Had to put bug bombs in car with our luggage to make sure the roaches did not come home with us.
Pros:

We liked the breakfast and close to the pier and boardwalk.

Cons:

Had small german cockroaches in room comeing out from under beds and in kitchen cabinets. The kitchen cabinets were loose and almost falling off. I had a screwdriver in my bag and fixed some of them. Bathroom sink drained slow and the pool bottom has big chunk out of it and cut the bottom of my foot just right of the stairs about five feet. I have been coming to this establishment since 1989 as the Mayan and it looks like it has just gone downhill. I wish I could go back in time!!!!!!!!!

Blessing in disguise!
Pros:

This hotel was a blessing. After a late night search due to an issue with another hotel, the saff was absolutely amazing. The night Manager was the nicest and gave all 4 of my teens a special night. The rooms were clean, service was fantastic.

Best stay at Daytona Beach so far, and we are locals!
Pros:

The location was perfect! It was clean, quiet, but yet outside was active. You could see both sides from the room. The oceanfront on one side and the boardwalk from the other side. The staff was awesome and the breakfast was great, clean, and staff was there to assist with anything you needed. I highly recommend!

Cons:

The only thing we could say is maybe have a few more luggage carriers available, and sausage gravy and biscuits to the breakfast buffet. Other than that, honestly can’t think of anything.

Liked the hotel on beach

Cons:

The staff was rude. The front desk manager nicole was the only nice lady. My friend complained to the front desk lady, around 11pm, that the elevator was nasty and full of water. Around 12am security is knocking at my door arguing with me that how dare I say that complaint in front of guests. It wasn't that bad but he still had to mop the floor. Because there was water. Don't know why he had to argue with us. It was my own fault for opening the door to a man so late at night. I should of just called the police to be safe. Having a grown man at 12am flailing his arms around arguing about water in the elevator is not how I needed to end my day.

Great Location, but watch for BED BUGS
Pros:

Location was great, right on the beach, and a beach restaurant was there with great food options. Locally there were shops and restaurants for more options.

Cons:

We found BED BUGS after the first night, we complained at reception showing them my SWOLLEN EYELID, swollen fingers and arm however we were not believed, they sent a member of the cleaning staff to look. Initially she found nothing, then I showed her two bed bugs in a plastic cup which I caught earlier, but she said that they "looked like ants" (they were clearly not!!). I insisted she looked again, she eventually agreed as she said "saw movement" behind the mattress under the headboard. We were only then moved to another room for the following night. We requested a refund of that nights (one single night) however we were told by the manager that the hotel policy was that we could not get a refund as we booked through Booking.com, they instead gave us "Choices Hotel" points, she gave us no other options but to accept this.

Later that day my wife started showing symptoms herself of these bed bug bites - on her back, legs and arms. My symptoms have gone but she still has a lot of marks which are still itching over one week on and will probably leave scares. People react differently to such bites.

The room itself "LOOKED CLEAN" but it was FILTHY BEHIND THE BED (below the headboard). I suggest that any guest check their beds for bugs once the room is allocated, otherwise they may experience trauma for weeks after.
