & extremely small. Had to move rooms 3 times for a 2 week stay. The last room had mold & wet carpet. I have asthma and neither of us could not breathe in this room. Front desk said she had another room for 1 night. But didnt know what she would do with us after that. Not wanting to be on the streets or have to take another nice day moving rooms. (Packing, checking out, waiting on other guests to leave then wait for maid to clean that room). We decided to get another Hotel. Management refused to refund our points or money because we didnt give 30 days notice. They were very rude & unaccomidating HGV customer support was unhelpful.
Loved the location & the people.
N/A
The room wasn’t well ventilated and moisture was on the inside of my window for the entire stay, the metal tissue holder in the bathroom was rusted, and there was no place to hang my dress shirts and trousers in the closet because of the equipment in there. The TV couldn’t stream or connect to external devices, no down pillows are provided, no coffee or breakfast is provided, and the towels were thin and frayed. The facility barely provided the basic services expected of a hotel and certainly no amenities that warrant the $25 “resort” fee. I have traveled regularly for work over the years and have lifetime status with both Hilton and Marriott, this has been easily one of the worst facilities I’ve stayed at.
Everything
The game room it could’ve been more games for little kids
Clean
Nothing liked it all
It was located on the beach and very accessible to the beach
The elevator took a long time to come to each floor
Hotel by the beach, great outdoor area. Love the pool and the bar
I like having a kitchenette in the room however there is no table or chairs you can use as a dining table
Didn’t seem like a resort it was more like a nice Days Inn
The hotel was basic
Location was terrific
Parking was not great and our tub had a crack in it.
