I travel to Lahey in Burlington every two months. I usually stay in Burlington close to 'Lahey'. I decided to treat myself as I am platinum/ambassador and have only stayed at 'Intercontinental hotels' for the last twenty years. My first time at a Kimpton was better than I expected. 5*+. Recognition of Club status, upgrade and a hotel that has a wonderful staff. After so many years of staying only at IHG, I am acquainted with many of the General Directors in Europe.I saw the same results when the GM and his staff cover all facets of the hotel prodigiously. The final result is an exemplary stay. The hotel restaurant was marvelous. No need to go out searching for a restaurant. The breakfast was of the same caliber . The rooms were well appointed and sparkling clean. Cozy and top line modern. I just loved the hotel. BTW, I brought my Golden Retriever 'Skye' , who is usually more polite and well-behaved than most people when staying at a hotel. She was in her glory by the attention she recieved.
I am coming back this month and I've already booked my stay at my new favorite hotel when I go to Burlington, The Kimpton. I notice everything at an IHG hotel and the professional team with a dash of warmth was the perfect combination.
See you next week.
Excellent stay. I loved the social hour from 5 to 6pm, where they give out free wine and you get to meet other guests
I called several times to try and get a pair of shoes I had left from a stay a few weeks prior. The phone was kept on hold and I was not given a definitive answer, so I went to the hotel in person.
All of the Front Desk staff were truly very sweet, patient, and accommodating- with the exception of the manager. Sophie was inmediately very short and impatient.
She spoke down to me when I provided the dates of my stay, and was clearly very frustrated when she could not find me in the system. Once she found my reservation, I was given the wrong pair of shoes- with another room number on the label of the bag. I told her that these were not my shoes- and her answer was “Well this is all we have.” I told her I left my shoes with one of her colleagues, and she proceeded to raise her voice- I even had to ask for her not to talk to me like that
This was after they had already confirmed my name and prior room number. I asked her to please check the bell closet, so she went to look for them there as well. While she walked away, one of the agents at the desk was kind enough to offer me some water, she was very polite.
Please ensure that Sophie knows not to speak to a guest like that ever again. It was frankly very disappointing- the stay itself had been fantastic and everyone else was really kind. The shoes were ultimately found, however, I should have not been spoken to like that.
The location is great, and the facilities were in good condition. The room was overall comfortable - good bed, hot shower, etc. Some of the front desk staff were super helpful. We would probably stay here again if the price is right.
Our experiences with the reception desk staff were uneven. Two staff members were *super* helpful - above and beyond, while the rest seemed annoyed or indifferent - not quite the 4-star service expected for a Kimpton. The only downside of the room itself was that the blackout curtains didn't really hold back the light very well around the margins.
Piacevole soggiorno in una perfetta location e di Boston!!
Grazie all’ambiente curato e dal design bello e accogliente era bello tornare..
Alcune persone al desk molto gentili… altre no!
Stayed at the Kimpton while celebrating our daughter’s college graduation this past weekend. Huge thank you to Tara and Ben for making it extra special!
I recently stayed at Kimpton Marlowe Hotel and had an outstanding experience from start to finish. The service was exceptional, and every staff member was warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. A special thank you to Mike at the front desk, who went above and beyond to make our stay memorable.
Before I even arrived, I called on the day of check-in and they had already blocked a room for me, arranged an early check-in, and even upgraded my room. For my birthday, the team surprised me with champagne, strawberries, and cookies, which was such a thoughtful and generous touch.
My party felt truly welcomed throughout the entire stay. Even when I noticed my shower was not working properly, they sent an engineer right away to fix the issue and followed up afterward to make sure everything was resolved.
It is rare to find a hotel with both excellent service and such personal care. I will definitely be back again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Cambridge.
We didn't have breakfast there
Very disappointed. Hotel is ok, no microwave in rooms, no tea offered, 1 bar of soap for the whole room. Breakfast is horrible on weekends. Line over 50 people long at 9.30 on weekends…was expecting more for this hotel and will not be back. For a Kimpton, it’s not well managed…
Second time staying here. Chose this hotel again because our first time in the previous summer was awesome and because we are IHG Diamond Elite members. Second time was lackluster. The room that they put us in was right next to the gym. People on the treadmill could see directly into our room. We had to have the curtains closed during our entire stay. Plus, you could hear the heavy weights being dropped to the floor. The hallway also had this greasy smell. We could not pinpoint why since the rooms are regular hotel rooms and not suites with kitchens.
Rooms were nice, restaurant nice and close to where I had to go.
Plus parking
My husband is a patient at a local hospital in Boston sudden admission. So I had to bring the dog! Really PET friendly. But the staff, every single one, KIND. Helped us through this troubling time. I will never forget this hotel or all the kind staff
Hotel was clean, modern and located convenient to things. Food from the restaurant was good, but the hostess was not friendly at all. Just about threw the to go bag and walked away.
We only had 1 towel and no wash clothes in our room. The shower handle was broken and barely worked and there was mold in the shower mortar.
Location was great because it was next door to a small, nice mall with stores like Aldo, Victoria’s Secret, TJMaxx, Footlocker, CVS, etc. it also had a Cheesecake Factory where we had brunch and dinner. Convenient if you have forgotten to bring things with you as you can buy them from those stores!
I am not sure why the second night, both my kids and I had severe asthmatic symptoms requiring us to take our inhalers every 2 hours. I had noticed condensation on the window sills, windows obviously were unable to open, no balcony, and once we turned the heat on a little, we felt suffocated. I’m not sure if it was the carpeting- which I specifically look for hotels with no carpeting especially being pet friendly- or dust since I noticed it in the vent above the shower, or possible mold we could not see. It was very difficult to pinpoint because the hotel seemed so clean and nice/upscale. I’m really not sure what did it, but it took us a good 10 hours after leaving the hotel to start feeling better but my chest is still a bit tight. I am allergic to dust mites, pet dander (I have a toy poodle that does not cause allergies), and mold. This was the main downfall of the hotel. The other would be that there isn’t much else to walk to and eat if it’s cold outside. I would probably prefer to stay in Boston next time. Otherwise, the hotel had great staff, chargers for our phones if forgotten. They also charge 30$ per day “amenity fee” which I think is a little ridiculous because it should be included in the stay! Out of that fee, they give you a 10$ per day credit that you can use at the restaurant inside the hotel or the snack bar they have available.
To the Management Team at Kimpton Marlowe,
I am writing to share our wonderful experience during our first visit to Boston. As Chase partners, we chose your hotel for our stay and were impressed from the very beginning. Despite our early arrival, the staff handled our luggage seamlessly so we could explore the city.
We would like to especially commend Sara for her professional check-in service and helpful local tips. We also thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience; the quality of the food at both breakfast and dinner was exceptional.
Most notably, we want to recognize your doorman, Aklilu. His passion for his work is inspiring. He went above and beyond to ensure our rental bikes were in perfect condition, carefully checking every detail and inflating the tires. Such dedicated service is rare and deeply appreciated. We hope the hotel recognizes his hard work. We look forward to staying with you again in the future!
Perfect location to walk around, with the Help of Garret at front desk explained everything with so much calm and professionally, outstanding customer service. Will definitely stay at this hotel 100% recommended.
The hotel is spotless and welcoming. Great staff, and the location is also excellent. It's near public transportation and also right next to a nice mall.

We had the most enjoyable time staying at the Kimpton Marlowe in Cambridge. Parking and check-in was simple and we received a welcome gift at check in with bottles of water and some snacks as well. The rooms are newly updated and very nice. The breakfast in the restaurant was fantastic! Not to mention the complimentary coffee in the lobby was the best coffee we had all weekend! The hotel is connected through the garage to a small shopping mall where we did “mall walking” and browsing one afternoon. There is a food hall in the mall as well that also looked fantastic. We will absolutely stay here again, as we had a memorable and wonderful time!
