When I handed the front desk associate my world of Hyatt card with my ID, he said “Here you go, we won’t need that”, and placed the card back onto the counter. I have always needed to present the card I used for payment for incidentals, and I was definitely not welcomed at a discoverist. Oddly enough the water is usually a huge luxury, but since it was 91 degrees, I definitely asked for it. When the sssociate accidentally checked us into a room that was occupied on the third floor, he didn’t even say he was sorry or acknowledge the mistake, and just checked us into another room. I was pretty stunned. We then called regarding the noise and were directed to the city of Scottsdale for any complaints. No empathy, no explanation, no assistance. Really brutal.
Great hotel especially for spring training. Close to Old town Scottsdale and The Sugar Bowl. Very safe. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Will stay again.

Not so good. I did get a tub but got a handicap room. Tub was yellowed with age, but it worked. Desk in room is tiny. I was there for offsite business but also had work to do and it was hard on that tiny desk. Kitchenette was good with 3/4 size refrigerator and stovetop, but very limited stuff, i.e. no pots or pans..so why have a kitchen if you provide nothing to cook with? Some utensils, dishes and cups. I guess you just microwave and call it good. Anyway, not that important to me. Bed was not comfortable at all and was tiny like one of those old style tiny standard beds. Why not up your game and put in at least a regular size queen of decent quality. There is room in the separate bedroom for that. Location OK if you have business in Scottsdale downtown or going to the pre-season baseball games. Generally quiet but did have one night with a lot of hooting and hollering going on. Front desk staff people were nice. Just not as nice as I would expect from a Hyatt. Would I return? Nope. But, I was able to use points so that made the 3 night stay more bearable. Also, there was a question in the survey about a resort fee. I did not get charged one due to using points, but this hotel is definitely not a "resort." It is more like a motor hotel at best.
We stayed one night due to the attractive rate and convenient Old Town location. The suite layout is spacious, which is clear positives
However, the property is quite worn. Our room had a noticeable musty odor and the finishes and soft goods appear dated. The exterior corridor layout and lack of elevators also make it feel more like an older motel than a traditional hotel.
We also experienced a delay at check-in, as no one was at the front desk for a period of time and the staff barely cared when we asked where the check in person was.
Overall, it may be acceptable if price and location are your only drivers, but expectations should be set accordingly. We would will choose a newer property in the area next time. The Canopy is great.
I didn’t like the long wait for the deposit refund; it took over a month. That’s why I’m giving 8 instead of 9.
This is the perfect place for us to stay when I am traveling with one or both of our daughters. We can get a room with a full kitchen and two completely separate bedrooms. The price is usually very reasonable but a little higher than normal during this stay.
The man at the front desk was not extremely helpful or informative. He might have been having a bad day.
I have never been to a hotel with such great staff. They were amazing - so nice and helpful with everything. Went above and beyond each day. The hotel is not as posh but the rooms were comfortable.
Stayed at the Hyatt House to attend the Fiesta Bowl Championship. Reservation was prepaid with a Wednesday check in as plan was for arrival early Thursday morning . Confirmed in advance to set for previous day check in as arrival would be early Thursday morning. When I arrive my reserved room was given away however staff was able to quickly resolve and get me into a room. Everything went well until check out . Called front desk to pay for late check out which was confirmed . Around check out time manager who later identified himself as Gonzolo preceded to bang on the door . He advised my fiance we needed to get out and were past our time ,m. He was dismissive and did not allow my fiance to get a word in to explain the late check out confirmation . Noticing the situation was escalating i proceeded to deescalate by attempting to explain and again Gonzolo dominated the conversation and didnt give room for me to speak. I finally got him to give me a second and advised that we did speak to front desk as well as confirmed price in which Gonzolo likely realized we did infact communicate with staff . Rather than apologize for his dismissive , accusatory, and disrespectful he advised he would reprimand front desk for not properly communicating . As a manager Gonzolo needs customer service and de escalation training. He made what would of been a great stay , end on a sour note . His tone made us feel as if we were stealing money or doing something wrong . Horrible manager !
Polite staff, good breakfast, nice room! Location was perfectly located in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale, walkable to restaurants and shops.

We've stayed a few times and keep coming back. The staff are friendly, the rooms clean and spacious, breakfast is great and we love the hot tub and firepit in the evening. All this within walking distance to Old Town Scottsdale!
The rooms were dirty. The carpet and furniture had stains on them. The tv does not have a guide. You are given a list of channels but have to stay on each one until you figure out what on. The info button did not say what show was on. Finding something to watch was a 20 minute process. The other big disappointment was on the website it lists a food menu for the H bar. There was no food only drinks. The place is perfectly positioned in the old town area. Close to everything. The kitchen with oven and regular size refigerator was awesome. We could bring back leftovers and eat them later. The staff were all very nice. Breakfast was ok; it was free so can't complain. The hotel needs some serious renovations.
