Great location and staff.
Pros:

I just spent five nights at this boutique hotel. The front desk/reception staff are simply wonderful. I called about a blow dryer and they were at my room within five minutes. I called about a floor lamp and again, were there in five minutes.

The location is quite good. Several restaurants nearby. Most of the sites I wanted to see were a hike, but Amsterdam is a walkable city. It took me 25 min to walk to the Anne Frank house. BTW, taxis are super expensive.

The hotel isn’t perfect. After a housekeeping visit there was still spilled 7up on an end table. There are a few worn corners on paint, and one outlet didn’t work. But I got a good rate, so I’m fine with an error. People are human.

Breakfast was decent, but after the same thing every day it got old.

Overall highly recommend if you get a decent rate.

Location is good, decent hotel but not worth the money.

Cons:

Very basic room with smelly and wet bathroom. Not much furniture like table or space to keep things. Staff is ok but not much to help in a new place. Daily cleaning is bad, looks like they did not touch most of the things to clean. Can be 2 star hotel at less price.

The hotel markets itself as a “Boutique” hotel with room prices over EUR 500 a night. However, this is in fact one of the poorest hotels I have stayed in for a long time, as a frequent business traveller. The lack of basic room amenities was notable - no mini fridge, kettle or phone, a poor hairdryer, no drinking glasses, no water and no robes. The front desk cited the lack of these items were due to the fact that Albus is an “eco” hotel - yet this eco hotel provided me with 8 pieces of paper at check in, had disposable cups in the bathroom and plastic miniatures (which have long been replaced in actual “eco” hotels)..The room itself was bare, with no effort made in finishes. The bedding was extremely poor, a thin duvet with very tired looking sheets and towels that were thread bare and yellowing. I see from online forums that many of the above issues have been raised previously and seemingly ignored by management.

Short but sweet stay
Pros:

We had a wonderful two-day stay at Albus hotel with my daughter and truly enjoyed every moment. The location was excellent, making it easy to get around and explore.

Our room was cozy, quiet, and very comfortable—perfect for relaxing after a busy day. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with anything we needed.

Most importantly, we felt safe, welcomed, and genuinely well taken care of throughout our stay. It was a lovely experience for both of us, and we would gladly return. Highly recommended!

Pros:

L’emplacement, c’est tout

Cons:

Chambre sombre sans pouvoir ouvrir les fenêtres, meuble poussiéreux, pas de chaîne française malgré affichées, demande à La réception sans succès .. douche dangereuse glissante pas de pression, odeur d’égouts , eau coule dans la cuvette ..pas de mini bar, pas de bouteille d’eau pour un 4 étoiles..
