The Lalu, Sun Moon Lake

There are lots of sand flies and I was badly beaten. Pls remember to spray insect repellent and keep the balcony doors closed.

Service staff are above and beyond in making sure we feel welcomed and at home. The entire hotel feels semi-outdoor with tons of open walls and huge windows. Despite this unique environmental set up, the hotel remained super clean and well maintained. Impressive. Room is clean and the belcony is truly one of its kind. This is my best hotel stay experience ever.

A truly elegant property with an incredibly gracious staff — we were treated like royalty from the moment we checked in. The view of Sun Moon Lake from our suite (3F), overlooking the resort’s beautiful 60-meter pool, was absolutely spectacular. There are beautiful hardwood floors throughout the room and the property, made from some of the most expensive wood in Taiwan, and as a technical clarification, the bed in our room was unquestionably a King, not the Queen listed in Expedia. We actually extended our stay for a fourth night and really enjoyed our time on Sun Moon Lake. We very highly recommend both Sun Moon Lake and The Lalu!

The Lalu at Sun Moon Lake is fantastic! The staff and everyone there was great! The spa treatment was superb and the views from the room were on point-truly beautiful.

A quite exclusive hotel overlooking Sun Moon Lake. Although not new it retains its well-deserved 5 Star ranking very well. The hotel was nice and quiet with only a few guests in evidence and the view of the lake was nice.

The rooms each have its own music which we enjoyed as well as a library offering books and CD's. Personally I liked the internal coy carp pond outside our room and my only negative observations is that we found some of the areas within the hotel a little dark.

Stayed here as part of a three day private tour. Glad we picked this hotel class as the further away you’re from the city, the less modern facilities are. So this was a nice place to relax after a long day of driving from Taipei and sightseeing around the lake. Had a beautiful room on 5th floor facing the lake. Felt it was comfy and clean and gorgeous views. Staff was so nice and helpful. Loved the welcome plum vinegar tea which is homemade by them. Since we were tired we had dinner at the Chinese restaurant in the hotel. Guests do not need to meet the minimum spend. The food was good. Breakfast buffet was also very nice. Lots of Asian and western options. I’d recommend only because the next hotel we stayed at was not so comfy and was also considered 5 stars so I can’t imagine what a Lower class hotel might feel like in the countryside.

We really enjoyed our stays. Staff are all very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable including the shuttle driver and the retail staff. The room, spa services, and onsen are my favorites. My husband enjoyed the free yoga classes and the gym. We both love the plum tea and the beef noodle soup at the bar areas. Will definitely come back and stay again!!! Thank you !!!
