Killarney Royal Townhouse

Great Central Location, Great rooms/Beds, Friendly Staff Lovely Breakfast and dinner

I am still basking in the warmth of our experience at the Killarney Royal Townhouse. Friendly staff, comfortable quiet rooms and delicious breakfast. We ate dinner in the Fig and it was a diners dream. Our only downside that it was only for one night. Can’t wait to return. And they sent us home with scones for a cuppa. Could you ask for more.

We stayed for one night on Valentine’s Day. When we arrived we pulled up in the set down area at the front of the hotel, while I checked in John the porter(?!) collected our bags from the car and took them to our room while we parked around the corner at sister property the Great Southern (great to be looked after while we took care of parking!).

Our room was beautiful, a rose on the bed for the day that it was, a card on the vanity, luxury Ground products in the bathroom as well as a standalone slipper style bath (love!).

We went for a rainy walk around the shops and a coffee, all of which made much easier by the umbrella John gave to us when heading out.

We had been asked if we wanted a turn down and to indicate the time, we booked when we knew we’d be at dinner. They did come while we were still in the room an hour or so earlier than booked, so we decided against it. It didn’t matter too much anyway.

We had dinner prebooked, the restaurant area was nice and relatively small which allowed for a better atmosphere and service. When we started our meal we were next to a couple who had clearly had a few drinks before dinner, after a couple of uncomfortable moments we were very subtly moved by a lovely lady (didn’t get her name but she had dark short hair and glasses). The rest of the dinner was perfect with great service.

Breakfast was nice, no issues but just not my favorite but I think I might be picky anyway!

Checkout very simple, we even got to take some scones home with us which was a lovely surprise.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. Lots of lovely touches and very nice to be referred to by name each time we met staff

Spent 2 nights recently in Killarney Royal Townhouse. Very nice small hotel in centre of Killarney. Rooms very comfortable & clean, food excellent and very friendly staff made our stay very enjoyable. No hesitation in recommending the hotel.

Stayed at Killarney Royal in Feb to see Imelda May in the INEC. it was a fabulous break and the service from when you walked in to when you left could not have been better. Special mention to John and the lady at front of house at the breakfast they were so lovely and could not do enough. We got a complimentary upgrade to a beautiful suite with everything thought of including a lovely personalised card. This hotel is superb and very special place to stay. Cannot recommend it enough.

The location was perfect for us. A hidden gem in Killarney. The room was immaculate and extremely comfortable. The ambience was so welcoming. The staff were so attentive especially Joann. The food was divine. We will definitely be returning.

A wonderful stay, definitely a home from home thanks to the warm and excellent staff. John, looked after us so well, he met us at the door and remembered us from our last visit. Room was pristine- comfortable and modern.Dinner and breakfast at the hotel was first class -food and service excellent.
We will certainly return!

Recently stayed in the Killarney Royal to celebrate my husbands 40th birthday! We were shocked to be upgraded to the townhouse suite for our stay.
Had a drink at the bar as we arrived early so our room was not ready which we knew about beforehand.
My husband was left 2 hand written cards from the staff wishing him a happy birthday which was so nice, a little dessert platter and a bar of Skellig chocolate was left also.
These little touches make the stay so memorable.
Location is perfect, away from the hustle and bustle of the town yet 30 second walk into Killarney, a little shop is beside the hotel also if you needed something.
The car park is located at its sister hotel the Great Southern, once again don't let this deter you as its a 2 minute walk.
We had breakfast on the morning and it was so fresh and delicious, i am a food snob so have high standards!
Scones and the soda bread so fresh and tasty, tried the omlette and pancakes also soooo good.
The review wouldnt be complete without mentioning the concierge John, who has served 36 years (my entire life lol) at the Killarney Royal, he gets to know all guests by name and is so helpful and friendly. A lovely face to greet upon arrival at the hotel.

Moral of my long review, stay at the hotel if you desire good quality food, exceptional service and a bit of luxury!

We had a lovely overnight stay a really beautiful hotel the staff were so nice and welcoming john was very helpful and great to have a chat with .We had dinner and breakfast the food was top class .would highly recommend

We stayed at the Killarney Royal Townhouse for two nights over a bank holiday weekend, it was an exceptional stay. When arriving we were immediately met by John, who helped with our luggage all the way to our rooms.
We arrived late Saturday evening with no booking for dinner but that was no problem with the dining staff, they accommodated us even though they were quite busy. Food was delicious. We thought the breakfast service ran until 11am (our mistake) and when we went down around 10:30am, we were told breakfast had finished… but again it was no problem, the staff were more than helpful and we still managed to get a full Irish each!
Overall we had an excellent stay, including our lovely room. It was very spacious and modern, tucked away from the Main Street so it was nice and quiet.
I would without a doubt stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone else!!

Just back from a fabulous 2 nights stay. Perfectly located hotel. Beautiful food and calming atmosphere. Bed was pure heaven. John the door man was a pure gentleman who couldnt do enough for us. We will definitely be back.

My friends and I stayed here for a birthday celebration night away. We were blown away by the fabulous spacious room, with gorgeous decor. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was perfect. Would highly recommend. Unreal value for money.

From start to finish , our stay was amazing. We checked in and we were so kindly upgraded to a suite. Our room was absolutely divine. Wow is the only word ! The value for money was brilliant & breakfast was so tasty !
Location is perfect , so close to all the amenities in town. Lovely & calm atmosphere. The small touches such as the turndown service was fab. We cannot wait to stay again.

Fantastic hotel, service incredible, never had better service before our visit there, definetly going back, loveky food, Perfect loction too. Credit to John, at the recpetion/ dining area. Unbelievable

From the moment we arrived, it was clear this hotel genuinely cares about its guests. Every staff member we encountered was warm, attentive, and eager to help, but what really stood out was how they went above and beyond to make our stay special.

Stayed for 2 nights at the Royal for my wife's birthday,
John welcomes us at the door and was very helpful and polite through out our stay,
The food was fabulous, many thanks to the chef and Joann in the restaurant who is hard working and professional but at the same time is friendly and polite,
Room was large, very clean and comfortable.
Some lovely touches, there was a birthday card from the hotel team, with apple tart and strawberries, on leaving we were giving fresh scones. in a presentation box for our journey home.
Overall a great weekend, thanks to all the staff we bet who are very professional and courteous.

This hotel was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed by the staff, who were warm, professional, and always happy to help. The room was spotless, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable.

The hotel itself felt calm and relaxing. Every detail felt thoughtful, It’s clear that the team truly cares about guest experience.

I honestly couldn’t have asked for more and would 100% stay here again. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a memorable, high-quality stay!
