Disappointing stay – poor service and lack of information
Pros:

We had been up since 4:00 in the morning, driving a long way and taking the ferry from Larvik to Hirtshals. By the time we arrived at the hotel we were exhausted, hungry, and tired. The restaurant was dark and empty, with a sign saying it was fully booked. Reception explained this was due to staff illness – but why not arrange a substitute?

Instead, we were handed a yellow slip with “Just Eat” and “Wolt.” We tried to find a restaurant in town with parking but failed, and eventually had to order food through Wolt.

Parking became another problem: we paid about 124 DKK for 24 hours via EasyPark. When checking out at 11:00 the next day, we tried to stop the parking but couldn’t – we were charged for five days. The hotel had not informed us about this, which we found very poor service.

Overall, our stay was marked by lack of help from reception, no food available at the hotel, and unpredictable parking costs. We had expected better service, information, and flexibility from a hotel in this price range.

Lille men rigtig fin pool, og udgang til havet.

Great place to stay
Pros:

Great location with views out on the bay. Good breakfast and very helpful staff. Close to the Moesgaard museum.

Cons:

First room had a heavy barn door to the bathroom. There was a problem with the sink draining so we were moved to another room with a standard door to the bathroom.

Uitzicht

Cons:

Dit hotel is vergane glorie. Oud en duur. Iedere dag staat de badkamer blank door een tekort douchegordijn, kamers worden alleen op verzoek schoongemaakt, en dat wordt niet verteld bij inchecken, tissues op na dag 1, nooit meer bijgevuld. Constant gebrom van een compressor of ander apparaat, waarschijnlijk van een naastgelegen kamer. Vlekken in het tapijt en de vitrage die overigens ook kapot is. Ontbijt: ei koud, jus d’orange uit een machine, tafels worden alleen afgeruimd maar niet schoongemaakt. Geen eigen parkeerplaats, deze is uitbesteed aan Qpark, dus per uur betalen terwijl je slaapt. Op zondag is het restaurant gesloten, wordt ook niet gemeld, en zonder auto is er geen nabije optie.
