Very relaxing, good staff. Couldn’t ask for a better stay

Retro feel- poolside ambiance- garden and koi pond view-amenities like beach chairs to use- closeness to Waikiki beach

The White Sands is a perfect hotel for those who want a less commercial and overdone chain experience. The place has style and a great staff. The pool/bar area has great energy and lots of great music and people. The speak easy was and extra bit of kitsch. All around good time. We will be back. Prices are very reasonable also. The happy hour is a great deal and California residents get a discount.

I would rate 4 out of 5 just for minor hiccups. Was surprised that they don’t have elevator though ; gladly we didn’t have a huge luggage to carry towards the stairway. Other than that, the two front desk of which one attended to me right away and checked that we can already be at our room which was awesome! Thank you… Also, when I request for a room clean up & new towels, I waited & was explained by Myra that she had to do first that needed attention for new guests. I totally understand and we clicked coz we both are from the Philippines islands. Thanks Myra for attending my needs & extras.

Hidden bar/speakeasy is a plus
Reception staff very nice
Location great but really Waikiki area so small that any hotel here is walkable

Cons -
Rooms old and musty with tiny bathrooms. Big disappointment
This place in great need of renovation
Housekeeping was pretty bad and non-existent
Get more beach chairs!

The pool and bar a vibe I would stay at a different hotel and visit only. I would not recommend staying here. The smell down by the ice machine and walking up to the rooms was terrible. It’s a mix of pee and zoo. The rooms were nice to see we had a balcony and a table but the bed was just not something you’d expect at a hotel. The comforter for the beds it’s self are thin top sheets they’re both completely see through they give you two. The sheets over the mattress itself came off every night and we are not crazy sleepers never has that even happened at my home or any other hotel. The bathroom has no vet fan to help with humidity and you can smell it. The bathroom door if closed smells like wet mold and there are black spots on the walls where they have you hang towels and near the shower it’s self. The shower curtain was just a see through sheet piece that was always wet and just grossed me out every time I touched it.

The staff were super friendly and the bar was nice for a sunset drink. Also the rooms were very cute.

We absolutely love the White Sands Hotel and staff. It is the only place we stay when on Oahu. We love it so much we come twice a year! It is truly our happy place. Relaxing, authentic, delicious and overall the vibe you want when on the island. Its location is perfect and the rooms are so beautiful and comfortable. I can’t say enough good things about it. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Great hidden gem hotel with great staff to match. A vintage inspired island getaway with tons off. Hot tub pull. Swing bar and even a couple weekly entertainment activities. To top it off the staff is incredible and so helpful. RJ brought such a positive vibe and makes a solid latte. Once again I can’t state enough how helpful and accommodating everyone was.

Big hotel chains are nice but if you want a memorable more authentic experience white sands is the place to go!

The White Sands Hotel is a gem of a place, wonderfully located near Waikiki and the beach. The front desk employee “RJ” went out of his way to make us feel at home, making coffee, ordering food, telling us some helpful information,

My mom & I had the most amazing time at the White Sands Hotel! The atmosphere is absolutely amazing—very warm vibes. The staff had great cohesion and were very helpful at all times. RJ greeted us win a big, infectious smile & made us the best morning coffee! Maygan was also really helpful. We LOVED dining at the bar & highly recommend eating there. The location is super convenient to waikiki beach which was a priority for us. We happened to be there overlapping with Super Bowl Sunday and it was such a fun place to celebrate…the Benito Bowl. Lastly, the valet guys were all spectacular & kept our car safe. Highly recommend this place & cannot wait to stay here again!

I love White sands because of the decor of the room. Even if it’s a standard room, it gives off a suite type room, which makes it very comfortable for me. The cleanliness and the flooring of the bathroom always gets me. Very unique! The staff are all so cool and so polite with so much Aloha! I have never seen one of the staff without a smile on. The atmosphere and the vibe of the whole place is great! This is a hotel I would go, to de-stress!!!

3. Our poolside room had a microwave and a teapot, and a little sink - very useful if you need a late night snack from ABC store.
