King George, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Athens

We stayed at the King George Hotel in Athens over New Year, and it was truly a wonderful experience.
As a Lifetime Platinum member, I was very pleased to be upgraded to a lovely, generously sized room with a spectacular view of the Acropolis. The room had two balconies overlooking the square, which made the stay extra special as we were even able to watch the New Year’s celebrations directly from our balcony, an unforgettable moment.
The location is excellent, right in the heart of the city. Everything is within walking distance, making it easy to explore Athens and its main sights without needing transport.
Breakfast was absolutely amazing, both in quality and variety, and the view of the Acropolis from the breakfast area made it even more special. The service throughout the hotel was outstanding. I honestly cannot find a single negative point.
We also appreciated the thoughtful touches: a beautiful chocolate shaped like the hotel façade, and on New Year’s Eve, we were pleasantly surprised with a Vasilopita cake to enjoy on New Year’s Day. These gestures really made us feel welcome and valued.
Overall, an exceptional stay with fantastic service, an unbeatable location, and memorable views. I would happily return and highly recommend the King George Hotel to anyone visiting Athens, especially for a special occasion.

Such a wonderful hotel! My family spends 90 nights a year in hotels all over the world and I would place the King George right up at the top!

Right off the bat, it’s in a perfect location. It’s one block to the Parliament building (don’t miss the changing of the guard at the top of every hour!), a 15 minute walk to the Acropolis, and an even shorter walk to all the shopping and restaurants you could ever want.

The restaurant on the 7th floor has an amazing view of the Parthenon and a fireplace for coziness. The breakfast buffet was large, varied and delicious.

The staff couldn’t have been any more attentive, friendly and helpful.

We had two connecting rooms (fantastic for families!) and they were spacious with fresh flowers and nightly turn down service.

5 stars, two thumbs up, 10 out of 10. Just a great hotel!

I treated my granddaughter to a fabulous Spring Break trip to Greece. We stayed at the King George and it was pure perfection. . It is luxurious, beautiful, and perfectly located. The staff are friendly, efficient, and anticipate your every need. Communication prior to arrival was simple and helpful. Our gorgeous room had a view of the Acropolis, an unexpected treat. We had dinner at Tudor Hall and it was the most fabulous meal of our trip with impeccable service and creative cuisine. All in all, a perfect visit. I hope to return and wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Athens.

The hotels location is perfect to explore this city .Having stayed 4 nights nights we couldn’t have asked for more
Friendly and helpful staff from reception , everyone at the bar area , bell boys everyone at breakfast they couldn’t have done more ,some of the best I have experienced.

I had the pleasure to have my annual pre Easter break at this wonderful hotel in March.
To soak up the atmosphere of Athens.

Over the past 20years I have stayed in hotels across Athens for a week. This luxury hotel is truly superb with the venue, staff's caring lovely atmosphere, attitude and attention to me, a solo traveller.
I felt like a valued guest.
The bedroom was luxurious as well as the beautiful marble bath. For once I did not feel as if I was staying in a box room due to being single.
Breakfast exceeded expectations overlooking the acropolis. The bespoke cocktails in the ground floor were delicious and unique in flavour.
I shall definitely return.

We stayed here for a few days earlier this week and felt it was one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in. Our balcony room was utterly immaculate, serviced to perfection twice a day. The air conditioning was silent but effective, the bed was incredibly comfortable and the balcony gave us a great vantage point for the Independence Day parade. Breakfast is comprehensive and superb, and the downstairs lobby serves great cocktails and small plates. The staff are wonderful, polite but genuinely welcoming. An amazing experience and we will undoubtedly stay again.

There was some noise on a Sunday morning, when i informed reception they took care of it in 5 min, we were up graded to their biggest suite, it was HUGE, did not expect that, it’s not like i was complaining or being rude, they just did it and it was super nice of them
