Cons:

The bartender refused to make our drinks just a little bit sweeter than what was on the menu, we simply asked if the drink could add more syrup or sweetener or less alcohol because we liked it sweeter. However the bartender said the flavors had to be balanced and he couldn’t change the drink..

Staycation with pup
Pros:

This was a perfect little spot to stay in Waikiki with my pup. She loved sitting by the pool and people watching. The room was perfect and we really enjoyed hanging with family that was in town. Staff was all so friendly and was nice to fill welcome with my bestie.

Awesome boutique hotel in Waikiki
Pros:

We had to fumigate our home and with two dogs. It was very stressful. However, Surfjack hotel made this very easy for us. We stayed for two nights, the pool was awesome, restaurant at the hotel was great. I can’t say enough about the staff. They were friendly, helpful and did everything to make our mini vacation with two dogs as nice as possible. I highly recommend. We negotiation will be back.

Kauai and Shephard are fantastic
Pros:

This hotel is a real gem. We stayed here with the recommendation of our friend who said it’s her favorite hotel. The staff has been reviewed in the reviews before that we read. All good things were said. They live up to everything that was said about them positively. The people working here are kind, caring, and attentive. Especially like to mention. Kauai and Shephard have especially gone the extra miles! We love it here.

Pros:

The location was central to everything and the hotel was beautiful. It was so calm and relaxing. We loved the restaurant and coffee shop at the hotel and there were so many places to lounge.

Cons:

The parking situation is not the most ideal but pick up and drop off in front of the hotel was convenient.

A great deal and well located
Pros:

We had a large family vacation in HI and the Surfjack was chosen for its reasonable cost and location.

While on the more modest side, we ended up really enjoying ourselves there. Every evening there was really great live music by the pool which prompted us to stay and enjoy the bar and food while listening to music. It is about 1/2 block away from major shopping, 1 block from the beach and other tourist sites.

Very clean cute rooms and a great bar and poolside restaurant.

Great location but not for noise, hygiene sensitive folks
Pros:

Great location. Walkable distance to most shops and couple bus routes just around the corner.

Cons:

Cleanliness: the pillows were stinky when we first got in and the room had an odor. Exchanged for fresh pillows but why weren’t they clean/fresh in the first place? Had bugs in the room and hair on the floor. Interiors seem dated.

Noise: wall is super thin, you could clearly hear everything from the next room. We had someone playing music on speaker for the whole night and could hear them screaming and laughing. The facility has live music until 8:30pm and it also played music into the night (cause it’s kind of a restaurant/bar downstairs). If you shut the windows it’s pretty good sound proof but you will hear the noise from your neighbours and the corridor.

WiFi: connection was extreme unstable, had to reconnect almost every half an hour.

Shower: the hot water doesn’t seem to be consistent. Had to run the tap for at least 5 min to get some lukewarm water coming.
