We stayed at the property on two occasions, a one-night stay followed by a three night’s stay after being away one night. The first time was fine, however the second time around the cost was about four times per night the cost of the first stay for a room that was marginally / fractionally larger. I enquired as there was another room just beside ours that was hugely bigger and it went for just USD 10 more than the room we were in the second time.

The property should seriously review their pricing structure. I get it that we were in down-town Stockholm and so should expect it to be expensive. In the end though I felt gouged.

Beaucoup de charme, un séjour plein de souvenirs
Pros:

Hôtel très charmant et bien situé. La décoration et l'architecture intérieur/extérieur sont magnifiques. L'ambiance est agréable, le personnel nous met immédiatement à l'aise. Le petit déjeuner est varié, dans une jolie salle. Mention spéciale pour le lounge au 1er étage avec son petit balcon et ses fauteuils.

Cons:

L'établissement est ancien, la salle de bains dans la chambre est très petite. Les toilettes,le lavabo et la douche sont extrêmement proches les uns des autres. Nous avons un peu manqué de place pour faire sécher nos serviettes.

Uitstekende locatie, heel goede uitvalsbasis voor Stockholm. Rondvaartboten heel dichtbij, alles op loopafstand. Zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel, goed ontbijt.

Cons:

De kamers zijn niet groot, met name de badkamer is erg klein.

Bij Hotel Esplanade merk je aan alles dat er tot in het kleinste detail is nagedacht over de gastbeleving. En dat voel je vanaf het moment dat je binnenstapt.
Het warme en professionele ontvangst, de prachtige en brandschone kamer, de authentieke sfeer van het interieur en zelfs details als het servies en de koffiekopjes: alles draagt bij aan het bijzondere karakter van dit hotel.
Ook het ontbijt is uitstekend: zeer uitgebreid, verzorgd en met heerlijke verse producten. Tel daarbij de fantastische ligging en het prachtige historische gebouw op en het plaatje is compleet.
Wat Hotel Esplanade voor mij vooral bijzonder maakt, is dat niets geforceerd aanvoelt. De sfeer, kwaliteit, persoonlijke aandacht en historie vormen samen één geheel.
Alles klopt.
Voor mij is Hotel Esplanade, in alle opzichten, het beste hotel waar ik ooit heb gelogeerd. Een plek die ik niet alleen met veel plezier aanbeveel, maar waar ik zelf heel graag naar terugkeer.

Good, for an old style hotel with no air con.
Pros:

Location. Happy reception. Great breakfast.

Cons:

No air con. Noisy with window open due to street traffic. Bikes revving. Etc.
