Never ever ever stay there! Stinks of Mary Jane and dirty and SO old!!
Pros:

On arrival after a delayed 10 hour flight….after waiting for 15mins….was told that they were over booked and no room for me! I was told I’d be moved to another hotel….! I asked would there be a room there? Maybe! They’d have to take me!
Arrived after 10min taxi after already 45minutes since arriving at hotel….to arrive at a back street (no where near where I was supposed to be staying with colleagues). A dubious collection of people milling about.
Surprise! No room for me! They told them they didn’t have one for me! After waiting they miraculously found a room. After my day and night just wanted to shower and put out of my mind the disgusting room! To find a massive turd in the toilet! Demanded a different room! Messing about with staff that didn’t speak any English and finally got to sleep. In the morning told my hotel room in other hotel wasn’t available for my whole stay….to which I said I wasn’t staying there then…..so found a much better hotel ME…..to later find they had used my credit card which was just supposed to be for any room service! Not that you’d ever! And used it to charge me for 5 nights! Even though my company paid and I’m still trying to recover the money 3 months later! What service! Shocking and shameful. Had always used them in the UK! Never ever again!!

Fantastic location, can’t beat it. Walk everywhere from here. Nice hotel and good value.

Fantastic location, couldn’t be better. Great gym and laundry facility

Cons:

Lift issues caused long waits and overcrowding in lifts.
Our room wasn’t serviced properly on second day

Beautiful entry and great location. Rooms could use updates.
Pros:

The location and staff were amazing. It felt welcoming as soon as we walked in. The lobby and decor is also amazing. The water stations in the floors were a great convenience as well.
The downsides were the only working elevator was quite slow. The AC in my room struggled to cool the room down as well so it was pretty hot at night.

Pros:

La ubicación me pareció buena, a media cuadra de la avenida Michigan. En el segundo piso hay máquina de café, te y agua para consumir libremente.

Cons:

La habitación era muy chiquita, de un lado de la cama casi no había lugar para caminar. El baño era muy lindo y cómodo. Teníamos café en la habitación pero no nos repusieron las cápsulas la mitad de la estadía.

La posizione, la dimensione della camera, la comodità del letto. La possibilità di prendere il caffè a tutte le ore.

Cons:

La cassetta del pronto soccorso a disppsizione alla reception era sprovvista di un disinfettante, siamo perciò stati costretti a dover uscire a cercare una farmacia aperta h 24 durante la notte.

You can't beat the location of The River Hotel. It is close to so many things that make Chicago a wonderful place to visit. The historic hotel itself was clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff are fantastic! This was my 4th visit to Chicago and I've stayed here each time. I'll be back!

Great stay, just air wasn’t cold
Pros:

The two bedroom suite was great, lots of room. The only negative was that the air conditioner wasn’t cold, despite setting it to the lowest possible. It never got cooler than 70.

Great location!!!
Pros:

Clean, excellent location, friendly staff and beautiful views of the river in skyscrapers.

Cons:

There was no mini fridge in the room and there was no microwave available in the coffee room at all.
