Marriott's Grande Vista

The location - while a bit further out from main attractors - is centrally located to just about any direction of adventure you want to do. We've been coming here for nearly three decades. We love the privacy and thought the rates were fair - this year, though, they added a $30/night parking fee, which is ridiculous. Yes, I know many hotel properties, especially in downtown markets charge a daily rate, but that's because the parking structures are outsourced. It's almost a certainty that one has a car when staying at the Grande Vista due to the location and the property owns the parking lots. This fee strategy is poorly thought out, in my opinion. I would also keep in mind if you stay here, the restaurant options on property are very limited, one must go off property for meals. Once you leave the property, there are lots of restaurant and bar options. If you have a villa with a kitchen, head to the nearby grocery store and do your own meals. You'll save a lot of money.

We visited Orlando to celebrate our granddaughter’s 6th birthday and had a wonderful stay. Our group included three adults, a six-year-old, and a six-week-old baby, and the two-bedroom, two-bathroom villa was the perfect amount of space for everyone to spread out comfortably without ever feeling crowded.

We appreciated having a full kitchen and were able to shop nearby at Publix as well as the on-site Market. It made breakfasts easy and allowed us to enjoy a few relaxed dinners in the villa after busy days.

The pool area was fantastic for children, especially the splash area. The poolside bar and restaurant were very convenient, and the food and drinks were excellent. We also rented a cabana for extra shade and comfort with the baby, which was well worth it. The staff was attentive throughout the day, regularly checking on us and bringing water and fresh towels.

Since we spent several days at Disney, we didn’t have the chance to take advantage of the many daily activities offered at the resort, but we look forward to doing so when we return.

Room was in serious need of updates. Couch was stained so I was wary of sitting on it. Sheets were worn out and wrinkly and would not stay tucked. Baseboard grout was black with mold. Lint from a dryer nearby kept blowing under the front door of our room. The painted concrete on the patio was coming up in huge chunks and the door latch to the patio did not lock. No new towels were provided during our stay and the humidity in the bathroom was so high they never dried.

Stunning property! Florida weather and foliage was a sight for sore eyes after this East Coast winter. Great stay for a multigenerational vacation

Just the area

As a Bonvoy member, I’m disappointed. The main goal of this property is to sell timeshares. Since, I arrived late and will be leaving early, I missed this pressure sale. My biggest pet peeve is I had to pay $31.00 for parking - as a Bonvoy member. The reason this is problematic is they have plenty of parking here. The outside of my room had left over housekeeping items and was dirty. However, the room itself was very nice and clean - thank you. WiFi is weak and everything closed here at 9:00, so I had to leave the property to eat, which turned out okay. I guess as a member and having stayed at numerous properties, I expected better and received less.
