The pool is great, the rooms are clean.

Cons:

The staff have bad attitudes. One person at the front desk told my ten year old daughter that if she asked for anymore of the small plastic disposable cups, that she would have to charge us, while using a rude and aggravated tone with my daughter. None of the people working at this hotel seem friendly or helpful. They all seem annoyed.

The area is perfect if you want to stay on the beach, the hotel itself is good considering the price and the convenience of the restaurant/ bar is nice. However, Best Western would be ashamed of how the staff treats its paying customers at this locations. We as a family have never felt more disrespected and unwelcome at any hotel we have ever visited.

Exceptional!
Pros:

We have stayed here multiple times the rooms are always impeccable as if it was brand new. Everything is always is working and perfectly maintained. The maintenance man is very upbeat and friendly. As was the bartender along with Ivie who greeted us at the front and spoke to us upon checking out. Those were the only employees we had contact with but I’m sure all would receive a 10. The pool is amazing, clean, adequately kept, the wader pool was wonderful for our baby. The kitchenette and refrigerator was amazing, the rooms are huge, it always passed my white glove test. We travel due to my husbands job constantly and stay in many hotels this is by far one of the cleanest, freshest, and amazingly kept. The beds are always very comfy, the TV and remote is easy to navigate. I can’t say enough great things about this property. Highly recommend the Oceanview room with kitchenette. There are even chairs on the balcony to enjoy the view.

BUYER BEWARE! The Best Western Aku Tiki in Daytona Beach, FL will charge your credit card $500 for smoking in a room that you never smoked in. I have called & spoken with the front desk 10+ times & they cannot help me. Every time I leave a message for the manger (who is there but is too busy to pick up the phone). The manager NEVER calls back. They refuse to provide proof or even say what caused them to charge my credit card $500. I called Best Western corporate, they will not help, they say it is up to the hotel. They tried to get the hotel to respond to them about what caused the charge & nothing. This has been a year of me fighting this with no response from the hotel!!!

This is a scam, take detailed photos of your room before you check out if you choose to stay here.

In addition, it took over an hour to check in & our 1st room was flooded so they had to switch rooms, which took even longer!
