The staff were not able to provide another room on a single floor (most rooms are duplex). They refused to refund me any amount despite me leaving the room after only one night (total of 4 booked).
This particular room has no natural light or ventilation, and therefore smells very humid and enclosed. One of the windows does not open and faces the corridor (you’re forced to close the curtains for privacy), the other window opens only a tiny bit and faces a very unpleasant enclosed patio, the curtains are also broken for this window.
Location
Majority of the rooms are duplex with the bathroom downstairs, which is not explicitly written in the description. Thus you reserve a room with terrace in the expectation, that you will go upstairs on the terrace. But in fact you have to go to the toilets downstairs in the night, when you need. There is no wardrobe, where you can put your dress and any place to put your luggage, because even if you have a suite, it is exiguous. Furthermore the room is dark.
The location was excellent. We could walk to everything.
It was noisy. We could hear the people and the music from the restaurant downstairs.

Suite was a bit claustrophobic, window to outside frosted over and living room window was open to the walkway for the other rooms of other guests.

Mi è piaciuto moltissimo il soggiorno al Palazzo Salomone. La struttura è elegante, curata nei dettagli e situata in una posizione perfetta nel cuore di Ortigia. Il personale è stato estremamente gentile, accogliente e sempre disponibile a soddisfare ogni richiesta, facendomi sentire davvero a casa. Ho apprezzato molto anche la pulizia e la tranquillità dell’ambiente. Un’esperienza davvero piacevole che consiglio assolutamente.

Ubicación excelente en un lugar imprescindible si vas a Sicilia: la isla de Ortigia. Matizo lo de la la ubicación: excelente una vez te deshaces del vehículo. Nosotros íbamos en moto y puedes aparcar SIN PAGAR en cualquiera de los aparcamientos de moto. Eso sí, tienen que concederte el derecho de acceso a la isla con tu vehículo. Pero el hotel se encarga de todo a través del chat de booking. Todo muy fácil. Si vas en coche creo que es otra historia, ya que NO puedes aparcar en NINGÚN sitio (excepto los parkings de pago que indicarán en el hotel)
las habitaciones están en dos plantas, al menos la nuestra (com un duplex), por lo que para ir al de la cama al lavabo tientes que subir y bajar escaleras. En nuestro caso, no es que fuese un problema, pero siempre es más cómodo una única planta.
