The front desk girl we loved her! I can’t remember her name but she worked while we were there. She was so helpful. Our room was amazing! Room 632 huge room with two queen beds not side by side but at an angle to one another.
Great hotel. Room was comfortable and the beds were nice. Friendly staff. Convenient parking (paid). Close to Boston Children's Hospital.
No fault of the inns, but there was a lot of street noise and sirens overnight. To be expected in an area loaded with hospitals, but I never thought about it until we experienced it. Bring earplugs just in case? May have just been a busy night?
The location of this hotel was perfect for us. My son attends a local college, so we were ablet to walk and use public transportation. It is also very convenient to have onsite parking.
When we entered the room the toilet seat was up and the toilet paper did not look new so we were concerned someone may have been in the room prior to us. Additionally, the water pressure in the shower was extremely weak.
Location was perfect. We had appointments at Dana Farber. Also food was easily accessible.
Felt very rushed and nothing was explained at check in ( deposit). Disappointed no heat or vent in bathroom
Location was great
I just pay a little too much for the room for a small room. The staff are not friendly at all.
Had a food court on site.
Lot of hidden fees they say they have parking but it cost $25 a night. The parking garage is not clearly lables that its the parking for the hotel.
Location
We had NO WATER!
Simple accommodations and conveniently located near local hospitals. In-house restaurant has good food and front desk staff member Angel was very friendly and helpful.
The hotel does not have a great lobby or terrific amenities
It does have a no-nonsense arrangement at check in. Did not see any porters. There are two passenger elevstors. Unfortunately, they were inoperable one afternoon. My room on the seventh floor was extremely clean and comfortable. There is a food court on the third floor so you have a wide choice of food. There is a very nice restaurant wity table service, but the hours of operation are inconsistent.
I would say that this is a fine property especially given its location. I will be a visitor in the future and I recommend it for most visitors.
We stayed here because it was easy walking distance to the hospital where my sister was having surgery.
I took a shower at 5:00 am and there was absolutely NO hot water. It ranged from cold to practically ice cube. When my husband asked the front desk if there had been a problem with the water heater, they said it was an old building and it took a while for the water to heat up (it never heated up for me). But my relative, who was staying an additional night, forwarded a letter from them saying, "Necessary repairs require us to schedule a hot water shutdown in the building...."
When I was contacted to give them a good review, I told the rep (again) of my experience. I got the same response -- "It's an old building..." When I referenced the letter, the rep ghosted me.
We should have been compensated. Access to hot water in a hotel is a given — and they not only failed, they didn't really care. So if you want to take a hot shower during your stay, I wouldn't stay here.
The location is a 5 min walk to Brigham and Women’s hospital, the area is safe and the room was very clean with basic necessities. The Inn has a restaurant on the first floor, food was great- to dine in or take back to the room. There are additional food options close by. The staff was friendly and accommodating when I checked out early due to my spouse’s shortened hospitalization. I stayed for six nights and would stay here again if further needs arise.
We stayed here for one night before going to a medical appointment, and had a very smooth and pleasant experience. We parked at the attached Longwood Galleria Garage, and they gave us a swipe card during checkin so we could have unlimited entries/exits from the garage. It's not a big hotel and is super comfortable - our bed was the perfect balance of firm but not too hard. The hotel was incredibly clean and pleasant. Hotel staff were friendly and professional from start to finish; checking in/out both went smoothly. There's room service from the attached restaurant, or you can go to one of the nearby restaurants. We ordered delivery for a meal, and the front desk kept our food safe for us until we came downstairs to fetch it. There's a bit of noise from the street (we heard an ambulance), but it's still surprisingly quiet given how much activity is happening outside.
Comfort, cleanliness and location. It is a short walk to the major hospital where my wife was a patient for five days.
I had a hard time getting hot water in the shower in the evenings. The woman at the desk said it was necessary to let the water run for 15-20 minutes to get hot water on the upper floors. Why then would they use energy efficient low flow shower heads and then waste many gallons of water?
At 20:39pm on December 12th. I stopped by the Longwood INN and the front desk lady was incredibly short and dry in her greeting. I dismissed it thinking that I’m probably overthinking it, but when it came time to show my registration, she said she didn’t see my name, in the most rude tone and demeanor. I suggested that maybe my reservation was in my host name at Harvard Medical School, and proceeded the show her the reservation number when she claimed that even that couldn’t be found. As I was showing this to her, which is on my phone, she wouldn’t even come close to it, so she couldn’t read it, everything about her communication to me said “we don’t want you here”. She was finally able to find my reservation after looking closely at my phone. At which point she declared that my reservation had been canceled because i didn’t check in yesterday as indicated in my original reservation. She rudely went on to tell me that even though my reservation was from yesterday (11th) to tomorrow (13th), my reservation had been canceled and there’s nothing she could do. I was shocked, and frankly distressed, because the temperature outside was 26C, and the prospect of not having shelter because of a technicality was daunting. I asked if she could provide proof that me or Harvard were previously notified of this cancellation, and she couldn’t provide any proof of such a notification. I explained that Harvard would have notified me and booked a new room or hotel if they knew my room was canceled. I was the keynote speaker today. Harvard has been a great host and would be shocked to hear this.
She murmured something that I couldn’t hear and went to the back room for several minutes, then returned to provide me with my room keys. As a doctor, I travel around the country virtually every month. I’ve never ever, in my near 20 years doing this, experienced such a poor and rude front desk hotel worker. I’m glad my wife and kids were not here with me to experience this. We lived in the Longwood area for several years and now own a home. We’ve been great patrons to this community, got married here, had our first daughter here, and I return every other year when Harvard invites me to lecture. I’ve previously recommended this place, though never stayed until today. But I regret that now and will not do that again. We will make sure to notify the university and medical school of this terrible and disturbing customer service.
Due to a winter storm in our area, we arrived early at the hotel. We were told there would be a $50 charge to check in then, but no mention of the fact we could have checked in at 2:00 with no charge. Our medical appointment was at 3:00. We then left our luggage at the desk and when we returned from a long day at the hospital we checked in and found our room.
On Tuesday night, we returned from dinner to find that the elevators were not working and so we needed to climb seven flights of stairs to our room. On Wednesday morning,
we woke up to only on elevator working.
We settled in to our room to watch the Celtics game. Well, we found that the hotel has not renewed the sports package.! Really? Bruins and Celtics - pretty big in Boston!
When leaving, we accidentally left our parking pass in our room, but were told at the desk to just show our receipt to the person in the garage. Well, that person was totally not in agreement to doing that. He made it very clear that this was much more work for him!
Very happy to be done.
The location in reference to the hospital which we had testing done.
The elevator was nonfunctional for most of our stay and our room was on the top floor.
