We used it before and after the Huayhuash circuit hike. Try to get the larger room - the small room is just too tiny and has a super small shower. The big room was great to prepare for the hike and after the hike to dry out our clothes.
Staff was super helpful - even at 4am. Breakfast was very small for hungry hikers - but very very good and tasty.
You should upgrade to the larger room!

The rooms are nice enough and the bed was comfortable.
The area is very noisy and far away from the city center, although at least close to the Cruz del Sur Terminal. The communal areas look nice but are somewhat neglected and were hardly used by anybody. Staff don't speak any English (although without any Spanish it is not easy to get around in the Cordillera Blanca Region in general). Some staff were friendly and helpful, others not. At breakfast I had the feeling to have to ask for everything and at one occasion I actually ended up getting up hungry.

Book a bit in advance! This one is a catch. Common area is not photo shopped, or glorified … VERY tastefully done!! Very home feeling. Staff wonderful, and will go out of their way to help you out. Food is a 10/10!! Aside from breakfast, do one dinner here (We stayed twice). Nothing but good to say.
Pay a bit more, don’t cheap here!! …. We had a lovely large room for three of us the first stay … Second stay was a much smaller room (hence book ahead), we got the last room on a Saturday night and it was a bit dark and no comparison to first.
The staff was super friendly and willing to help all the time. The location is good and the facilities as well.

Location is a bit far from centre and our room was quite dark / bathroom was damp. Other rooms are being renovated so maybe it will be fine in future but it's worth checking your room when you arrive.

The room we stayed in had mould or at least some sort of grey nasty dirt on walls and ceilings, which did not feel clean.
No hot water in the evening when we wanted to take a shower.
The lobby was very loud, the whole family was there: watching tv, someone listening to music, someone watching/listening to their phone loudly.
