The location is great. What a lovely building, which has been renovated in keeping with the period features. The room decor was very nice and the breakfast was great.
The bathroom and toilet area wasn’t very private. The shower was really good but the very small toilet and open area where the basin was seemed very cramped.
Great room , Clean good location

Location is good with valet parking.
We were allowed to stay a bit longer in the room.
Mattress not very good. Only 3rd floor with hardly any views, though we booked superior with city views. Only one out of two elevators worked and was slow.
Only two coffee cups in the room and we always drink more than that
Very comfortable and spacious room in a fairly old building, but very well located in the heart of Auckland’s upmarket retail area.
The lift took us on a couple of unexpected trips and we struggled with a TV that kept going to sleep. The a’La Carte breakfast turned out to be a buffet offering.Pretty standard fair for a 5 star hotel.
The location
Not relevant
It was very nice and they had a great full breakfast. Also bartender made a great Manhattan!
I told three separate staff members that they should clean the handprints off the their elevator doors and no one ever did while we were there. So obvious but no one would take the time to do it.
We didn't stay for long but the room was great. The things we did like far outweighed the things we didn't so we would happily stay again and will be in June 2026
The lifts were very temperamental, the software and mechanicals need updating, and a more obvious swipe system. The swipe system is below and it doesn't look like a swipe system. You need more obvious signage for the swipe system, and you need one that is at waist or chest height.
The aircon took a bit of mucking around to work as again, not all the settings were obvious but we got it sorted in the end.
It was a bit noisy upstairs, the floors are paper thin so anybody making noise in their room or dropping things you can hear easily.
Proximity to everything
It didn't take much to see the chaos behind the illusion of luxury. Elevator repeatedly didn't work and left guests simply going between the ground floor and top floor not stopping in between, even with staff coming " along for the ride". No luggage room so bags piled up in reception looking cluttered and far from secure out in the foyer.
Quiet rooms , high ceilings
Parking situation on arrival was unclear - we wanted to valet park but couldn’t see where we were meant to pull up
Great location lovely room
Pillows maybe not the best but we used the big ones instead.
